If you're a fan of the multiverse mayhem in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse  or simply love a moody detective drama, get ready because Nicolas Cage is officially swinging into the shadows in the first live-action Spider-Noir  series. Set to debut on MGM+ in the U.S. and globally on Prime Video in 2026, this unique superhero show is already generating buzz, thanks to a compelling first look at Cage in full costume and a premise that promises to mix superhero action with gritty noir storytelling. 🔥 Why Spider-Noir  Matters in the Expanding Marvel Universe The Marvel multiverse continues to stretch its narrative boundaries, and Spider-Noir  stands as a bold departure from traditional superhero fare. Set in a stylized 1930s New York City, this series will follow a hardened private investigator who once operated as the city’s only superhero and who now struggles with the ghosts of his past. Unlike the high-tech, modern-day adventures of Peter Parker, Spider-Noir  dives deep into pulp fiction aesthetics, featuring moody lighting, morally ambiguous characters, and gritty street-level crime. Nicolas Cage, who voiced the character in the Oscar-winning Into the Spider-Verse , now takes on the role in live-action, bringing his iconic gravitas and quirky intensity to a more mature, darker version of Spider-Man. 🎭 First Look: Nicolas Cage Suits Up as Spider-Man Noir Set photos and early promotional materials reveal Nicolas Cage in a faithful recreation of the Spider-Man Noir costume: black trench coat, leather gloves, fedora, ski mask, and combat boots. The visuals are straight out of a 1930s detective comic, blending perfectly with the show’s black-and-white noir aesthetic. Nicolas Cage in ‘Spider-Noir’ According to insiders, the production team even used black-and-white cameras during filming to enhance the period-accurate feel. This dedication to stylistic authenticity sets Spider-Noir  apart from anything currently in the Marvel TV catalog. Spider-Noir  is developed by Oren Uziel ( The Lost City ) and Steve Lightfoot ( The Punisher ), with acclaimed director Harry Bradbeer ( Fleabag , Killing Eve ) helming the first two episodes. This creative mix ensures the series will balance sharp storytelling, character depth, and cinematic flair. In addition to Cage, the series boasts a stellar supporting cast: Lamorne Morris Brendan Gleeson Li Jun Li Abraham Popoola Jack Huston Karen Rodriguez   Spider-Noir  will premiere on MGM+ in 2026 , followed by an international release via Prime Video . The first season will include eight 45-minute episodes . For fans looking to get a deeper, more grounded version of Spider-Man, this is your series. • Creed Universe Expands with ‘Delphi’ Series on Prime Video: Michael B. Jordan Returns to the Ring

Prime knows a star when it sees one. Coming in hot off the success of his film, Sinners (another collab with brilliant director Ryan Coogler) The Creed  cinematic universe is stepping back into the spotlight and this time on the small screen. Perfect for us here at The TV Cave. At Prime Video's recent Upfront presentation, the streaming giant officially announced ‘Delphi,’ a new original series that will dive deeper into the gritty, inspiring world of boxing made famous by the Creed  films. With Creed  star and executive producer Michael B. Jordan leading the charge, the series already has tongues wagging. Delphi: A New Chapter in the Creed Legacy Set in the iconic Delphi Boxing Academy, the gym where Adonis Creed trained in the Creed  film franchise, Delphi  will focus on the lives and careers of several young, up-and-coming fighters. These characters will train, struggle, and fight their way through the brutal world of professional boxing, all while carving their paths under the shadow of boxing legends. This logline sounds like the perfect series to offer something fresh in the Rocky Universe. Everyone knows and loves Rocky. Coogler and Jordan expanded on that love and it appears that they have done it again.  Will Michael B. Jordan Return as Adonis Creed While the full cast has yet to be revealed, Michael B. Jordan is not yet confirmed to return as Adonis Creed. Jordan, who helped direct and produce Creed III , will executive-produce Delphi through his production company, Outlier Society, alongside producer Liz Raposo. This marks another significant step in Jordan’s mission to expand the Creed  universe beyond the silver screen. We expect that Jordan may make a cameo appearance.  Familiar Faces and New Blood Although the cast list remains under wraps, given the show's gym setting, Wood Harris is expected to reprise his role as Tony “Little Duke” Evers, the current head trainer at Delphi Gym. Evers, whose father trained both Apollo Creed and Rocky Balboa, would connect the films to the series. Now, we do not know if Tessa Thompson (Bianca Creed), Phylicia Rashad (Mary Anne Creed), or Sylvester Stallone (Rocky Balboa) will appear. If we placed bets, we wouldn’t count on it. Stallone is busy with Tulsa King, Rashad with The Gilded Age and Thompson with the MCU. At the helm of the series is Marco Ramírez, who will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Joining him are Creed  producers Irwin Winkler, David Winkler, and Charles Winkler. Ready to step back into the ring? Let us know your hopes for the Delphi  series and which characters you’d love to see return!

