Peacock really brought down the hammer and not in a good way for fans of Mr. Throwback and Based on a True Story. The (other) bird app has canceled both those tv shows. Based on a True Story streamed for two seasons and starred Kaley Cuoco and Chris Messina and followed their married characters as they host a true crime podcast with a serial killer.  Mr. Throwback revolved around a memorabilia salesman who tries to rekindle a childhood friendship with NBA star Steph Curry which starred Adam Pally, Steph Curry (as himself) and Ego Nwodim. Unfortunately, Mr. Throwback only ran for one season unlike Based on a True Story which at least had 16 episodes over two seasons before getting chopped.  The logline for Mr. Throwback read, “A down-on-his-luck memorabilia dealer (Adam Pally) looks for redemption by reuniting with his sixth-grade teammate, NBA legend Steph Curry.” The premises seemed cool enough but there was not enough chatter about it online from fans. This could have led to the decision to ax it along with ratings, which has not been released with the news of cancellation for both shows.  Although it is always sad when a show gets canceled by a network, Adam Pally is hilarious and we look forward to what he has coming up next. There are always more Sonic the Hedgehog films. Ego Nwodim was also great in the series, and Steph Curry may have caught the acting bug. If not, there is always basketball. We hear he is an ok player on the court.  We reviewed season two of Based on a True Story back in November when it was released and you can check out that review here . This episode’s Flashbacks are interesting visuals that reveal Will and Rafael’s past. They are presented in five Acts. The episode starts with a knock on Will’s door. It's Rafael, and he’s there to tell him Grandma Pearl died. She had a stroke, and passed before he could get to her. Rafael is visually distressed and brokenhearted over the loss of his Grandma.  He’s clearly having a hard time dealing with the loss. He and his Grandma were making plans for Sonny's Birthday, and showed no signs of illness just the day before. Rafael can't tell his daughter her Grandma just died. Will gives him some advice on how to do that. Rafael can't function, and asks Will to help him with planning the funeral. He reminds Will that he knew her, and that a long time ago they were brothers. Will says yes and tells him we take care of Family. Will starts making plans. Rafael can only sit rubbing and holding Betty, as he silently cries.  The next morning at the GBI Office, Amanda chastises Jeremy, Will and Faith about making Faith’s son a CI. Will and Faith accept it and ask her if she’s ready for case plans. Faith begins with the breakdown of Jeremy and Rafael’s involvement in the DA’s Rico case. Emil Grant is the person behind the drug trafficking. They need to get evidence to prove it. Will says the timing is right because he’ll be with Rafael for the next two days helping him plan his Grandma’s funeral.  Amanda comments that the whole thing with Jeremy is a mess. She shares that Sunny’s been crying nonstop over the loss of her Great Grandmother. Amanda asks Will if he's ready to do this. He says Rafael needs to be stopped. Act One ’s Flashback takes place in 2004 and explains the backstory of how Will and Rafael became friends and brothers. They had a bombastic start. Grandma liked Will from the start. She calms them down, and goes to watch General Hospital, her favorite soap. It turns out they ALL Love watching it. They’re Super Fans! Present Day, Ormewood gets into a car accident when picking up Max at school. This turned out to be a symptom of something more serious with Ormewood’s health. He isn't feeling well and stumbles into stuff in a chair, as he leaves the room. Will and Rafael meet at the funeral home. Will tells him he needs to write the obituary. Act Two has Rafael and Will really becoming partners and close friends in the aftermath of Will getting fired from his job at a fast food restaurant. Rafael takes him to a storage locker and shows him a surprise. Rafael was already hustling, and finding ways to make money. Will tells Rafael the real value of his confiscated goods. Rafael says they are magic, and hugs Will. Returning to Present Day, Rafael tells the funeral director, the funeral has to be fit for a Quartermaine. He gets frustrated when the director doesn't know who that was. Will explains detailed specifics. Will and Rafael nerd out on General Hospital as Super Fans do. The funeral director is infatuated with Rafael. Will just wants to finish the funeral planning part.  