Disney has announced the title for the new Descendants movie, the fifth installment in the franchise. Disney announced today the fifth movie’s title: Descendants: Wicked Wonderland.  📺 A Fan Favorite Franchise Way back when in summer 2015, Disney released a tv movie musical directed by Kenny Ortega about the children of our favorite Disney characters - villains, heroes, Princesses and Princes alike. Little did Disney realize the phenomenon that they had just created with Descendants.  The original story followed four villains kids, Mal (Dove Cameron), daughter of Maleficent, Carlos (Cameron Boyce) son of Cruella de Vil, Jay (Booboo Stewart) son of Jafar and Evie (Sofia Carson) daughter of the Evil Queen (Snow White) as they travel to Auradon and go to school with the children of Princesses and Princes.  Fast forward to the last film and our main cast have moved on from the franchise. Cameron Boyce sadly passed away in 2019 due to a medical condition.  🎬 New Teens Move the Franchise Forward With a set of new teens, villains and heroes alike, the franchise has shifted with Descendants: The Rise of Red  following the Queen of Hearts (Rita Ora) daughter Princess Red (Kylie Cantrall) and her bestie Chloe (Malia Baker) daughter of Cinderella (Brandy) and Prince Charming (Paolo Montalban) as they face new challenges with a group of new kids. With The Rise of Red , 90s kids got a treat with Brandy and Paolo Montalban returning to the franchise. Brandy and Rita Ora will reprise their roles in Descendants: Wicked Wonderland along with Leonardo Nam as the Mad Hatter. Red and Chloe will immediately face the aftermath of the events of The Rise of Red and that’s all we know as Disney has not released any further plot details. Uma did say at the end that there are consequences when you mess with time, so only time will tell what is in store for Red and Chloe. Poppa’s House Series Finale Recap and Review In the Poppa’s House series finale, Poppa and Ivy share a microphone and perform the classic Rick James and Teena Marie duet, “Fire and Desire.” The chemistry is unmistakable, and they almost share a moment—until Ivy pulls away and rushes off. Meanwhile, Junior stops by and finds Poppa in the kitchen, lost in thought about Ivy. He has heart eyes and Junior notices. Poppa opens up about his feelings and starts plotting how to finally tell her how he feels. Junior may have landed a studio deal, and Nina is helping him develop the project but, she is overstepping by trying to take over. True to form, he doesn’t speak up when he’s unsure about her creative direction. Since it’s a children’s movie, Nina brings in the kids to brainstorm—and chaos follows. Their wild ideas make Junior instantly regret not setting boundaries. Later Poppa advises him to set those boundaries. Poppa invites Ivy over for what he hopes will be a romantic evening. He’s dressed to impress, and “My Cherie Amour” by Stevie Wonder sets the mood. But things take a turn. Ivy wants to open up—she’s caught feelings for someone, and she’s scared. Poppa assumes she’s talking about him and prepares to confess... until she reveals it’s her ex-husband, David. David’s getting treatment for alcoholism, and Ivy has been supporting him. She asks Poppa how he’d feel if she got back together with David. Heartbroken but gracious, Poppa tells her that if she’s happy, then he’s happy. Cue the doorbell—David, played by Coby Bell, has arrived, invited by Ivy. The episode ends on a classic soap-style cliffhanger. Junior secures his movie deal after finally standing up for himself. Ivy later discovers that the heartfelt note she thought was from David was actually written by Poppa. Just as they’re about to clear the air and reveal their true feelings, Poppa’s much younger former flame, Lola, returns unexpectedly to make amends. It’s a tough blow when a show ends with a cliffhanger leaving the viewer to never receive resolution. As satisfying as the buildup was, debut seasons should steer clear of unresolved endings—audiences deserve closure, especially when they’ve invested in the journey. Overall, it was a standard episode with romantic tension and comedy delivered by Coby Bell and Damon Jr. I’d rate it a seven out of ten.

