Good Omens Finale Trailer: 90-Minute Special Sets Emotional Endgame for Aziraphale and Crowley

Hold onto your bowler hats and Bentley keys, because Prime Video just dropped the Good Omens finale trailer, and it’s doing exactly what we feared: making us feel things. After a cliffhanger that left the fandom in a state of collective cardiac arrest, we finally have a glimpse of how this 6,000-year-old slow burn concludes.

The newly released footage confirms that instead of a full season, we are getting a 90-minute special on May 13, 2026. It’s a bittersweet pill to swallow, but if the trailer is any indication, those ninety minutes will be packed with enough pining and supernatural bureaucracy to fuel a dozen fan fictions.

A Reunion Written in the Stars (and Soho)

The trailer opens exactly where it needed to: the unbearable tension between our favorite angel and demon. Aziraphale, looking predictably overwhelmed in his new gig as Supreme Archangel, seems to be finding out that middle management in Heaven is just as soul-crushing as it is on Earth. Meanwhile, Crowley appears to have spent his time away perfecting the art of the dramatic pout in the back of his Bentley.

The narrative pivot focuses on the Second Coming, a plot point teased since the early days of the series. The stakes are predictably biblical, but the real heart of the trailer lies in the quiet, sharp exchanges between David Tennant and Michael Sheen. Their chemistry remains the only reason the universe hasn't folded in on itself yet.

Navigating the Behind-the-Scenes Shift

It’s no secret that the road to this finale has been bumpy. The shift from a full season to a singular special follows the departure of showrunner Neil Gaiman from the production phase. While the script draws from the long-discussed sequel ideas Gaiman shared with the late Terry Pratchett, the execution feels lean and focused.

The trailer highlights a distinct "us against the world" energy. We see glimpses of London gangsters, celestial red tape, and the return of some familiar faces from the bookshop, all building toward a conclusion that feels final. There’s a sense of urgency here that suggests the show is trimming the fat to get straight to the emotional payoff we’ve been waiting for since that devastating elevator ride.

Will They or Won’t They (Save the World)?

As the Good Omens series finale approaches, the question isn’t just whether they can stop the apocalypse, they’ve done that before but whether they can actually stand to be in the same room while doing it. The trailer leans heavily into the themes of forgiveness and the gray areas between "good" and "evil," punctuated by the show's signature dry wit.

For those of us at The TV Cave who have followed every miracle and mishap, this trailer is a high-octane reminder of why we fell in love with these two idiots in the first place. It’s slick, it’s heartbreaking, and it’s unapologetically British.

Mark your calendars for May 13. Whether it ends in a wine-soaked celebration or more celestial tragedy, we'll be here to recap every second of it.