Will calls Faith to start her part of the plan. She gives Jeremy the go-ahead. He can't find anything on Rafael's laptop, but does discover something else.  At the police station, Captain Heller gives Ormewood a file to read his handwritten report. He can't. The captain tells him to re-write it or do it on a computer. Ormewood confesses he wrote it at Cooper’s basketball game. He says his wife, Gina, is working a new job, and unable to take the kids. This was another indicator of Ormewood’s serious health condition. Angie delicately asks if he's drinking again. He says no and walks off angrily. Act Three Flashback shows Will helping sell expensive carpets out of their home garage. As Will and Rafael work out a deal with a customer, an angry gang shows up. This was an insightful memory for Will. Present Day, Amanda, Will, Faith and Jeremy are back in the conference room reviewing Jeremy's video of the money bin. Will realizes Rafael has always been involved in gangs. Faith volunteers to find the money bin. They are updating each other on tasks, when Rafael asks Will if the GBI breaks into computers. Will says they do, but so do other government agencies and rival criminals. Will tries to help Rafael, but  Emil interrupts them, and loudly tells. Rafael the money’s been moved, as they walk away. Act Four Flashback shows Will and Rafael being tied up by the gang. Rafael apologizes to the leader, and promises to pay him back. The leader tells them they are now working for him. The leader wants the money Rafael owes them. Will doesn't approve of the deal. Rafael tells him to follow his lead, and he’ll get them through it. Words that will ring true in their future, again. Ormewood turns in his re-written report to Captain Heller. He accepts it. Ormewood runs into Angie and knocks her down as he turns to leave. Ormewood has to rush out to pick up his kids. They are talking at the elevator when Ormewood passes out. He wakes up at the hospital ER, with Scott as his doctor. He needs to get to his son's play, but Scott says he has to undergo head trauma protocol because he hit his head on the floor. Scott later explains Ormewood’s X-rays to him, and tells him he has a tumor. Ormewood is hit hard by this news. He remembers his Dad died young, and doesn't want the same to happen to him.  Faith and Jeremy discuss Rafael's money bin at the GBI. He tells her how they move the money. Now everyone‘s looking for the money launderer and the money bin. She updates Amanda on their case findings. Amanda leaves to take Sunny to her Grandma’s memorial service. She and her Father, Rafael, give a moving eulogy. Rafael later thanks Will for all his help and they hug. Faith tells Jeremy that Rafael’s fixer is dead. She calls Will and gives him the news. Will sees a coffin brought into another room in the church. He opens it and finds the laundered money. He says the killers are coming to kill Rafael and take the money. Act Five Flashback has Will talking with the gang leader. He gives him his money and tells him he and Rafael aren't working for him anymore. They beat him when he walks away. Rafael kills the leader and tells Will he never wants to see him again. Rafael runs off. Back to the Present, in the Church, Will pulls Rafael away to arrest him. He says it's for his own good. Will tells him he knows everything, and about the money, too. Will says he can put him under protective custody. Rafael wants a deal that includes no prison. Emil comes in and tries to stop Will. Both Will and Rafael realize Emil is the killer. They leap over the coffin to get away before Emil and his partners begin firing. They want the money.  Will and Rafael are about to be killed when the FBI, SWAT and Faith come in.  Ormewood’s home watching an animal documentary when Max comes home. He shows them how he performed Mercutio at the school play. He’s Very Good! At Will’s house, Sunny tells Amanda how she missed staying with her, and hugs her. Amanda tells her she's going to do great things. Rafael tells Will that Grandma Pearl kept a scrapbook on him. He thought Will might like to have it. Will looks through it and is amazed. He knows Rafael planned everything. He and Sunny are going into the witness protection program, and they don't know where they’ll end up. Will says Sunny won't mind their new situation because she's got her Father back. This episode cleverly intertwined the past and present moments of Will and Rafael’s lives. They did become brothers, thanks to Grandma Pearl. Faith and Will working together gets things done, and saves lives, especially Jeremy’s! Wonder what they find out about Ormewood’s tumor. Will and Rafael are General Hospital Super Fans was a cute twist that drew them together. This was a great episode!