In the latest episode of “Suits L.A.,” we return gratefully to the core strength of television’s newest law drama from NBC Universal — the use of more robust storylines centered around the peculiarities, personalities, and quirky personas of the entertainment industry. It’s a lane the series can pick up speed in and truly stand apart from its small screen counterparts.  At the start of the episode, entitled “Tearin’ Up My Heart,” we find criminal defense attorney Stuart Lane living his best life car-dancing to 90s boy band mega hits as he ferries his uninterested preteens to school.  When a fender-bender with comedy actress Yvette Nicole Brown, best known for her role on the hit show, Community , literally stops him dead in his tracks in the school drop-off line, the day takes a turn. When the incident continues to escalate as the day precedes, the curtain drops on a much more serious issue for Stuart. Portrayed with depth by Josh McDermitt, Stuart’s ongoing struggle with his anger throughout the episode forms this compelling, at times, insult-laden narrative, as it explores the hidden psychological repercussions of unconfronted fear. Stay with me. McDermitt’s performance captures the subtle anguish of the underlying trauma of Stuart’s run-in with former client David Bowie, of the non-musical Bowies, that is beginning to surface, manifesting itself in unexpected ways when Stuart finds himself laboring in its aftermath (whether he knows it or not). As the episode unfolds, we slowly witness the toll that the Bowie encounter (which played out in episode 10) subtly takes on Stuart in his denial of his current frustrations. Most notably when the confrontations with Brown resurface as Stuart repeatedly refuses to take an appropriate seat on the apology struggle bus. Things come to a head when the comedy actress, playing herself, secures a restraining order, of sorts, from their kids’ school barring Stuart from being on campus. Devastated by the prospect of being kept away from supporting his kids in their activities, Stuart seeks fellow attorney Rick Dodsen’s (Bryan Greenberg) assistance, who, in a crazy twist, represents Brown for the Railsback Lane firm. Yes, Stuart’s own firm. McDermitt’s take on the emotionally complex Stuart continues to be a standout for the show. At once, you find yourself cringing at Stuart’s hubris and myopic moral superiority, and the next, you are feeling sorry for his vulnerability. McDermitt embodies the character's internal conflict with a mixture of sensitivity and aggression, perfectly illustrating how unrealized trauma can distort one's reality. It was a subtle, yet effective way to address the ways in which anxiety can take shape. I must applaud the writing in this episode as it expertly weaves in Stuart’s backstory to create a complex character who is equal parts the overly confident lawyer and equal parts anxious man who is often overcome by his lingering insecurities. The use of flashbacks this go-round actually does the best job, to date, in rounding out the present-day narrative, instead of running parallel to it with what feels like a separate storyline. Furthermore, the brotherly love dynamic between Stuart and Ted Black (Stephen Amell) adds another layer to their friendship. In a poignant moment where Ted is called in to confront Stuart about his behavior—a touchstone of hope amidst Stuart’s spiraling anger emerges. This exchange highlights the potential for healing, even in the most volatile circumstances. And, in what I would love to believe is the powers-that-be listening to me, what was also a nice departure from previous episodes this week was a better use of the series’ female characters to also drive a compelling narrative — specifically, Erica Rollins, played by Lex Scott Davis, and Amanda Stevens, portrayed by Maggie Grace. Serving as the fictional heads of the entertainment division and the criminal defense division, respectively, for Black & Associates, the two women are afforded an opportunity to work more closely together, truly for the first time since the series began, both from a character standpoint and an acting one.  SUITS LA -- "Tearin’ Up My Heart" Episode 111 -- Pictured: (l-r) Stephen Amell as Ted Black, Josh McDermitt as Stuart Lane -- (Photo by: Nicole Weingart/NBC) In the episode, criminal defense attorney Amanda seeks help from her entertainment law counterpart Erica in defending a teen star accused of assaulting her father. When the circumstances by which Amanda approaches the case are revealed to be fueled by her relationship with her own estranged father, Erica gives her another perspective to consider, in an effort to help save the case.  