After all the drama, delays, and waiting, we finally get to see Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, the first official release from Avatar Studios. And honestly, right out the gate, we are thrown back into this beautiful world. The animation is TOP TIER. This movie looks incredible, and I really wish we were getting the chance to see this on the big screen because it would have looked amazing in theaters. This movie takes place after the original series, with Aang now being 25 years old. We also have an entirely new voice cast, which I was definitely curious about going into this movie. I am not going to get into spoilers, but I will say that the movie does a really good job showing us where these characters are now. Aang is older, more powerful, and still dealing with the fact that he is the last Airbender. He is carrying a lot of the weight of his past with him, and I really enjoyed seeing that side of his character. We get some really cool action scenes throughout the movie, and the animation makes everything look even better. Seeing Aang in action now that he is older and more experienced was honestly amazing. The Avatar State looks incredible, and the action feels like Avatar. The movie also does a great job bringing back the humor. Sokka is still hilarious, Toph is still Toph, and Zuko is still doing his thing. Seeing these characters together again honestly made me smile. The relationship between Aang and Katara was also one of my favorite parts of the movie. You can really feel the history between them, and Katara understands Aang in a way that nobody else really can. Aang is still trying to deal with being the last Airbender, and I liked seeing how that affects him. Aang also finds himself on a new journey involving a legendary Avatar, while trouble is spreading throughout the world. We get to see the Fire Nation, Republic City, and some new characters introduced into the Avatar universe. And speaking of new characters, we get an Air Nomad named Tagah, voiced by Dave Bautista. I really enjoyed what he brought to the character. The new voice cast also did a great job. Eric Nam, Jessica Matten, Roman Zaragoza, Donnie Quan, and Steven Yeun all bring something special to these characters. They aren't trying to simply copy the original voice actors, but they still understand what made these characters so special to begin with. That is what I really enjoyed about this movie. It feels like Avatar. It has the action, the humor, the heart, and the emotional moments that made the original series so special. At the same time, it feels like the story is moving forward and giving us something new. I honestly went into this movie excited but also a little nervous because Avatar: The Last Airbender is one of those shows that means a lot to people. But after watching the movie, I can say that I really enjoyed it. My only real complaint is that I wish this movie was getting a theatrical release. The animation is beautiful, and this feels like the kind of movie that should be seen on the biggest screen possible. But either way, I am just happy that we finally got to see it. Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender is a great return to this world, and I am excited to see where Avatar Studios takes the franchise next. The Tribeca premiere represented far more than a festival screening. For Sargeant, it was the realization of a dream she'd quietly held for years. She recalled moving into the neighborhood shortly after Tribeca Festival launched and vividly remembered walking past the red carpets outside the courthouse, telling herself, "One day, I'll be there." That moment finally arrived with Stand Clear the Closing Doors, making the experience especially emotional. Even more remarkable, Tribeca was the very first festival she submitted the film to—and the first to accept it. Talk about setting the bar high. The inspiration struck almost immediately after the subway encounter in early 2025. Sargeant had already been exploring producing during a slowdown in acting work and was on her way to class when the incident unfolded. After sharing the story with her brother, he immediately responded that it "sounds like a film." That simple observation changed everything. Within a week, Sargeant had written the screenplay, refining subsequent drafts to sharpen the tone while keeping the emotional truth intact. She explained that the story felt manageable because it unfolded primarily in one location, allowing her to focus on character and tension instead of spectacle. Although directing her first film could have been intimidating, Sargeant said the biggest hurdle wasn't stepping behind the camera—it was finding the right subway line. She laughed while recalling late-night and early-morning scouting trips across New York with her cinematographer, trying to identify trains that would work best for filming. The production itself moved remarkably quickly, wrapping in just six hours despite being filmed on active subway trains. Friends she had known for years volunteered as background performers, helping maintain continuity throughout the moving subway sequences despite working well below their usual rates. A secret failure he's never acknowledged aloud. Paul. His presence inside Lestat's consciousness could have existed as just a service to fans, an answer to a three-season curiosity about Lestat's hand in his demise. Instead, it becomes one of the most emotionally generous moments of the entire season, serving as the bridge of love between Louis and Lestat, speaking the one truth Lestat felt but never once heard uttered from Louis' lips. Paul's presence reframes him beyond his original purpose. In the finale, he becomes the permission for Lestat to allow peace to carve out a space within 300 years of immeasurable pain. And amidst the pain is something sweet and unexpectedly funny as Paul, ever the protective little brother, tells Lestat he still wishes he were a woman, to which Lestat responds, | "Me too sometimes." The stillness in this moment captures the strangeness and beauty and complex nature of these characters that make us keep coming back for more. The finale moves forward by revisiting the pastThe Vampire Lestat season finale doesn't end in victory. It ends with responsibility. Throughout the narration, the muted conversations, and the purposeful noise in the midst of dialogue, Lestat finally says the thing he's avoided all along: "The fault was mine." Not all of it, but his part in it. And not forever, but for long enough. Long enough to acknowledge his hand in the destruction—his fledglings, his loves, and the Great Conversion—without surrendering to the weight of it. While the concert is over and the performance is complete, the consequences have ushered in a new beginning. And judging by those final moments, Queen of the Damned is preparing to explore not simply what Lestat destroyed but what survives after him.

