Victorious Is Back! Netflix Sets Hollywood Arts Premiere Date

Well, well, well... look who decided to put on their uniform and head back to Hollywood Arts. The Victorious universe is officially returning with Netflix's highly anticipated spinoff Hollywood Arts, and the latest update has us dusting off our old school bags and preparing for another round of musical performances, ridiculous personalities and teenage drama. The new series brings Daniella Monet back as Trina Vega, this time with Trina returning to her former high school as a substitute teacher while a brand-new generation of students tries to survive the halls that once gave us Tori, Jade, Cat, Andre, Beck and Robbie.

And yes, we know what you're thinking: TRINA is the teacher?! Honestly, the idea is so wonderfully Trina that we almost can't believe nobody thought of it sooner. The character who spent the original series desperately chasing her own entertainment career is now stepping into a completely different role, and if the premise is any indication, she may finally discover that mentoring young performers is something she is actually good at.

Welcome Back to Hollywood Arts

Hollywood Arts picks up years after the events of Victorious and brings viewers back to the performing arts high school that served as the center of the original Nickelodeon sitcom. This time, however, the spotlight belongs to a new group of ambitious students who are determined to make their own mark, while Trina attempts to figure out what comes next for her own career.

The new class includes Alyssa Miles as Emmy, Peyton Jackson as Qwest, Martin Kamm as Oscar, Emmy Liu-Wang as Pepper and Erika Swayze as Jen Z, giving the series a completely new ensemble to follow. Yvette Nicole Brown is also set to appear as Principal Helen Dubois, meaning Trina is going to have somebody watching her while she attempts to convince everyone that she absolutely knows what she's doing. We love a questionable career decision, especially when Trina Vega is involved.

Trina Vega Is Finally Getting Her Moment

Let's be honest: Trina was never exactly the character we expected to see leading the next chapter of the Victorious universe. That is precisely why this works. Instead of simply recreating the original series with a new group of teenagers, Hollywood Arts is taking one of its most recognizable supporting characters and giving her an entirely different purpose.

According to Netflix's premise, Trina returns to her alma mater as an unqualified substitute teacher, initially hoping to revive her acting career before discovering that she may have a genuine talent for helping the next generation of performers. That setup gives the show plenty of room for comedy while also allowing Trina to grow beyond the character fans remember from the original series.

And can we just appreciate the phrase "unqualified substitute teacher" for a moment? Because if Trina Vega walks into a classroom claiming she has everything under control, we already know somebody needs to call the principal.

What About Tori, Jade, Cat and the Rest of the Gang?

Naturally, longtime Victorious fans are going to want to know whether Victoria Justice, Ariana Grande, Elizabeth Gillies, Avan Jogia, Leon Thomas III or Matt Bennett will appear. For now, Netflix's confirmed cast centers on Monet and the new students, so fans shouldn't expect the original crew to suddenly take over the series.

That doesn't mean the new show is ignoring its roots. Hollywood Arts is designed to exist within the world established by Victorious, and the series is filled with callbacks to the original school and its history. The goal appears to be giving longtime viewers plenty of nostalgia while allowing the new cast to become characters audiences can actually get invested in rather than simply recreating the old group with different names.

That may be the smartest way to approach a Victorious follow-up. We don't need another version of Tori's story. We already have Tori's story. Give us something new while letting us occasionally scream, "WAIT, I REMEMBER THAT!" from the couch.

Netflix Is Giving Hollywood Arts a Big Episode Order

Netflix has ordered 26 episodes of Hollywood Arts, giving the spinoff plenty of room to establish its new characters and expand the world beyond what we saw in the original series. Production began in Vancouver and wrapped earlier this year, so the show is officially moving from nostalgia-fueled idea to an actual television comeback.

The series was created by Jake Farrow and Samantha Martin, with Farrow bringing an especially strong connection to the original franchise after working on Victorious. Monet is also serving as an executive producer, making her return to the role of Trina more than just a cameo appearance. She is helping shape the next chapter of the world she originally inhabited as a performer.

When Does Hollywood Arts Premiere on Netflix?

Here's the date you've been waiting for: Netflix will premiere Hollywood Arts on October 15, 2026. The series will debut on Netflix before eventually making its way to Nickelodeon and Paramount+, giving the Victorious universe another opportunity to reach both longtime fans and viewers who weren't even watching television when the original series premiered.

The timing is also pretty perfect because Victorious originally aired from 2010 through 2013, meaning more than a decade has passed since fans last had a regular television series set inside Hollywood Arts. Now, the school is getting another class of performers, and Trina Vega is somehow the adult in the room. We are going to need a minute with that one.

For fans who grew up watching Victorious, Hollywood Arts has the potential to be a very fun trip down memory lane without simply trying to recreate the past. Trina is returning, a new group of students is taking over the school, and Netflix is giving the franchise enough episodes to really build its next generation.

So yes, we are going back to Hollywood Arts. Whether Trina is actually qualified to teach is a completely different conversation, but considering this is Trina Vega we're talking about, we're pretty sure the journey is going to be entertaining either way.

Clear your October 15 calendar, because Hollywood Arts is officially ready to make its entrance. And if you suddenly find yourself humming "Make It Shine," don't blame us. Blame nostalgia.
