The CW's Fall Schedule Is Bringing Back Law & Order Toronto and Private Eyes

Smiling man and woman stand back-to-back before a colorful blurred harbor cityscape.

The CW is getting ready to bring some familiar faces, fresh cases and plenty of murder mysteries to its fall schedule. The network has officially announced premiere dates for two of its upcoming scripted offerings, including the U.S. return of Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent for Season 2 and the highly anticipated Private Eyes West Coast, which brings Jason Priestley and Cindy Sampson back together for a new chapter of their detective adventures. Both series will make their CW debuts on Monday, October 5, 2026, giving viewers a new reason to keep Mondays reserved for crime-solving.

And honestly, The CW seems to know exactly what we want. Give us two detectives, a suspicious death, a bunch of people with questionable stories and enough twists to make us start playing amateur investigator from our couches, and we are probably staying put.

Law & Order Toronto Season 2 Is Coming to The CW

First up is Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent, which returns to The CW with 10 new episodes beginning Monday, October 5 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The Canadian Law & Order spinoff follows Detective Sergeants Henry Graff, played by Aden Young, and Frankie Bateman, played by Kathleen Munroe, as they tackle some of Toronto's most high-profile homicide cases.

The detectives will once again have plenty of backup from the Specialized Criminal Investigations Unit, including Inspector Vivienne Holness, Deputy Crown Attorney Theo Forrester, pathologist Dr. Lucy Da Silva and tech expert Mark Yohannes. The series takes inspiration from some of Canada's most infamous headlines while digging into the complicated intersections of family, love, money and power. Basically, if somebody thought they could get away with something just because they live in Toronto, Graff and Bateman would like a word.

The timing also puts Law & Order Toronto in an interesting spot for fans of the larger franchise. Its Season 2 premiere arrives just days before NBC launches new seasons of Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU on October 8, giving viewers plenty of opportunities to get their detective fix across both sides of the border.

Private Eyes West Coast Is Bringing Back a Fan-Favorite Duo

Then there is the series we did not realize we needed until now. Private Eyes West Coast premieres at 8 p.m. ET/PT on October 5, immediately leading into Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent, and it reunites original Private Eyes stars Jason Priestley and Cindy Sampson as private investigators Matt Shade and Angie Everett.

This time around, Matt and Angie have left their Toronto private investigation firm behind and attempted to settle into a quieter life on Canada's West Coast. Naturally, because television detectives are apparently incapable of enjoying a peaceful evening, their new life is interrupted when a night out puts them at the scene of a murder involving a woman accused of killing her boyfriend with a steak knife. When the duo becomes convinced she may be innocent, they find themselves pulled right back into the investigation game.

The new series will follow Matt and Angie as they attempt to establish their private investigation business in a new city without the familiar network of contacts they relied on in Toronto. Their cases will take them everywhere from the wilderness of British Columbia to the surfing community of Tofino, giving the revival a new setting while keeping the detective partnership fans already know intact.

The CW Has a Little More Coming This Fall

The CW's fall schedule is not stopping with its two scripted additions. Scrabble, hosted by Craig Ferguson, and Trivial Pursuit, hosted by LeVar Burton, are also set to return for their second seasons on Thursday, October 1. Both game shows have already been renewed for Season 3, while Police 24/7 has also been picked up for another season.

That gives The CW a mix of scripted mysteries, reality programming, game shows and returning favorites as the network heads into the new television season. For viewers who like their fall TV schedules with a little variety, there should be plenty of options to choose from once October arrives.

When Do Law & Order Toronto and Private Eyes West Coast Premiere?

Mark the calendar for Monday, October 5, 2026, because The CW is turning the night into a mini crime-TV event. Private Eyes West Coast kicks things off at 8 p.m. ET/PT, followed by Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent Season 2 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Both series will feature 10 episodes in their upcoming seasons.

For fans who have been waiting to see what comes next for Graff and Bateman, Season 2 offers another batch of high-profile Toronto cases, while Private Eyes West Coast gives Matt and Angie a completely new environment to navigate. Add in the return of Priestley and Sampson, and The CW may have found a pretty solid way to make Monday nights feel a whole lot more interesting.

So yes, grab the snacks and prepare to start accusing fictional characters of crimes again. The CW's fall crime lineup officially begins October 5, and Monday nights are about to get very suspicious.
