The Biggest TV Picks Tonight
If you're looking for the shows most likely to dominate the conversation, there are several obvious contenders.
Reacher Returns With Season 4
Jack Reacher is back, and this time a random encounter on a Philadelphia subway sends him into another dangerous mystery. The Season 4 premiere drops with the first three episodes, so Prime Video subscribers have plenty of Reacher to chew through immediately.
X-Men '97 Season 2 Comes to an End
The animated superhero favorite reaches its Season 2 finale on Disney+. The X-Men are already dealing with plenty of personal baggage, and tonight's episode promises to bring their history roaring back into the present. If you've been watching all season, this is definitely not the night to accidentally wander onto social media before watching.
Big Brother Has Another Power of Veto Battle
Over on CBS, the Big Brother house remains as unpredictable as ever. Six houseguests compete for the Power of Veto, including current nominees Barrett, Chuk and Haley. And as longtime fans know, the Power of Veto can turn a seemingly straightforward eviction plan upside down in approximately five seconds.
The Valley Reunion Keeps the Drama Coming
Bravo isn't letting the The Valley reunion cool down just yet. Part 2 puts Luke's relationship with Kirsten under the microscope and brings Jesse's drinking into the conversation. Translation: grab the snacks because this reunion clearly isn't finished airing everyone's business.
MasterChef Serves Up a Double Elimination
The remaining home cooks face off in pairs as they recreate dishes inspired by the judges' most cherished culinary memories. Unfortunately for two contestants, the pressure cooker ends with a double elimination. Nothing says Wednesday night like watching someone attempt to recreate a beloved dish while knowing their entire MasterChef future is sitting on the plate.
Late Night Brings More Problems
The night doesn't slow down after prime time. The Shards delivers two episodes at 9 PM ET on FX, while The Ark follows at 10 PM ET on Syfy with an escape plan and a mysterious explosion threatening Homebase. Meanwhile, House of Stassi brings more relationship drama to Freeform as Stassi's attempt to get everyone together for a relaxing staycation goes spectacularly off course. Because when has putting a group of people with unresolved problems in one place ever actually solved anything? Whether you're tuning in for scripted drama, reality TV, competition shows or streaming premieres, Wednesday, August 12 has enough television to keep the remote busy all night.
The TV Cave's advice? Pick your priorities early. Your DVR, streaming queues and sleep schedule may not survive the night.