  • Patrick Dempsey to Star in Memory of a Killer: Fox's Bold New Drama About a Hitman Battling Early-Onset Alzheimer’s

Patrick Dempsey is returning to prime time in a role unlike any he’s played before! Catch McDreamy as an aging hitman facing early-onset Alzheimer’s in Fox’s upcoming new drama, Memory of a Killer.  Why Memory of a Killer  Has Everyone Talking The series is based on the critically acclaimed 2003 Belgian film The Alzheimer Case  (also known internationally as The Memory of a Killer ), which itself was adapted from Jef Geeraerts' novel De Zaak Alzheimer . The original movie gained attention for its unique take on the hitman genre, introducing a protagonist whose cognitive decline interferes with his deadly assignments. Now, Fox brings this narrative to American audiences, anchored by one of television’s most beloved stars. The logline states, “ “Now Angelo must hunt down his mortal enemy while continuing to carry out hits without giving away his diagnosis and still making it home in time to cook dinner for his daughter. Memory of a Killer  is a redemptive story about a man who is losing his memory but gaining a conscience. Because Angelo knows he must stop history from repeating itself and save his family — before he forgets the past.” Patrick Dempsey’s Career Evolution: From McDreamy to Morally Torn Antihero This is a new look for our boy Patrick Dempsey. The world knows him as McDreamy from Grey’s Anatomy . Since leaving the show he has taken steps to shed his scrubs and try new things. His recent roles in European dramas and his work as a race car driver prove just that and Memory of a Killer  seems to answer that call. Dempsey plays Angelo , a seasoned contract killer who begins to experience symptoms of early-onset Alzheimer’s just as he uncovers suspicious details about his wife’s death. Haunted by fragmented memories and growing confusion, Angelo seeks redemption by unraveling a deeper conspiracy tied to his own shadowy past. Stay tuned for premiere dates and trailers because Memory of a Killer  might just become one of the most talked-about shows of the year.

  • Netflix's 'Forever' Review: A Tender, Timely Coming-of-Age Journey

Forever is a moody, modern coming-of-age drama set in the 2010s and based on Judy Blume’s novel of the same name. Adapted by Mara Brock Akil, the series reimagines the classic tale through a fresh lens with Black leads at the center. Fans of coming to age stories have long been asking for another that features black leads, Forever is a nice nod to those that precede it. While some book fans may argue the series strays too far from its source material, Forever  stands on its own as a poignant and powerful teen love story that balances heartache with hope. The series follows high school juniors Justin (Michael Cooper Jr.) and Keisha (Lovie Simone) as they navigate love, identity, and the looming uncertainty of life after graduation. Keisha is recovering from a very public sex scandal that forced her to switch schools, while Justin is grappling with the pressure of fulfilling his mother's academic dreams when his heart lies elsewhere, in music. They come from different worlds, but a chance meeting at a party where neither feels they belong sparks a connection that feels real, raw, and magnetic. Growing Pains The series starts on a quiet note, taking its time to develop the internal struggles of its leads. Justin’s world is shaped by expectations: a scholarship to a Division One basketball program or admission into Northwestern, ideally both. Meanwhile, Keisha is hiding from her past. She doesn't want to disappoint her hardworking mother, who has done nothing but make sacrifices to give her the best possible options and outcomes. However, her attempt to please her mother, partly by pretending to still date her ex, Christian, creates friction in her relationship with Justin, whom she sees secretly. It caused them to break up and make up more than once before finally hitting their stride. Love, Choices, and the Space In Between By the time graduation rolls around, so do big decisions. Keisha is accepted into Howard, and Justin gets into Northwestern. They discuss trying to make long distance work, but Keisha is looking forward to life at Howard. Justin cannot bear the thought of being too far from her so he suggests that he attend Howard. After a discussion, he realizes that he was clinging too hard. They loved hard, but maybe he needed to take a step back. They soon