Davis and Grace are beautiful onscreen together — not just from a visual aesthetics lens but more so from the way the women are allowed to display equal power and poise opposite one another without the threat of pitting them against each other. It was refreshing to watch two strong women get to collaborate instead of compete. When Ted was not facilitating Erica and Amanda’s collab on the assault case, he was faced with a new challenge of his own related to his celebrity client, Patton Oswalt, again playing himself, who is seeking a fictional negotiation of a contract that would have the comedian confronting his own fears. Who knew law came with so much personal therapy. Nevertheless, as I have said previously, the regular appearance of real-life celebrities on the show as key figures in the storylines, is truly what gives Suits L.A. its most effective selling proposition over other shows in the crowded field that is the law genre. With built-in recognition of these “characters,” their addition to the stories actually make the plots, in some ways, more relatable. Thank you Suits L.A. for finally giving us the best case use of this ensemble cast with a more balanced use of emotion, humor, angst, and self-actualization — the show we have been waiting for this season may have arrived. Suits L.A. will wrap up its debut season with just two more episodes. A Game-Changing Reveal for Tracker Fans CBS’ hit Tracker has kept us all glued to our television sets this season and they are not finished with us yet. The Season 2 finale trailer has dropped, courtesy of TVLine and with it a return of Colter’s family – his mother (Wendy Crewson as Mary Shaw) and sister (Melissa Roxburgh as Dory Shaw) to be exact. Colter will be dealing with the fallout of his father’s mysterious death. His sister gave him a box of files related to their dad’s research which could’ve led to his death. Dory and Mary’s reappearance adds emotional complexity and depth to the finale. As Colter continues his journey as a lone-wolf tracker, his relationships — especially with family — shape his motivations and internal conflicts. His mother and sister serve as both a moral compass and a reminder of the life Colter left behind. Her return could also be a catalyst for healing or even open up new story arcs for Season 3. With Jensen Ackles already returning earlier this season as Russell Shaw, Colter's older brother, we would love to see all of them on screen together solving the mystery surrounding their father’s death. In the trailer, Colter has his weapon aimed at someone with tears streaming down his eyes – could it be his mother? Was she responsible for his father’s death this whole time? Welcome Back to the Apocalypse: Why Dead City  Still Matters The Walking Dead: Dead City is back for its second season and Season 2 Episode 1, titled "Old Acquaintances" , doesn’t disappoint. Picking up a year after the Season 1 finale, the show drops us back into a grittier, more fractured Manhattan, where Maggie and Negan are once again forced into a tenuous alliance.  As The Walking Dead: Dead City  continues to carve out its place in the franchise, this episode sets the tone for a season full of new threats, moral ambiguity, and the ever-present question: can Maggie and Negan truly trust one another? Old Ties, New Enemies Season 2 Episode 1: we start with still reeling from the trauma of Hershel’s kidnapping and her community on edge with a new threat promising to rip everything apart. New Babylon governor named Charlie Byrd and her security let it be known who is the new boss in the City. Displaying people who dared cross her by hanging them for all to see. Perlie who lied about Negan, no one bought his story, Maggie of course wanted to make a deal. She would go to NYC with him and Ginny decided she was going too. Negan’s past crimes are never forgotten, but he’s no longer just a villain. Maggie’s choices, too, are increasingly driven by desperation rather than clear-cut heroism. This episode masterfully sets up a season that’s less about zombies and more about the fragile alliances and fractured humanity in a crumbling world. Return of Negan Negan is back with his new Lucille in hand from The Croat. He did his best version of his old self to scare the gangs. He wants everyone to come to some sort of alliance or truce to face the bigger baddie out there. His ultimate goal is to find Annie and Joshua. This episode of Watson Season 1 Episode 12 finally showcases Moriarty. He used to work in the shadows or through agents, but not anymore. His fused fingers anomaly is also explained. Look out Watson! It opens with the Fellows Team split into two groups investigating a mysterious case of a sleeping man, Mike Dwyer. Sasha and Ingrid examine the patient and suggest physical possibilities of his sleeping 14+ hours. Ingrid says it’s Kleine-Levin Syndrome prompted by something at the patient’s new address. Watson works with them to deduce what triggered the sudden excessive sleeping.  