A snow storm, a traitor and an executioner’s boyfriend. It’s a perfect night for chaos and the writers of Found unleashed a cascading storm on our M&A friends. As everyone races to confirm Heather’s true identity, Margaret continues her search for who took Jamie. What memory did Sir uncover in her mental rolodex? Is it someone from her flashbacks? And where did this snowy-storm come from? [SPOILERS] The final puzzle piece confirmed that someone close to Margaret took Jamie. It was Carrie, a friend she made at the bus station who helped her pass out fliers to find Jamie. Carrie gave Margaret a picture drawn by her little boy and said it was a symbol of hope that Jamie will be found. “The clouds will always part. You just gotta give it a minute, ” Carrie said in a flashback. With a quiet fury, Margaret invites Carrie to her home.  “I keep my promises….Carrie, my son, my baby boy is home,” Margaret tells her. I must say, I was not expecting a lovely table with tea, macaroons and Jamie’s toy train during this confrontation. Margaret is so patient for a confession, she pulls out a scrabble board and they play in candle light due to a power outage caused by the storm. Giving Carrie a nudge, Margaret spells Traitor on the board. As she tries to deflect the allegations, Carrie WHACKS Margaret on the head with a bottle. Carrie admits taking Jamie because her son died and god gave her another one. She saved his life from Margaret who was ungrateful.  For a moment you feel for Carrie, but in true Found story formation, you can’t forget this woman took another mother’s child. And ultimately destroyed Margaret’s family. Jamie arrives and sees Margaret on the floor. Carrie tries to persuade him to leave with her but he chooses to stay and calls for help. “My name is Jamie, not Nicholas,” he said. A great glimpse into his relationship with Carrie and the pull he has toward Margaret to not leave her alone. This young man has a lot of healing to go through. At the prison, Sir realizes Heather’s cover is blown by Margaret and that she should leave town. Heather/Lena is just like her brother and believes Gabi Mosely is not worthy of him. “You want to sacrifice me for her. Your precious Gabrielle is responsible for destroying the only family I have left. I’m not running and you can’t stop me from doing what needs to be done.” How far will Lena go to save Sir from his obsession with Gabi? Sir gets another visitor, one he has been eagerly waiting for - Gabrielle. But she is not alone. She brings Ethan with her (aka the executioner’s boyfriend). As Gabrielle asks Sir about Heather, the power goes out and the prisoners are set loose. Sir has only one goal and it’s to protect Gabrielle from harm. Complete chaos swarms around them, but Gabi only wants to get to Ethan and make sure he is safe.  “You took my penance from me” Gabi says to Sir. “Maybe I owe my life for what I did…maybe death is the only way for me to rid myself from you.”  Sir continues to be a cloud over Gabi she can’t cut loose. And though he refuses to let anything happen to her, Gabi is willing to sacrifice her safety for Ethan and Dhan. She cannot bear the thought of bringing any more ache to her team. Lucky for them, Dhan had inside contacts who were able to rescue Gabi and Ethan. After a lengthy wait, we finally see Lacey and Zeke back in the same space, alone. The anticipation my dear friends have been building and to finally see them kiss again was oh so worth it. Did anyone else have a goofy smile while kicking their feet a little? As the power goes out during this sweet moment, it activates Zeke’s agoraphobia (fear of places and situations that might cause panic, helplessness). During his panic, Zeke shares he didn’t get a generator because he  was distracted and now he is disconnected from the world. Lacey tries to support him but Zeke can’t hear her.  We were so close to see what would be between these two, but happily ever after has been pushed further away. With the power back on, Lacey asks, “how can we start a relationship if we can’t talk about what you went through.” Zeke says he had a moment and if Lacey can’t respect that maybe they should stay apart. And with that, Lacey puts her key on the table and leaves.  As the episode closes, we see Gabi crawl into bed with Margaret at the hospital. “I finally found the monster,” Margaret said and she released all those years of who took Jamie from her and why. Back at M&A, Gabi reaches out to Ethan for an emergency session. As she leaves, the real Heather Tollin Rogers appears at M&A. Lena is really Sir’s sister. But where is she?  NBC airs on Thursday nights, stream next day on Peacock.

