A Holy Grail for Horror Fans Released this morning by New Line Cinema and the horror titans at Blumhouse and Atomic Monster , the first look at Cronin’s reimagining makes one thing very clear: this isn't your daddy’s Universal Monster movie. After the 2017 Tom Cruise debacle nearly buried the franchise in a shallow grave, it seems the studio finally learned that if you’re going to resurrect an ancient curse, you should probably make it scary. Lee Cronin, the man who turned a cheese grater into a weapon of mass trauma in Evil Dead Rise , is bringing that same "mean-spirited" energy to the desert. The trailer opens not with a sweeping orchestral score, but with a suffocating silence as we meet a journalist (Jack Reynor) searching for his daughter, Katie, who vanished eight years prior. When she’s found alive inside a 3,000-year-old sarcophagus, the reunion isn't exactly a Hallmark moment. The Horror of the Homecoming The footage leans heavily into the "corrupted innocence" trope that Cronin excels at. Young Natalie Grace delivers the trailer’s standout (and most disturbing) line: "Don’t worry, Grandma. It’s fun to be dead." Apple TV has officially released the trailer for “Imperfect Women,” an upcoming psychological thriller led by and executive produced by Kerry Washington and Elisabeth Moss. The eight-episode limited series will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, launching with its first two episodes. New installments will roll out weekly every Wednesday through April 29. Based on the bestselling novel by Araminta Hall, “Imperfect Women” centers on a crime that fractures a decades-long friendship between three women. Crime Re-Creation Interrupted A terrified woman runs through her home and turns asking why they're trying to kill her. The camera turns and it’s Will standing over her with a pneumatic nail gun. Wait WHAT?! Next, we see Will in the kitchen of the murder victim shaking his head as recreates the crime in his head, going deeper than he usually does. He is shocked back to reality by the noise of water sloshing around in a large water body. One of the CSI agents was dusting it for prints. That was scary intense. At the crime scene, Will records his findings as he investigates the murder. The woman, Mrs.Joelle Hornbaker, is the same one he saw in his crime recreation earlier. Faith reports there are no forced entry signs, and nothing’s been stolen in the house. Her husband, Eli Hornbacker, was notified. He’s on his way back from a business trip in Memphis. Will tells Faith the killer knew Joelle Hornbaker was home alone. Will follows the footprints on the floor. He notices Mrs. Hornbaker could have stopped, but turned and faced her killer. Will observes the killer wanted to inflict pain on her. Joelle Hornbaker was the target of the home invasion. Will asks CSI Nash if he’s found anything, and Nash tells him he’s not finding anything. Will tells him to keep looking. He and Faith sound out their findings and Will states the killer wiped down the scene. He asks her how often a killer cleaned the area for prints and left the murder behind for them to find. Will continues looking for clues and discovers an open bloody draw of knives where a chef’s knife is missing.  CSI hasn’t found it, and Faith asks where it can be. Faith suggests the killer left with it, and Will says something strange. He says “He would never get that close.” This catches Faith’s attention.  Paul’s Back and Trouble Follows Someone is heard at the front door asking to be let in. He has some information. The police officer stopped him at the door. The guy tells him he needs to talk to the main guy. Faith and Will come around the corner and Will says his name, Paul. Will asks him why he’s there, and Paul says he lives down the street. Will introduces him to Faith, and he barely acknowledges her. He tells Will he knows who murdered Mrs. Hornbaker.  Paul is one of Will’s old friends. Will takes Paul to the GBI, and Will’s confused by Paul’s picture of the killer. He says it looks like a toddler drew it. He’s not wrong. Paul tries to explain the drawing. Will asks him when he saw the killer. Paul knows exactly when he saw the guy. He gets up early, about 4 a.m. because he’s in the 4 a.m. Club. He explains why. Paul says he saw the guy right next to Joelle’s house. Will found Paul’s use of Mrs. Hornbaker’s first name was strange and asked Paul if he was intimate with her. Unfortunately, that’s the exact time Eli Hornbaker entered Will’s office. Mr. Hornbaker attacks Paul. Eli Hornbaker shouts that Paul was sleeping with Joelle, and she tries to break it off. Paul contradicts. Faith forces Eli out of the office and threatens to arrest him if he doesn’t calm down.  Will asks Paul for the truth. He does confirm he had an affair with Joelle, but says he didn’t kill her. He went to a dinner party at the Hornbaker house a year ago, and Joelle came on to him.  Paul and Joelle would get together whenever Eli went away for business. It was a casual thing for them. Paul reveals that the last time he and Joelle were together was the night of her murder. He went over to break up with her. They had breakup sex. Will is finding it very hard to believe his friend wasn’t the killer.  