discover that real love doesn't always mean holding on—it can also mean learning to let go. The saying goes, 'if you love someone, let them go', the series does well with this idea and shows that growth sometimes means that you have to walk away to find yourself before you can truly give yourself to someone else. Sometimes, you must walk away to allow that person to find themselves. Final Thoughts With just eight episodes, Forever  is angsty but grounded, giving us flawed, vulnerable, and refreshingly real teens. The chemistry between Simone and Cooper Jr. carries the emotional weight of the show, and the soundtrack perfectly complements each moment, turning pivotal scenes into quiet symphonies of feeling. While the first episode takes a while to warm up, by episode two, the series hits its stride and never looks back. Whether you've read the book or not, Forever  is a thoughtful and beautifully told story about first love, second chances, and the journey to self-discovery. For this viewer, it's a ten out of ten. I think that the story can and should be continued. There is no word on whether this is intended to be one season or more, but I hope for a season two set after college. However, the series does stick to the book with the ending of episode 8. What did you think? Leave a comment and vote in our poll.

The show has already established itself as a leader in daytime TV, achieving impressive viewership gains and generating a buzz for its fresh approach to storytelling. With its renewal for a second season, Beyond the Gates  is set to continue breaking boundaries and offering audiences a deeper look into the lives of its powerful characters. What is “Beyond the Gates” and Why It Matters Beyond the Gates  is a gripping daytime drama set in one of the most affluent African American communities in the United States, located just outside of Washington, D.C. At the heart of the story is the Dupree family , a multi-generational household that defines Black royalty in this posh, gated neighborhood. However, behind the manicured lawns and luxurious mansions, secrets, scandals, and betrayals simmer beneath the surface, creating a potent mix of drama that has hooked audiences from day one. What sets this show apart is its portrayal of wealth, power, and privilege within a Black family —a narrative not often seen in daytime dramas. The Duprees are not only navigating family dynamics but also societal expectations, power struggles, and deep-rooted personal conflicts. Each episode is packed with intrigue, making it easy for viewers to get lost in the high stakes and emotional turmoil of the characters’ lives. Impressive Viewership Numbers: A Second Season Well-Deserved Since its debut, Beyond the Gates  has surpassed expectations in terms of viewership. Furthermore, multiplatform viewership  has surged by an impressive 67% , reflecting the growing number of people watching the series across different platforms, including streaming services like Paramount+ . One of the key metrics that demonstrate the show’s success is its ability to outperform its competitors. Beyond the Gates  has outpaced ABC’s General Hospital  by 7% among women 25-54  on broadcast, a key demographic for daytime soap operas. This is a significant achievement, especially given the fierce competition in the genre. With a multiplatform strategy  in place, viewers can catch up on episodes through CBS’s official streaming platforms, expanding its reach beyond traditional TV audiences. These exceptional ratings are a testament to the series’ popularity and underscore its potential for continued success. The announcement of its renewal for a second season is a direct reflection of the audience’s positive response to the show. What Sets “Beyond the Gates” Apart While many daytime dramas are set in more generic locations, Beyond the Gates  stands out with its unique setting. The story takes place in a wealthy suburban neighborhood  in Maryland, just outside Washington, D.C., which is home to one of the most affluent African American communities in the country. This setting brings a fresh perspective to daytime soap operas, offering a nuanced exploration of race, class, and power. The plot centers around the Dupree family , who live in a world of luxury, with sprawling mansions, manicured gardens, and tree-lined streets. However, behind the gates of this pristine community, there are hidden secrets, scandals, and power struggles that keep the drama high. This