Disney Drops 2028 Slate: Incredibles 3 and Lilo & Stitch 2 Are Coming—Are We Ready?

Disney just dropped a calendar bomb that’s essentially a five-year plan for our wallets. In a move that surprised absolutely no one who has seen a box office chart lately, the Mouse House has officially pinned down 2028 release dates for two of its heaviest hitters: Incredibles 3 and a live-action Lilo & Stitch 2.

While the internet is already arguing over whether we need more supers or more CGI fur, Disney is busy measuring the drapes for its next billion-dollar penthouse. Here at The TV Cave, we’re dissecting whether these sequels are a stroke of genius or just a very expensive case of déjà vu.

The Incredibles 3: Super Suits and Seniority

Mark your calendars for June 16, 2028. That’s when the Parr family returns to save the world from whatever existential threat is currently ruining Bob’s midlife crisis. This time around, Peter Sohn (Elemental) is stepping into the director’s chair.

Original mastermind Brad Bird is sticking around for the screenplay, which is the only reason we aren’t currently panicking. The OG trio, Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, and Samuel L. Jackson are all expected back. Let’s just hope the plot doesn’t revolve around Jack-Jack going to college, because some of us aren't ready to feel that old yet.

Lilo & Stitch 2: The Pink Menace?

Then there’s the live-action Lilo & Stitch 2, slated for May 26, 2028. If you’re wondering why we’re getting a sequel to a remake, it’s because the 2025 live-action debut printed more money than a federal mint. We assume Angel (Experiment 624) is finally making her live-action debut.

The Verdict: A Mouse-Sized Gamble

Disney’s 2028 strategy is clear: if it ain't broke, sequel it until it is. With The Mummy 4 and a Hello Kitty movie also looming on the 2028 horizon, the multiplex is starting to look like a 2004 fever dream.

We’re cautiously optimistic. Pixar usually delivers when it comes to the Parrs, and the Lilo & Stitch franchise has a weirdly resilient heart. But by the time June 2028 rolls around, we’ll see if audiences are still hungry for more, or if we’re all just suffering from franchise fatigue.

Which of these 2028 blockbusters are you actually camping out for? Head over to the The TV Cave comments section and let us know if you're Team Elastigirl or Team Experiment 626.