Will goes to the conference room and tells Amanda he doesn’t think Paul’s the murder, but he’s a stupid, stupid man. Amanda says he’s all they have, since he’s the last known person to see Joelle Hornbaker alive. They’ll also get DNA. Will feels something’s different about the case, and he can’t figure it out, yet. He knows it wasn’t a crime of passion. Will does know what the killer is like. He says he is patient, detail-oriented and cold. None of that describes Paul Campano. Faith comes in with more clues. Eli Hornbaker said the nail gun wasn’t his, so she traced the serial number to a Brent Shipley.  He’s unreachable now. Faith found he was killed a year ago in a home invasion. Amanda intensely tells them they both know what that means. Will says it’s a serial killer. This story gives horrible feels experienced with the first two episodes. (Disney/Daniel Delgado Jr.) RAMÓN RODRIGUEZ, MARK-PAUL GOSSELAAR No Bagel for You Angie, Ormewood and Franklin get to a hit-and-run crime scene. Frank reprimands Police Officer O’Hara protecting the scene for eating a bagel. He says he needs to be in shape for softball season. Ormewood tells the officer it feels like he doesn’t care, and Angie grabs a bite of the bagel and returns it. These three make you laugh. They have to add some comedy considering the nature of their jobs. The person who hit the pedestrian left his car and fled on foot. The car’s registered to a Benjamin Price. Franklin cries about Angie being unavailable for softball season because she got pregnant. Ormewood says she really runs the bases better than anyone else on the team.  They find some contradicting clues. The hair found on the damaged car doesn’t match the victim’s hair. They can’t tell the guy got hit by a car. Franklin gives Angie a hint to entice her to return to work and their softball team. Angie tells him not to compare to any woman and their pregnancy recuperative time. Franklin understands. Angie recreates the crime a little like Will. It doesn’t make sense because the victim was hit in the throat, the only place they can find an injury. The victim is also the driver. They check his phone and sees texts from a person named Luna. Angie, Ormewood and Franklin go to find her. Serial Killer and Hit-and-Run Crime Investigations Continue and Conclude Faith questions Sandra, the daughter of Brent Shipley. She confirms the nail gun belonged to her Dad. Faith shows her pictures of Joelle Hornbaker and Paul Campano. She doesn’t recognize them. Sandra tells faith how she found her Dad when he was murdered. She says she found that her Dad was beaten with a bat. She doesn’t know how anyone could sneak up on her Dad. He had a panic button worn around his neck.  Will has another deep vision and becomes Brent Shipley’s killer. He also sees James Ulster in his hallucination. James easily points out things about the serial killer. Will realize something new about Joelle Hornbaker’s murder.  Both crimes were laid out clearly to the viewer as we walked through the steps the detectives took to solve the crimes. They interviewed the witnesses and family. The strangest was the hair found on the damaged hit-and-run car. It was from a skunk. Ormewood asks who would kill someone over a pet skunk, he also shares how you can stop a skunk from smelling stinky. They found a possible killer, Daphne Bell, the Skunk Mother. How did it happen? What led to Benjamin Price’s death? Who is the guilty killer? Will and Faith walk through their clues and brainstorm on their case. They believe their serial killers are controlling, injustice collectors. They build a profile of the killers and suspect they knew Brent Shipley. They say the victims could have been anyone.They weren’t personal. Faith and Will’s case is disturbing.  This episode is like piecing a multipiece puzzle together.  Both cases were brain and mind teasers. James Ulster’s reappearance added lots of fear factor to it. How do the serial killers find victims?  Who publicizes their Joelle Hornbaker case?  How does “Call Paul’s” Hotline help solve the case? What happens to Paul? Does Betty get a sofa buddy? How did the two serial killers know each other? Is it really over for Will? Will James Ulster’s visitations end?  Walking through the crime solving done by both teams, Faith-Will, and Angie-Ormewood-Franklin was well-done. It felt like you were walking along with them. This really draws you into the story. The flipping back and forth of Will experiencing the killers’ psyche was disturbing, but was needed to help solve the murders. The writing was done well to give the viewer this feeling. The actors did a great job at making everything believable and added the camaraderie and close friendship. Paul was the messed-up friend of Will’s that bumbled his way along and garnered sympathy from everyone, including viewers. Liked the teasing, fun gathering at Will’s house between Angie, Will and Paul. It was like they were back in their old days. Betty’s back, too. Faith was back in her cool red sneakers. This episode was mind-bending and complicated. It gave you a look at what demands crime-solving puts on the detectives. Can also see Will go through a crisis that he may not be able to come back from, despite his therapy sessions.  Rating: ★★★★★