Stephens and Adam investigate the possible environmental causes. They enter a sub basement of his apartment building. Note, only Stephens is masked up. The sub basement is an old deteriorating bomb shelter. They turn on the lights and find a room still stocked with items including old food items. Adam opens the fridge door to a cloud of black mold spores. Watson annotates black mold contamination as a cause for Dwyer’s excessive sleep. Mystery solved. Later that night, Adam and Stephens double date. Adam tells their dates about the idiosyncrasy of being identical twins. He tells of their past pranks. Lauren, his date, tells him how she can tell them apart, since she dated them both. Stephens thoughtfully watches his brother as he looks at the menu. The next day,  Watson, the Fellows Team and Mary meet in the team’s office to celebrate the Holmes Clinic DNA Library. It catalogues every mutation known to mankind. He's been working on a project consisting of anonymous, consensual, rare DNA samples from patients they treat. The Watson Database of Human Mutations is Watson's life’s work. He’ll use it for the good of humankind. A paper publicizing their work will be released soon. They will all be credited for the project and the paper. All Rights Reserved. A stranger with chronic migraines walks into the clinic. Ingrid immediately recognizes him and volunteers to see him. In an exam room, he tells her what he wants her to do. He knows of Watson's cutting edge genetics lab. He orders her to contaminate Watson's adeno-associated virus cultures used in his research, and sabotage his work. He says this will help her become who she's really supposed to be. Ingrid tentatively asks if he's James Moriarty, and he confirms it. Moriarty tells her how he fooled Watson into believing he had webbed fingers, then leaves.  In the office, Watson asks Stephens if he's seen Adam. Watson got a call from the nurse in the hospital about him. They go there to find Adam on his knees at a desk frantically searching through a nurse's purse. Watson asks the nurse to admit Adam, and get a toxicology screen. Stephens bewilderedly watches his brother get taken away. He tells Watson Adam’s been sober for 5 years. He asks if his behavior could be due to black mold ingestion. Watson thinks otherwise, that Adam's relapsed. This is a mystery that hits one of their own. Sasha teases Ingrid who sits at her desk brooding. Stephens hurriedly walks in and tells them to meet in the conference room. His brother needs help. Stephens lists all of Adam's symptoms. Ingrid and Sasha ask questions as they brainstorm. Ingrid states the obvious, that Adam's relapsed. Stephens denies it. Watson appears and redirects Sasha and Ingrid's attention to their colleague. Stephens lists black mold and his brother’s vegan dinner as possible causes. Watson assigns everyone tasks. Stephens thanks Watson.   Stephens goes to see Adam and tells him they did a tox screen on him. Adam says he’ll be positive for hydrocodone. He relapsed. Lauren had hydrocodone for wisdom tooth removal, and he took 6 pills over 3 days. Adam says he is stressed.  Ingrid is in the lab recording her feelings and justification for what she's about to do. She's afraid of being blackmailed. She then deletes the recording, and starts contaminating the cultures with sugar.  Moriarty enters an elevator with Watson. Watson asks about his headaches, and Moriarty says he’s better. He tells Watson how he's impressed with what they are doing cataloging human mutations. He says he's a big fan.  Mary stops Watson in the hospital hallway, and tells him Adam tested positive for opioids. She said she'll test again, but this becomes a workplace intoxication case. Watson gets a call from the OR about Stephens wandering into the operating room. The OR doctors, nurses and security officer cautiously approach Stephens. He's standing in the room with a surgical tool. Watson and Mary get there and Stephens is acting as if he's high. He’s admitted and placed in the same room with Adam. He asks Ingrid and Sasha for suggestions on what is causing the twins’ erratic behavior. Mary enters the conference room and suggests visual agnosia. Their eyes are working, but the brain can't process what's seen. They all are alerted about the twins. They're eating patient leftovers, exhibiting another symptom, hyperphagia, insatiable eating. Watson orders another MRI for them. He believes their brains are quickly changing.  