Actor Nicky Katt best known for his tv role in Boston Public and movie roles in Dazed and Confused  (starring Jason London and Matthew McConaughey) and Boiler Room  (starring Giovanni Ribisi and Nia Long) has passed away at the age of 54 as reported by The Hollywood Reporter who confirmed the news with Katt’s attorney, John Sloss. At this time, no further information like cause of death has been revealed to the public.  UPDATE: Katt's sister has released a statement telling Deadline, "He died by suicide after battling with depression — one that he fought bravely but quietly. This is a pain no family should endure, yet far too many do. Mental illness is real, it is powerful and it is often invisible. We hope that by sharing this, we can help break the silence and stigma that so often surrounds mental health struggles.” If you or someone you know is struggling there is help. Visit https://988lifeline.org/. On Boston Public Katt played a character named Harry Senate, one of the teachers. Eventually Katt was written out during the third season of the popular series. His character took a leave of absence after displaying mental issues. In the movie Boiler Room he played Greg Weinstein, an associate at a brokerage firm who recruits Seth, the main character, to work with him. One of my favorite films, his performance definitely was a standout in the film.  He did his job in making you want to take a whack at his character when necessary. He had a commanding presence whenever he was on screen, that is undeniable. He is one of those actors that I personally felt should have broken out to be one of Hollywood’s “biggest stars” and I am sure there are some out there that would agree . Boiler Room is one of his more recognizable roles other than his time on Boston Public . He had booked some popular films like Batman & Robin , Strange Days  and A Time to Kill  proving he was just one of those one of a kind actors.  He also appeared in other tv shows throughout his career in smaller roles like Friends and Law & Order.  Katt grew up in South Dakota and was previously married before divorcing in 2001. Our condolences go out to his family, friends, loved ones and colleagues.

This tv news comes as a shock as Mythic Quest was renewed for two seasons (season 3 and season 4) in 2021. AppleTV+ has changed its tune and has canceled the series, meaning it will not return for a season 5.  Season 4 finished its run not too long ago on March 26 after premiering in January. It gets even weirder because coming to AppleTV+ next week is a new finale episode of the series with a brand new ending. So, fans have something to look forward to before the show goes into oblivion.  The original comedy followed a video game production company as they launched their game, you guessed it, Mythic Quest. The cast included Rob McElhenney, Judah Prehn, Ashly Burch,   Jessie Ennis, Imani Hakim,David Hornsby and Charlotte Nicdao. Famous guest stars over the seasons included rapper Snoop Dogg, actors Joe Manganiello  and Anthony Hopkins to name a few. The series received high ratings among Rotten Tomato critics scoring in the high 90s to 100% some seasons. So this cancellation news can feel like a gut punch to some fans.  The series executive producers Megan Ganz, David Hornsby, and Rob McElhenney released a statement saying, “Endings are hard. But after four incredible seasons, ‘Mythic Quest’ is coming to a close. We’re so proud of the show and the world we got to build—and deeply grateful to every cast and crew member who poured their heart into it. To all our fans, thank you for playing with us. To our partners at Apple, thank you for believing in the vision from the very beginning. Because endings are hard, with Apple’s blessing we made one final update to our last episode—so we could say goodbye, instead of just game over.” Sometimes in the world of TV, shows don’t always bow out. Perhaps Mythic Quest can find life again.

