Coven Academy Renewed for Season 2 at Disney+ After Magical Streaming Success

Class is back in session at Crescent Veil Academy! Disney has officially renewed Coven Academy for Season 2, proving that witches, warlocks, forbidden romance, and a little supernatural chaos are exactly what fans have been craving.
The announcement arrived Monday, October 26, less than a month after the supernatural teen drama made its debut. Apparently, all it takes is a mysterious boarding school, a few dangerous secrets, and some ridiculously complicated love lives to cast a spell on streaming audiences. Honestly, we're not surprised. And Disney certainly has the numbers to back up its decision.
Coven Academy Casts a Spell on Streaming
According to Disney's reported streaming figures, Coven Academy accumulated an impressive 20.3 million global hours watched across Disney+ and Hulu during its first three weeks. The show's opening chapter also attracted more than 30 million views across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
The series also became the No. 1 streaming show among teenagers ages 12–17 during its premiere weekend, while ranking among the top five streaming series across all age groups. Not bad for a freshman drama competing for attention in an increasingly crowded streaming landscape.
Created by Tim Federle, whose previous credits include High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, Coven Academy follows Briar (Malina Weissman), a teenager whose arrival at a mysterious New Orleans boarding school introduces her to a world of witches, warlocks, vampires, and secrets that could change everything.
Along the way, Briar develops powerful friendships with fellow witches Sasha (Jordan Leftwich) and Tegan (Ora Duplass), while finding herself caught up in dangerous supernatural politics and romantic complications. The cast also includes Malachi Barton, Louis Thresher, Tiffani Thiessen, and Devon Sawa.
What Can Fans Expect From Season 2?
While Disney hasn't revealed an official premiere date, production schedule, or episode count for Season 2, there's certainly no shortage of unfinished business at Crescent Veil.
Season 1 delivered plenty of twists, complicated relationships, and revelations that left the door wide open for another chapter. Between Briar's personal discoveries, the supernatural threats surrounding the academy, and several relationships that are anything but straightforward, these characters have plenty to deal with when classes resume.
The first season was released in an unusual format consisting of 21 shorter chapters, allowing fans to move through the story quickly. Whether Disney plans to continue that approach for Season 2 remains to be seen.
For now, the renewal is welcome news for fans who have already made themselves comfortable in Crescent Veil's chaotic halls. And considering everything these witches have already been through, we're guessing their sophomore year won't be any less dramatic.
Season 1 of Coven Academy is currently streaming on Disney+ and Hulu, with episodes also available through Freeform On Demand.