Last week on Beyond The Gates, the Kill Bill story dragged on, Dani projected onto her husband, Nicole found out information about her daughter secondhand, and Ted was in love. Monday During the deposition for Madison’s case, Bill has a medical crisis and is rushed to the hospital. Naomi blames Hayley but hugs her as Hayley tries to smile sinisterly. Emphasis on tries. Bill later wants out of the hospital but is convinced to stay for more tests. Dani projects onto Andre and accuses him of hiding something from her on his laptop, going as far as snatching it from him. Insert heavy side-eye. She learns that he has been working on beautiful photoshoots featuring women who have had mastectomies and are standing in their power. They are still beautiful. Later, Dani receives a call about Bill and says that he has a wife to care for him. She then tries to have sex with Andre, who senses something is wrong. The guilt is eating Dani alive. Please put us and her out of our misery by having her confess the truth. Tuesday Dani and Andre are in post-coital bliss, and she assures him that she is over her ex. Later, Nicole visits, and even she is shocked that Dani is not at Bill’s side. Dani lies to herself and Nicole because, as soon as I even think about giving my girl credit, what does she do? Dani couldn’t resist. She rushed to Bill’s side after learning that Hayley had stepped away. I must say, Naomi and Chelsea disrespected her when she was vulnerable and basically called her crazy and desperate. Why can’t they handle their father being in the hospital without Dani? They consistently call her and leave her with every detail. Bill is a stubborn patient. Ashley and Shanice have a boring conversation about their boring love lives. The best part was the news about Shanice’s cheating ex. It is not like she isn’t dating a cheater now. Bring her ex onto the scene. She has no chemistry with Ted, and it is clear that the writers want Ted with Leslie. They might as well go ahead and make that happen. Wednesday This episode pissed me all the way off. Joey the Untouchable burns a letter Doug left among his belongings that implicates Joey in his murder. A few things here; why did Vanessa bring Doug’s things over to Joey’s? Doug hated that man, and her children are very much alive. Why did she not go through his belongings with her children? What if they wanted to keep some things? Why is she just now doing this? Why has Joey’s sex made her a complete and utter airhead? Why is she even attracted to him? He is around 30 years her senior. All questions that will never have answers. I have been rooting for Doug to return, along with a romance between him and Shanice, which I wanted when it became clear that Vanessa did not love him anymore. Doug should be on our screens. Deanna has scenes with Ghost Dad, and it is a shame that we never got to see Doug with his kids. From the way they love him, we can see that he was a good dad. The writers seem to think we have forgotten how Joey set Doug up. I will never forget. Deanna also meets her mother at Orphey’s and says she wants to have a family dinner, with Joey included. Randy and Hayley plot. These two are so incredibly inept that I cannot understand how this story has been going on for almost a year. Later, Joey treats Randy like a slave. Go figure. Bill checks himself out of the hospital against medical advice. Hayley and Jacob discuss her options with Monica. Thursday The dinner happens. Joey is suspicious of Deanna, but I think it is deeper than that. I think Joey wants Vanessa isolated. He wants all of her time, and he loves that she is separated from her children. During the dinner, Deanna puts on a convincing show. Then Joey, the scum that he is, brings up going through Doug’s things. Deanna is focused on the endgame and does not take the bait. Dani tells Pam about her affair, and frankly, Pam went too easy on her. That tells me the writers are going to put Dani back with her abuser. Lovely. Because that is what it was. Bill emotionally and mentally abused her. This is not the ’90s. We are free from this toxic-love narrative. I love when the cousins come together to stand on business. Naomi, Chelsea, and Kat go head-to-head with Hayley, who is having a spa day after her husband checked himself out of the hospital against medical advice. Their scenes overall were very cute. Friday My favorite scenes of the day were between Kat and Eva. After Leslie interrupts father-daughter time, Ted leaves. Eva puts her foot down with Leslie. No, actually, this was my favorite scene because it is about dang time. Later, Eva is alone when Kat comes over after a chat with Bill. However, she is there to thank Eva for telling that loser Tomas to be upfront with her. Maybe I am delusional, but I think Kat just might be softening toward her sis. Hayley and Dani trade barbs, and Dani’s stupid behind says that she has sexed Bill for the last time. Hayley later questions Bill about it. Hayley shows her claws to Leslie. Too bad one of the two was no match for the other. I will let you guess which one. Chadison gets some onscreen love scenes this week. Long overdue for their fans, I am sure. Bill confronts Dani and tells her he wants to continue doing what they did. There was no real cliffhanger this week. Final Thoughts on the Week This week was okay. I won’t go on my usual rant because I have a long one coming about Joey. However, there will never be any change, so… I only watch his days for these recaps. Otherwise, I would skip them. Lastly, this Kill Bill story has been going on for 9.5 months. That is far too long, and it remains a major problem with this show. The problems stay consistent. I have discussed them before, but I have not seen much change.

