Patrick Dempsey to Star in Memory of a Killer: Fox's Bold New Drama About a Hitman Battling Early-Onset Alzheimer’s

Smiling man in a gray suit and tie against a blurred dark background with text. Sophisticated and confident mood.

Patrick Dempsey is returning to prime time in a role unlike any he’s played before! Catch McDreamy as an aging hitman facing early-onset Alzheimer’s in Fox’s upcoming new drama, Memory of a Killer.

Why Memory of a Killer Has Everyone Talking

The series is based on the critically acclaimed 2003 Belgian film The Alzheimer Case (also known internationally as The Memory of a Killer), which itself was adapted from Jef Geeraerts' novel De Zaak Alzheimer. The original movie gained attention for its unique take on the hitman genre, introducing a protagonist whose cognitive decline interferes with his deadly assignments. Now, Fox brings this narrative to American audiences, anchored by one of television’s most beloved stars.

The logline states, ““Now Angelo must hunt down his mortal enemy while continuing to carry out hits without giving away his diagnosis and still making it home in time to cook dinner for his daughter. Memory of a Killer is a redemptive story about a man who is losing his memory but gaining a conscience. Because Angelo knows he must stop history from repeating itself and save his family — before he forgets the past.”

Patrick Dempsey’s Career Evolution: From McDreamy to Morally Torn Antihero

This is a new look for our boy Patrick Dempsey. The world knows him as McDreamy from Grey’s Anatomy. Since leaving the show he has taken steps to shed his scrubs and try new things. His recent roles in European dramas and his work as a race car driver prove just that and Memory of a Killer seems to answer that call.

Dempsey plays Angelo, a seasoned contract killer who begins to experience symptoms of early-onset Alzheimer’s just as he uncovers suspicious details about his wife’s death. Haunted by fragmented memories and growing confusion, Angelo seeks redemption by unraveling a deeper conspiracy tied to his own shadowy past.

Stay tuned for premiere dates and trailers because Memory of a Killer might just become one of the most talked-about shows of the year.