Boy, you so crazy! A whole Martin  spin-off is in the works and we are kind of scratching our heads and cheering at the same time. Cheering for a new show offering some representation on television but scratching our heads at the premise. If you have been living under a rock, the original Martin  sitcom followed radio disc jockey, later turn talk show host as he navigated romantic relationships and friendships in Detroit. Comedian Martin Lawrence played the main character and the show remains a part of the culture.  The cast of Martin  recently sat down for a reunion so one could hope that perhaps a reboot would not be far behind. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air  did get new life at Peacock with the reimagined reboot simply titled Bel-Air  which will be airing its final season in the fall or summer as Peacock has not made that clear. So, with Bel-Air  ending now would be a great time to fill that gap with another popular 90s sitcom, Martin . BET+ sort of got that message when the network announced a green light series order for a new show. The issue is not centered around Martin or his friends but rather Tommy Davidson’s one time character Varnell Hill. The character appeared in a two part episode but was never talked about again. You can rewatch his episode titled “Hollywood Swinging” as Martin is available to stream on BET+ and Netflix.  Davidson released a statement saying, “Did you miss me? Well, now you don’t have to! I’m excited and honored to be a part of such a creative project with the brilliant mind of Martin Lawrence, over 30 years in the making. Fans have requested it and now it’s coming to BET+!” What will this new show be about, that happens to be executive produced (and co-created) by Martin Lawrence himself? Varnell Hill  is being pitched as a workplace comedy that deep dives into the crazy world of producing television shows.  Not sure this is what we ordered but the rumors are that Martin Lawrence will appear in a few episodes as Martin Payne. No word yet on other cast members, Tisha Campbell, Carl Anthony Payne II and Tichina Arnold. As we know, Thomas Mikal Ford who played Tommy passed away in 2016. I guess the doctor really is out. At least Arizona Robbins is really “gone gone” at Grey’s Anatomy . Granted she has not been a series regular for quite some time but she did just guest star not too long ago. Great news for Jessica Capshaw but sad news for Arizona Robbins fans. Deadline has reported that Capshaw will be joining the cast of the new 9-1-1 spinoff “ 9-1-1 Nashville ” starring opposite lead Chris O’Donnell. While we know that O’Donnell will be playing fire captain Don Sharpe who is described as “ a rugged fire captain and rodeo rider who runs Nashville’s busiest firehouse with his beloved son. Don’s a devoted husband and family man but he has his secrets,” Capshaw’s character has yet to be revealed. Could she be the paramedic captain on the rig or the stay at home wife? She does have the “medical training” if she retained anything from her time as the head of pediatric surgery at Grey Sloan Memorial. She also has credits on ER  and Bones , medical shows are definitely her niche.  There have been no further confirmations of her casting from ABC or Disney. What we do know is that this new spin-off will air this upcoming tv fall season and will not feature any other 9-1-1 universe characters (so far). They said that about Lone Star and we got a crossover episode with Hen, Buck and Eddie going to Texas to help fight a fire.  Who wouldn’t want to see Buck and Chris O’Donnell get stuck in a tight space and figure some things out? That dynamic would be really interesting with Buck just getting on Chris O’Donnell’s last nerve. Capshaw and O’Donnell on paper seem like a good match.  Other than Grey’s Anatomy , Capshaw’s television credits include Tell Me Lies and The Practice.  What do you think of this casting news? Taylor Sheridan is keeping it in the family so to speak. He loves to recycle actors for his hit tv shows and that is exactly what happened with the casting news for Season 2 of Landman. Lead Billy Bob Thornton let it slip that 1883 actor Sam Elliott will be joining the show in Season 2. Super fans will recall that Billy Bob Thornton had a small role in 1883. We’ve seen this before with actresses Danielle Vasinova and Michelle Randolph who are a part of the Sheridanverse.  Billy Bob told Deadline, “I go way back with [Sam] to the mid-80s. Yes, I’m old.” Now was he supposed to tell everyone about this casting news? My money is on no. I did not have Billy Bob being the Tom Holland of the Sheridanverse and just dropping spoilers. Anything else interesting from his interview with Deadline? Well yes, he also confirmed that Andy Garcia and Demi Moore will have front burner storylines going into the new season. No further information was given about the role Sam Elliott will play or the storyline that awaits Andy Garcia and Demi Moore. It is no surprise seeing how Demi just had a really great awards season. Don’t call it a comeback!  