I wanted to love this episode of The Rookie , but it was just okay. It’s been a while since we’ve seen an undercover operation, especially with Nyla and Lucy together. I’ve been loving the ensemble working on cases together, and part of me feels like this undercover case should’ve been the focal point of the episode while everyone played their part in it. It wasn’t much of a whiplash episode, but it felt like something was missing.  Lucy and Nyla Go Undercover One of my favorite undercover episodes was season three episode fourteen titled “Threshold”. It was one of Lucy’s first undercover operations and she killed it; I wanted to see more of this for her. For a while it felt like her undercover work was being forced on us and didn’t give the same excitement “Threshold” did. Not until this current episode. Not only was she going back undercover, but it was with Nyla who inspired her to get into undercover work in the first place.  When two young women are found murdered, Lucy sees an opportunity to discover what they might’ve been up to for this to happen to them. She seemed particularly invested in this one, which is what really got my attention. She went to Nyla for help to get this operation up and running – and they did. Photo: (Disney/Mike Taing). All Right Reserved.  That didn’t take long – Rafael Navarro quickly approached Nyla and Lucy with an opportunity. After their first drug run, Rafael was ready to give them a bigger package to run. This is where I feel Lucy got too emotionally invested and lost sight of a bigger picture. With this bigger score, they had an opportunity to make a bigger arrest, but Lucy wanted no part of that. For her, getting justice for the two girls was most important. But was it? I would think making the bigger bust would be the important thing here. The two girls would still be able to get their justice afterwards, but it felt like Lucy needed  it to happen right there in that moment. Why? While undercover, we learn that Lucy has spent time, similar to those two girls, traveling the world while trying to figure out her path in life, and I wonder if a part of her felt like what happened to those girls could’ve easily been her. I know she was trying to get justice for the girls, but was she also trying to heal something within her past self as well? Miles Goes Rogue While helping Angela on a case, John and Miles are tasked with surveilling a home for a wanted man by the name of Keshaun DeMarco; a very dangerous man who nearly cost Wesley a case when he assaulted two key witnesses. He’s since gone into hiding. All Johna and Miles had to do was keep a look out for him.  After a few days and no movement, there's finally a visual on Keshaun. Photo: (Disney/Mike Taing). All Right Reserved.  In trying to fix his error, Miles decides to do some off duty surveilling; something John specifically told him not to do I might add. Not only did he not listen to John’s advice, he enlisted the help of Mid-Wilshire’s favorite problem child, Seth Ridley. Miles should’ve known nothing good could come of this.  Which we quickly saw play out when Seth steps away for a moment leaving Miles alone. That’s when Keshaun managed to catch Miles off-guard and nearly kidnapped him. Thankfully, Seth came back in time to see what was going on and called John for backup. When it looked like time was not on their side, Seth jumped in front of the car Keshaun had at this point been driving which bought some time for John and back up to arrive. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t proud of Seth at this moment. What he should’ve done was talk Miles out of this nonsense in the first place.  John and Tim were not  happy about the situation Miles put himself in, regardless of the fact that they did in fact apprehend Keshaun because of it. All Right Reserved.  I didn’t notice it at the time, but Miles goes rogue too many times. I get that he’s a rookie officer at Mid-Wilshire, but he’s no true rookie. It was his move that forced him to be a rookie again, so what’s with all these mistakes? As he was leaving, John caught up with him, letting him know that after talking with Tim on his behalf, he’d only been suspended for two weeks and extended for six months in the FTO program. What I liked about this conversation was how John reassured Miles that he was a good officer, but he needs to stop trying to prove it. Let’s hope he learns from this.  Will John and Bailey Make It Through the Distance? I hope not. I have to be honest here - he let her go in quiet hopes that she will change her mind again and come back home to him. She left to take this opportunity, knowing that John has no plans on ever joining her. How is this not the beginning of the end for them? John is already showing signs of being lonely without her. The moments they steal together on facetime is cute, but will it be enough? Overall, this episode was just okay to me. I’m not sure what, but it was missing something , especially following last week’s episode. Let me know what you thought of this week’s episode of The Rookie  below.

