The week of August 24 is giving soap fans plenty to keep an eye on across Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, Beyond the Gates and The Young and the Restless. Secrets are getting harder to keep, relationships are being tested, and more than a few characters are about to learn that asking questions can lead to answers they probably were not prepared to hear.
From Marlena helping Cat dig into a hidden memory on Days to Drew plotting revenge on General Hospital, Chelsea struggling with old fears on Beyond the Gates and Victor once again making his feelings about Jack very clear on The Young and the Restless, here is what is coming to daytime during the week of August 24 through August 28.
Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Marlena Helps Cat Dig Into the Past
Cat's past takes center stage as the week begins when Marlena helps her unlock a hidden memory. That discovery apparently does not satisfy Cat's curiosity because she later goes looking to EJ for answers. Meanwhile, Abe and Theo are dealing with Lexie's death, while EJ has another confrontation on his hands when he faces off with Rolf.
Johnny and Chanel have happier things to focus on as they choose a special name for their baby, but Johnny may have something considerably less pleasant coming his way. Paulina urges him to come clean with Chanel later in the week, which is rarely the kind of advice anyone wants to hear in Salem.
Elsewhere, Jack reaches out to Gwen while Julie questions Chad's plans, and Gabi gives Javi some advice about Leo. Philip also makes a pitch to Xander, while Sarah and Brady reaffirm their love.
Stephanie's romantic situation gets more complicated when Alex arranges some alone time with her, but she later turns to Theo while upset with Alex. Holly angrily confronts EJ, Ari overhears a troubling conversation, and Belle's plans leave Marlena concerned. By Friday, EJ is questioning Chad about Stefano's chessboard, Sarah comforts Xander, Kate asks Ari for a favor, and Marlena gives Belle a keepsake.
General Hospital Spoilers: Drew Wants Revenge as Ava Sets a Trap
Port Charles starts the week with Valentin making a pitch to Jason, while Brennan confronts Willow. Josslyn has news for Hudson, Laura briefs Anna, and Tracy issues a warning. Considering Tracy's track record, somebody might want to actually listen this time.
Jason later encourages Carly as Obrecht goes searching for answers and Anna finds herself tempted. Ric jumps to conclusions, while Lulu steps into relationship counselor mode and offers some advice. By Wednesday, emotions begin running much hotter as Nina becomes enraged and Jordan makes her loyalties very clear.
Michael turns to Sonny for advice, Tristan opens up about his past, and Felicia puts Brennan on notice. Things escalate further on Thursday when Gio and Emma overhear an argument, Alexis makes a threat, Justin receives a shock, and Ava feels slighted.
Then there is Drew, who vows revenge before eventually finding himself waylaid. Ava is also setting a trap, while Sonny makes Laura a promise and Carly and Valentin reach a decision. Anna offers her support as the week closes, meaning several Port Charles players could be heading into the weekend with some very different plans than the ones they started with.
Beyond the Gates Spoilers: Chelsea's Past Comes Back to Haunt Her
Chelsea is facing a troubling reminder of the past when a mystery brings old fears rushing back. Kat becomes a source of comfort while Leslie gives someone the cold shoulder, and Anita and Vernon put Dani in the hot seat. Ashley, meanwhile, gives Hayley exactly what she wants, which could prove interesting depending on what Hayley intends to do with it.
Heather spends Tuesday playing around with Martin and Smitty, while Vanessa appears ready for a major overhaul. June gives Tyrell a boost, Andre confronts his past, and Chelsea's anxiety continues to build. Randy also arrives with an intriguing update for Joey, adding another question mark to an already busy week in Fairmont Crest.
Dani's search for answers gets cut short on Wednesday as Mona hustles Joey and Carlton has an unexpected encounter. Ted has some harsh words for Nicole, while Heather lashes out. By Thursday, Bill has a proposition for Naomi, Tomas leans on Eva and Nicole clashes with Kat. Iziah confides in Jacob, while Ted continues keeping the truth about Andre to himself.
Friday could leave several characters scrambling. Anita wavers over a major opportunity, Vernon goes into crisis mode, and Hayley hassles Naomi while also hustling Bill. Smitty's anxiety over Chelsea and Kat intensifies, and Elon delivers disturbing news to Jacob. Whatever everyone thought they had under control at the beginning of the week may look very different by Friday.
The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Victor and Jack Are Headed for More Trouble
Apparently Victor Newman and Jack Abbott finding reasons to disagree will survive us all. Victor begins the week warning Jack about crossing a line with his family, while Nikki shares some wisdom with Nick and Lily forces Holden to choose a side.
Victor is not finished with Jack either. On Tuesday, he makes his opposition to Jack becoming Nick's sponsor very clear. Nate discusses his return to medicine with Stephanie, while Victoria presents Kyle with a proposition that could send him in an unexpected direction.
Nick opens up to Victor about his struggles on Wednesday as Lily seeks Jack's advice. Diane, meanwhile, becomes suspicious of Kyle's latest game plan. Things get even more interesting Thursday when Victoria and Kyle's heated rivalry takes a surprising turn, Lily challenges Billy and Adam questions Phyllis about her connection to Matt Clark.
That Matt Clark storyline continues Friday when he reconnects with Patty. Victor keeps his plans involving Phyllis close to the vest, while Jack and Diane leave the drama behind, at least temporarily, for a romantic getaway. Given how things usually work in Genoa City, they might want to enjoy the peace while they have it.
Daytime Is Keeping the Pressure On
There is plenty brewing across all four soaps heading into the final week of August. Days of Our Lives is digging into Cat's memories while putting Johnny in a difficult position, General Hospital has revenge and traps in motion, Beyond the Gates is turning up the pressure on Chelsea and those around her, and The Young and the Restless continues pulling Victor and Jack into each other's orbit.
And because this is daytime, Friday probably will not actually solve everyone's problems. It will just give them several new ones to worry about over the weekend.