blending of family dynamics with social commentary on wealth and privilege makes the show relatable and intriguing to viewers. Beyond the Gates  offers an ensemble cast of well-developed characters, each of whom brings depth and complexity to the story. The Dupree family is at the core, but the show also delves into the lives of other characters living within and outside the gates of this elite community. The diverse cast brings a wide range of perspectives, creating rich interactions and dramatic storylines that keep viewers hooked. The characters are not just one-dimensional; they have their flaws, ambitions, and desires, making their actions feel real and relatable. This focus on character development  allows viewers to connect with the characters on a deeper level, enhancing the emotional investment in their lives. At its core, Beyond the Gates  is a family drama, but one with high stakes . From betrayals within the family to tense rivalries with neighbors, the show is filled with twists and turns that keep viewers on the edge of their seats. Whether it’s a business deal gone wrong or a secret affair, every episode brings new layers to the ongoing drama. The emotional stakes are high, and the consequences of the characters' actions often ripple throughout the entire community. The show also explores generational conflicts, with the older generation of the Dupree family trying to maintain control and power while the younger generation pushes for change. This dynamic creates tension and keeps the drama fresh and exciting. Behind the Scenes: The Talent Driving “Beyond the Gates” One of the key factors contributing to the success of Beyond the Gates  is the talented team behind the scenes. The show is a collaboration between CBS Studios  and the NAACP , produced in partnership with P&G Studios , a division of Procter & Gamble. The series is created and executive produced by Michele Val Jean , who brings her vision to life with the help of an impressive team of producers. Additional executive producers include Sheila Ducksworth , Julie Carruthers , Tracey Thompson , Leon W. Russell , Derrick Johnson , Kimberly Doebereiner , and Anna Saalfeld . Their combined expertise and creative vision have helped shape the show into what it is today—an innovative and engaging series that stands out in the daytime drama landscape. A Bright Future for “Beyond the Gates” With its renewal for a second season, Beyond the Gates  is poised to become one of the defining daytime dramas of the next decade. From its unique setting and complex characters to its remarkable viewership numbers and behind-the-scenes talent, the show has proven itself to be a game-changer for CBS and daytime television. Whether you’re a longtime fan or someone just discovering the series, there’s no better time to jump in and experience the drama, intrigue, and excitement of Beyond the Gates . This strategic acquisition adds a nostalgic game show punch to the week. 🧪 Midseason Surprises While fall remains relatively lean, Fox is stocking its bench with a variety of midseason series: Best Medicine  – A one-hour comedy starring Josh Charles, set to pair with Doc . Memory of a Killer  – A high-stakes thriller based on the Belgian film De Zaak Alzheimer , centered on a hitman battling early-onset Alzheimer’s. Fear Factor: The Next Chapter  – A bold reboot of the early-2000s NBC competition series, promising a bigger, bolder, and more daring edition. Held for Midseason: What’s Not Coming Just Yet Fox is saving plenty of firepower for 2026, including returning shows and new entries like: American Dad!  (returning to Fox) Animal Control Beat Shazam Best Medicine Don’t Forget the Lyrics! Extracted The Faithful Family Guy Fear Factor: The Next Chapter Going Dutch Grimsburg Kitchen Nightmares The Masked Singer Memory of a Killer Next Level Baker  (Holiday Special) Next Level Chef Renewal Status: What’s Still Up in the Air? While Fox has locked in much of its lineup, some series remain in limbo: The Cleaning Lady  and Alert: Missing Persons Unit  – Awaiting renewal, pending performance of their current seasons. Accused  – As an anthology series with a rotating cast, it operates on a different timetable and isn't bound by traditional renewal cycles. Farmer Wants a Wife  and The Great North  – Fate yet to be determined. Fox’s 2025 Fall TV schedule reflects a more focused, event-driven strategy, with fewer scripted nights and a heavy reliance on reality, sports, and animation.
