Amy Poehler’s New Peacock Comedy DIG Unearths Official Trailer Ahead of November Premiere

Amy Poehler is trading Pawnee politics for ancient artifacts, and her latest comedy looks ready to dig up plenty of trouble. Peacock has released the official trailer and key art for DIG, a new 10-episode series that reunites Poehler with Parks and Recreation co-creator Michael Schur. The comedy arrives November 23, with the entire first season available to binge.
Set against the beautiful backdrop of Greece, DIG follows a group of archaeologists and college students spending their summer at an excavation site. Some are serious about uncovering history, while others seem considerably less enthusiastic about the whole digging situation. But when the group discovers a rare artifact, their summer adventure takes an unexpected turn, pulling them into a mystery much bigger than anything they signed up for.
Amy Poehler and Hugh Laurie Lead the Cast
Poehler stars as Elise, joining an ensemble that includes Hugh Laurie as Neville, Geraldine Viswanathan as Dylan, Antonia Thomas as Clare, and Fina Strazza as Patty. Together, the cast brings a mix of comedic talent and dramatic experience to a series that blends workplace chaos with an adventure that could change history.
Laurie's involvement adds another interesting dynamic. The actor, widely known for his dramatic work on House, also has an extensive comedy background, making him a natural fit for a show that promises plenty of eccentric personalities and clashing agendas.
Guest stars include Kayvan Novak, Jon Pointing, and Bonita Friedericy, adding even more familiar faces to the ensemble.
A Parks and Recreation Reunion With a Twist
One of the biggest draws of DIG is the creative reunion between Poehler and Schur, whose collaboration helped make Parks and Recreation one of television's most beloved comedies. This time, they're stepping away from small-town government and into the unpredictable world of archaeology.
The series is adapted from Kate Myers' novel Excavations, with Schur and J.J. Philbin serving as co-showrunners and executive producers. Poehler also serves as a co-creator and executive producer.
While the setting is a major departure from their previous collaboration, DIG has the ingredients for another entertaining ensemble comedy: ambitious personalities, questionable decisions, and a group of people forced to work together when things get wildly out of hand.
And really, what could go wrong when a bunch of archaeologists and college students stumble upon an artifact connected to an international conspiracy?
When Does DIG Premiere on Peacock?
All 10 episodes of DIG premiere Monday, November 23, 2026, exclusively on Peacock. The newly released trailer offers fans their latest look at the adventure awaiting Poehler and company.
With a familiar comedic partnership, a strong ensemble, and an archaeological mystery at its center, DIG could be one of Peacock's more intriguing new comedies heading into the holiday season.