Episode 6 of Industry might be my favorite episode this season and one of my favorite episodes so far in the entirety of the show. As we ramp up for the finale, the stakes and the drama are at their high this season and we’re left to wonder who’s going to be the last person standing.  This episode’s main focus is on SternTao finally exposing that Tender is a front and they actually have been covering up their fund management. Once again, we see how this is playing out and how it’s going to affect all of our key players. This was one of those episodes where I was glued to the TV and it really felt like I was stuck in their world through all of the good and bad going on around them.  We see Henry and Yasmin’s side of things, where their marriage is straining and pulling them further and further apart. Yasmin is starting to see through the facade and she is getting tired of the way that Whitney is acting and how oblivious Henry is being. But of course, Henry doesn’t think there’s anything wrong with it and essentially gaslights her into thinking that nothing is going on, which she truly doesn’t believe. Yasmin has a meeting with Harper where Harper tries to warn her of what Whitney has been doing at Tender and they go tit for tat for a bit. That scene was truly a highlight in this week’s episode for me, the actresses feed off each other’s energies really well and it is one of the highlights of the show. After we get to the end of the episode, it made me think that I really believe at this point that Harper and Yas might be the only people at the end of this show to make it out or on top within this world. We seen Henry & Whitney meeting with their auditor and kinda letting go a bit, then we move over to Henry and Whitney at a gay club together and Henry ends up having relations with a random guy while Whitney whispers in his ear. Whitney is truly such a silently evil character, like he does so many sly and coy things that are backhanded or terrible, but you don’t see the gravity of it until it hits the fan. All of the characters in Industry are flawed, we know that at this point, I don’t know why but I feel like Whitney is a new kind of flawed.  We’re also seeing how things are affecting Harper (and Eric) and what their game plan is. Harper is prepping for this new business summit and she is going to present their findings about Tender and their assets (or lack there of) in Africa. The presentation goes very well and we see Tender take a major hit to their profit due to the information of the lack of funds and fabrication of financials. This sends Whitney into a panic, but he quickly thinks about how he can spin the situation and a find a way to come out on top. But it’s too late, they’ve taken the financial hit and Yasmin and Henry are starting to get worried about the situation as well. Henry decides to take matters into his own hands and he is reaching out to the auditor and other resources to find out what he can before the ship totally goes down. Whitney then lets him know that essentially if he continues to pursue this, they will both go down together and will be at fault for what’s happened within the company.  We also find out through Hayley confessing to Yasmin that Whitney hires all of his assistants through an escort agency so that they can sleep with and get dirt on clients for blackmail. This ties into Eric’s storyline because last week we closed the episode with him hooking up with an escort he has been regularly meeting with. We find out that he’s being blackmailed and there’s video footage of the act from the prior episode & the girl that he slept with is a minor. This leaves Eric distraught and leads him to severing his tie with SternTao and leaving it to Harper solely. This scene truly made me tear up, a lot of fans, myself included, see Eric as this sort of father figure to Harper’s character and the scene was so well done. As much as I hate what he did, I hope this isn’t the last we will see of him. Harper is now back where she was at the beginning of the season and is picking up the pieces and trying to move forward. The real question now is: is Yasmin going to jump ship at Tender and work with Harper to make it out of this? Or is Tender going to retaliate and take SternTao down?  This was truly one of the best episodes of this show thus far and I can’t believe we’re already almost done with Season 4. I’m not excited about having to wait for Season 5, but I’m ready to see how these final two episodes play out. I would give this episode a solid 5/5 star rating.

Bass x Machina , an adult animated series led by Emmy‑nominated actor Brian Tyree Henry , has officially locked in a Netflix release date of October 6, 2026 . Expect these voices to sell every grimace, curse, and existential crisis on the dusty digital plains. Steampunk Vibes, Supernatural Stakes If you’re picturing a spaghetti Western done up in brass gears and rogue AI, you’re in the right ballpark. Bass x Machina  blends traditional Western tropes with steampunk aesthetics and supernatural horror. The main conflict? Bass must serve as judge, jury, and executioner , navigating a world where every choice to protect his family could tear them apart. And speaking of world vibes, Netflix tapped South Korea’s Studio Mir , known for stunning animation in projects like The Legend of Korra  and Voltron: Legendary Defender   to bring this wild frontier to life.