Ingrid says Watson was right. There are rapid temporal lobe changes noted. Watson suggests pica co-existing over different symptoms. He diagnoses the symptoms as Kluver-Bucy Syndrome with a prognosis of cascading brain damage if the underlying cause isn't treated. It's fatal. Ingrid and Sasha quickly rattle off different underlying causes. Watson says they are missing a major cause, herpes simplex encephalitis. Sasha remembers Adam had a cold sore. They saw them both drink from the same mug. Watson later tells the twins the possible diagnosis, and prescribed treatment. He assures them they’ll be recovering in about two weeks. Stephens isn't sure of the diagnosis.  Ingrid meets Watson the next morning at the clinic’s entrance. There's still no Shinwell. He's concerned about him. Ingrid updates Watson on the Croft brothers' treatment. The medication isn't helping. Their form of herpes is resistant. They say something is off about the response. Watson asks Ingrid to sequence the virus. He goes to request a welfare check on Shinwell.  In the lab, Watson, Ingrid and Sasha review the viral sequencing results. The herpes virus the twins have isn't natural. It is genetically modified, and Watson asks who created it. Behind them, Shinwell tells Watson it was him. More specifically, Watson's research made the twins sick.  Shinwell tells Watson that Moriarty is behind everything that's happened. He confirms he's alive and he’s been doing Moriarty’s bidding for months. Watson looks at him with disbelief. Shinwell tells him Moriarty’s been involved in Watson's life work from the start. Adam was targeted. He leaves and experiences severe burning pain on his neck. Watson tells Mary, Ingrid and Sasha they are all in danger, and recommends they tender their resignation. The collected DNA is in the hands of James Moriarty and weaponized against them. The delivery vector is anything touched or breathed. Sasha and Ingrid won’t leave. Sasha tells Watson she and Ingrid worked and found a solution. Sasha and Ingrid tell Watson they developed a filter and found the SNORA31 mutation. It prevents the body from keeping viruses out of the brain. This was rare and impossible, proving it was engineered for the Crofts.  Later, Ingrid asks Mary if she's still fired. Mary tells her she's been moved to probationary status, unless she does something that warrants termination. They work with Watson on a remedy to help the Croft twins. Adam's condition worsens. The brothers express their fears, and prepare for death. Stephens talks about what to expect when they die. Adam goes into a coma. Sasha goes to see the twins in their room. Sasha assures Stephens they aren’t contagious. She brings them letters from Lauren. Stephens says he hoped to be with Sasha some day. She holds his hand. In the lab, Watson finds something that may work. He shows Sasha, and they are hopeful. She runs to tell Stephens and finds he’s slipped into a coma, too. Watson, Sasha and Ingrid quickly make arrangements for the Croft twins’ operation.  Watson directs Sasha and Ingrid to prepare the genetic material needed from the Watson adeno-associated viruses type-9, WAVE9. Ingrid realizes the viral cultures are the ones she contaminated. She removes them from the incubator, and Sasha takes them from her. Watson immediately notices something’s wrong. All the cultured viruses are dead. He can’t grow new ones in time to save the Croft brothers. He retraces his culture prep steps, and centrifuged what was left in the contaminated cultures to get enough vector solution. There's only enough for one dose. He asks Sasha and Ingrid who to save, Adam or Stephens? This episode had medical science mixed with suspenseful storytelling, and Moriarty’s audacious appearances. Glad Shinwell finally told Watson everything. The heartwarming Croft brothers' relationship was on display and truly realistic. The quick, brilliant, scientific research and lab work was remarkable. A touching surprise was Stephens expressing his feelings for Sasha. Ending the episode with Watson facing an unexpected, dire choice was an exciting cliffhanger. This show keeps improving.
