AMC Unveils First Yaga Trailer, Blending Ancient Folklore With Modern Mystery

San Diego Comic-Con continues to feed hungry television fans, and today’s biggest surprise came when the first teaser trailer for yaga series released footage during a packed panel presentation. AMC+ and Canada's Crave officially pulled back the curtain on this highly anticipated contemporary mystery thriller, giving us an eerie, stylized first look at an ancient Slavic folktale reimagined for modern audiences. The networks finalized the premiere strategy as well: the eight-episode, half-hour drama series will officially debut this October 2026, perfectly locking down a prime spot in your autumn streaming lineup.

The atmospheric footage immediately establishes a tense, coastal vibe that sets up a deeply layered detective puzzle. Based on the hit stage play by writer and showrunner Kat Sandler, the story centers on the sudden, unexplained disappearance of Henry Park (Hudson Williams), a wealthy young heir to a powerful local fishery. The initial footage introduces us to Rapp (Noah Reid), a private investigator who rolls into town to track the missing heir, only to find himself instantly clashing with a deeply defensive local detective named Carson (Clark Backo).

The real narrative hook arrives with the introduction of Katherine, played by the legendary Carrie-Anne Moss. Katherine is a charismatic university professor with a sharp wit, a secret life, and a distinct preference for much younger men.
