‘Cupertino’ Trailer: Mike Colter Takes on Silicon Valley’s Tech Giants in New CBS Drama

Mike Colter is ready to take on Silicon Valley, and the latest look at CBS’ Cupertino makes it clear he isn't picking a small fight.

CBS has released a new trailer for the upcoming legal drama, which stars Colter as Michael Price, an attorney who finds himself going up against some of the most powerful forces in the tech world. Created by Robert and Michelle King, the team behind The Good Wife, The Good Fight, Evil and Elsbeth, the series premieres Thursday, October 8.

Cupertino begins after Michael is cheated out of stock options by his former employer, a tech startup. Rather than accept what happened and move on, Michael joins forces with another recently fired attorney, Olivia Siffre, played by Rachel Keller. Together, they form a law firm built around representing people who have been taken advantage of by Silicon Valley's tech elite.

The new trailer leans heavily into that David vs. Goliath premise. Michael and Olivia aren't simply taking on individual bad actors; they're entering a world where wealthy companies and powerful people have the resources to make fighting back incredibly difficult. That puts the pair in a position to challenge an entire system while building a firm from the ground up.

The series also gives Colter another reunion with Robert and Michelle King following his memorable run as Lemond Bishop across The Good Wife and The Good Fight, as well as his role as David Acosta on Evil. This time, however, Colter is firmly at the center of the story as Michael attempts to turn what happened to him into an opportunity to fight for other people facing similarly powerful opponents.

Rachel Keller stars alongside Colter as Olivia, with Ella Stiller playing Michael's former assistant Christy Palladino. Nik Dodani, Busy Philipps and Renée Elise Goldsberry round out the main ensemble, while Joe Morton and Steven Pasquale are set to guest star in the series premiere.

The premiere episode, titled “Michael & Olivia,” will see the newly fired attorneys begin forming their own firm. Christy also gets involved, using her family connections to help Michael and Olivia get the operation off the ground as they prepare to take their fight directly to Silicon Valley's Goliaths.

With the Kings behind the series, Cupertino has plenty of legal-drama pedigree before its first case even begins. The latest trailer suggests CBS is also leaning into a timely target, using the courtroom to explore just how much power the tech industry holds and what happens when someone decides to fight back.

Cupertino premieres Thursday, October 8 at 10:01 p.m. ET/PT on CBS and will also stream on Paramount+.
