'Squid Game' Season 3 Teaser Breakdown: New Deadly Games

Person in a red hooded suit stands in front of a large yellow keyhole shape on a dark background, creating a mysterious mood.

A new Squid Game Season 3 teaser has arrived, and it’s every bit as mysterious as fans hoped. From the shocking reveal of Gi-hun waking up in a coffin to the eerie cry of a baby echoing in the final frame, Netflix’s global phenomenon is gearing up for a dramatic final chapter. If you’re wondering what the new teaser reveals and what it means for the end of the series, you’re in the right place.

Gi-hun Returns… in a Coffin

The teaser opens with a nasty surprise: Seong Gi-hun, also known as Player 456, wakes up inside a coffin. After surviving the original games and attempting to take down the organization in Season 2, Gi-hun is now forcibly brought back.

So this new season about to be more psychological and intense huh? According to creator Hwang Dong-hyuk, Season 3 will focus on Gi-hun’s inner battle, guilt, and quest for redemption.

Creepy VIPs Are Back for More Bloodsport

One of the most polarizing aspects of Squid Game Season 1 was the presence of the VIPs, you know the wealthy elites who bet on human lives for entertainment. Jerks. Love them or hate them (we hate them if you couldn’t tell), they’re back in full force. The teaser shows glimpses of their grotesque masks and decadent surroundings and we see nothing has changed.

Their return also raises the question: will Gi-hun finally reach them and if so, at what cost?

New Animatronic Doll: Meet Chul-su

If Young-hee’s robotic stare haunted your dreams, get ready for her counterpart, Chul-su. The teaser reveals a new animatronic doll, seemingly male. We not ready! We’ve seen some fans speculate that Chul-su may be part of an upgraded version of “Red Light, Green Light” or a completely new childhood game turned deadly.

What do you think? We love fan theories!

A Baby’s Cry and What It Might Mean

The teaser ends with perhaps the most haunting sound of all: a baby crying. Burp him, it's probably just gas. Theories are swirling. Is it symbolic of innocence lost, a new generation being born into violence, or even a contestant’s child at risk? Some fans connect it to expectant players shown earlier in the teaser.

The Beginning of the End

Squid Game Season 3 promises to be darker, bolder, and more emotionally charged than its predecessors. With Gi-hun’s fate hanging by a thread, the sinister VIPs returning, and disturbing new elements like Chul-su and a mysterious baby cry, fans are in for a wild ride.

📅 Mark your calendars: Season 3 premieres June 27, 2025, exclusively on Netflix.