Laura attempted to navigate hospital business with Tracy, while Sonny quickly realized a mysterious General Hospital board meeting had wrapped up far sooner than expected. At the Metro Court Pool, Rocco's arrival created an uncomfortable confrontation with Charlotte, Emma and Gio, leaving Danny furious after learning Charlotte hadn't warned him Rocco would be there. Meanwhile, Valentin made an emotional farewell to Anna, sharing one final embrace before walking away. Their goodbye was bittersweet, but Valentin's presence continued to cast a shadow over multiple storylines throughout the week. General Hospital also welcomed a fresh face when Dr. Tristan Roberts arrived as the hospital's newest surgeon. Elizabeth wasted no time making him feel welcome, giving the talented newcomer a tour of the hospital as he settled into Port Charles. Elsewhere, Carly anxiously waited for updates on Josslyn after learning her daughter had been taken away for additional testing. While Carly worried, Anna used the opportunity to gently question Josslyn about recent events, hinting there was still much more beneath the surface. At Wyndemere, Dante continued investigating the aftermath of Cassius' death while Valentin, Charlotte, Nina and Jack Brennan all found themselves drawn into the growing mystery surrounding the estate. Jack also made his way to Willow's home, where tensions between Willow, Nina and Drew continued to build. One of the week's biggest emotional stories belonged to Drew. While Willow remained convinced his condition hadn't changed, viewers watched as Drew quietly regained movement in his hand. Amelia and Wiley witnessed the breakthrough, and Kai also discovered the truth, but everyone chose to keep Drew's improving condition hidden from Willow, setting the stage for major fallout down the road. Music also took center stage as Trina prepared for an important showcase that could launch her singing career. Just moments before stepping on stage, nerves overwhelmed her and she suffered a panic attack. Thankfully, Gio talked her through the moment, helping her regain her confidence. Trina ultimately delivered her performance before industry executives, while Emma and Kai anxiously waited for news from the Metro Court Pool. Inspired by the experience, Gio admitted he wanted to explore music alongside Trina, believing the showcase marked the beginning of something much bigger for both of them. The happiest news of the week arrived when Portia went into labor. With Jordan by her side, Portia safely delivered a healthy baby boy. Curtis rushed to meet his son, while family and friends celebrated the newest addition to the Ashford-Robinson family. Stella, Jordan, Trina and Isaiah all shared in the emotional milestone as baby Ashford Robinson quickly became the center of everyone's attention. Not every family moment ended happily, however. Cody faced one of the hardest conversations of his life when he finally told James that Cassius had only pretended to be his father. James' heartbreaking reaction made for one of the week's most emotional scenes, as Cody struggled with the painful truth while hoping honesty would ultimately help his family heal. Josslyn also found herself wrestling with overwhelming guilt as memories of Cassius continued haunting her. After Liesl paid her a heartfelt visit at General Hospital, Trina stormed into Josslyn's hospital room demanding answers about why she hadn't been told her best friend had been shot. The emotional confrontation ended on a hopeful note, with the longtime friends agreeing on a special code word designed to keep them honest with each other moving forward. Romance also took an unexpected turn. Lulu confided in Ethan about everything happening in her complicated personal life, while Ethan admitted he had feelings for Ava.
