What made the finale work was how confidently it balanced the police procedural elements with the personal storylines. Danny had to get back into that unifrom to make his transition from New York City Prince Detective to Boston's finest. I mean the neoptism is the main catalyst in this franchise, so let's lean into that. Sean and Danny or is it Danny and Sean, who knows, but our favorite father and son duo were expecting to just chill for this shift but they stop a robbery in progress and Danny has to show Sean how old school takes down the bad guys. But let's clap for Marisa Ramirez returning and Danny and Baez getting back together! It was also great to see Jonah and Grandpa working the streets together to help solve a case to save Mae's trial. Speaking of Mae, her and the Judge going public? Love that little relationship. Meanwhile, Sarah had to check her man's ex and let her know that she isn't taking her daughter overseas just to spite them. Now that's a mother that stepped up. Boston Blue finally developed its own tone, its own family dynamic, and its own identity. The series still carries the DNA of the original franchise, but this episode proved it can move beyond simply being a continuation. The plan goes off the rails when Alec insists they immediately head to his private plane to flee to Mexico. Mickey was never supposed to actually get on that aircraft, but she refuses to let him walk away without a recorded confession for Rick’s murder. Once they are near the plane, Mickey plays her final hand. She tells Alec she needs to call Skye because the mysterious "hatchet man" might be targeting her family. Whitney, the wife of the missing Wes, has been asking way too many questions. When Beulah visits Whitney's trailer at the end of the hour to quiet her down, she finds the place completely empty. Whitney pulled a vanishing act, leaving Beulah to utter the understatement of the night: "This is a problem." Blood on the Tracks and Hotel Hallways Beth’s trip to Dallas isn’t just about selling steaks, its also about her first run-in with Joaquin. The smooth-talking newcomer wastes no time letting Beth know she "made an impression" on Beulah during their brief interactions. Knowing Beth, Beulah is lucky to have escaped that interaction with her skin intact. Back at the ranch, the newest employee, Zachariah, gets a visit from an unhinged woman named Anna who is waving a gun and demanding justice. It turns out Zachariah is harboring a dark secret. He confesses that he was in love with Anna's daughter, Theresa, but they kept it hidden. After a night of heavy drinking, they fought, she ran, and he accidentally killed her while putting his truck in reverse. He claims he found the Lord in jail, but Anna doesn't seem overly impressed by his spiritual awakening. Mob bosses, private investigators, lounge singers, superpowers, and a compelling mystery strong enough to draw the Spider back into action? I’m sold. Spider-Noir surprised me in the best way possible. This show proves that Spider-Man can absolutely work in a live-action television setting and I don’t just mean when it comes to the powers. The story itself is genuinely top-tier. The series follows Ben Reilly, also known as “The Spider,” a former vigilante who gave up the mask. Five years later, he’s now working as a private investigator, trying to move past the failures and pain of his old life. But as the mystery at the center of this season unfolds, it slowly begins pulling him back into the darkness he tried to leave behind. He knows the city needs its hero. Nicolas Cage is incredible in the lead role. I’ve loved his take on this character ever since the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse films, and he brings so much personality and emotion to this version of Ben Reilly. Surrounded by a fantastic supporting cast including Lamorne Morris, Karen Rodriguez, and Li Jun Li, Cage really reminds everyone why he’s one of Hollywood’s greats. The set design, visual effects, and overall aesthetic of the show are top-notch in my opinion. The writing feels authentic to the noir-inspired time period, and the episodes flow together really well. The dialogue, atmosphere, and storytelling all blend together perfectly to create something that feels unique while still staying true to Spider-Man’s roots. And the action? The web-swinging looks amazing. The fight scenes are slick, stylish, and genuinely exciting. Sure, a few moments can get a little wonky visually, but honestly, that’s a very small complaint compared to everything this show does right.