Billy Bob plays Tommy Norris, a landman in the oil business located in deep West Texas. A change of pace from Montana where the other shows take place. The character of Norris had to deal with competing companies vying for rights to the oil. The official synopsis reads, “ roughnecks and wildcat billionaires are fueling a boom so big it’s reshaping our climate, our economy, and our geopolitics.”  Billy Bob also gave some insight into how he booked the show, “ At the premiere in Vegas, Taylor and I were sitting at dinner, and he said, ‘Listen, I’m writing this show. It’s called Landman. It’s about looking behind the curtain of the oil business. And I thought, well, that’s interesting, that hasn't really been done before, at least not for a while. The thing that really appeals to me about the character, he’s someone who has the weight of his world on his shoulders every day of his life, and problems just come at him from every direction — including his family, friends, co-workers, everybody." It will be nice to see Sam Elliott back in the Sheridanverse. Even though his character is a mystery and no one else has confirmed his casting, it is safe to say that the two characters will have no connection.  Landman has a 78% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Alexa, play Just a Friend by Biz Markie!  This week on All American, friends and boundaries are tested as the gang explore their true feelings with each other, it’s either now or never!  Amina is back from Baltimore and the tension between her Preach, and Coop is thick. Was the truth surrounding her mother’s death too much for her to handle?  Cassius is finally getting the recognition he wanted as the head football coach at Beverly. But what’s the cost of coming out of Billy Baker’s shadows? They tend to support each other through different situations under the category of friends, but… we all know better.  Coop. Coop. Coop. Right when we thought she had started to learn from previous choices, she decided to go on a date with Professor Breonna. Post breakup with Patience, juggling law school, and dealing with the fallout with Amina should be enough!  Hmm, for those that are team Tori and KJ, his emotional connection with Amina causes conflict between the two. Tori is caught in that all too familiar role of “just friends” but wanting more. S/o to her for speaking her mind and not settling for less. We see you, my girl!  With support from Amina, Khalil finally decided to ask Coop for help as it relates to street life and him needing a way out but Coop has to push past what she thinks he’s like and see him for the person he truly is. She supports him by initiating a meeting on his behalf, one that can ultimately free him from the gang life indefinitely.  Over at Layla’s as she waits for Coop, Professor Breonna bonds with Layla adding more depth into her storyline and shines light on a potential friendship that may be legally benefiting the both of them.  Cassius’ father, (guest star Steve Harris), makes an appearance in the stands of Beverly and stirs both fear and competitiveness in Cassius. He decided to let his star players play, but for what? His ego? His pride? One can’t help but wonder, what does he have to prove to his father and how deep does that attachment injury go?  Caught up in his new found freedom, Khalil makes a play for Amina, but oh how the tables turn! All season we have watched her attempt to make them more than friends, even having a fake relationship with KJ to make him jealous. However, the category is self-worth! After reconciling with Coop, Amina is able to see how much she is loved and cared for by the people in her village. So while standing on business, she tells Khalil it’s time for him to put in the work… earn her!  All American airs on CW, Mondays at 7pm. You can also catch it streaming on the app!

David Alan Grier (Arthur Greene, Jr. owner of a family funeral home) and Ethan Slater (Officer Chandler, the new cop and Elsbeth’s new wingman) guest star on this Elsbeth episode. Let's dive into this Elsbeth review. Arthur Greene, Jr. discusses the funeral arrangements for their loved one. Their funeral home is an old, notable, trusted funeral home. He tells the family about the history of the Arthur Greene and Sons funeral home. His Dad is now retired, and lives in a retirement home. At that moment, Russell Greene visits Raymond Greene. Russell’s a conspiracy theorist and comes to ask about an author, N.D. Longacre, a famous mystery writer. He wants to know if he really buried this famous author. Raymond tells him “she’s not in there,” a cryptic message that makes no sense. Russell’s uncle, Arthur, tells him his Dad has dementia. Russell refuses to stop chasing this particular conspiracy theory. Arthur says that the author died, and remembers her funeral, but later tells Russell he’ll tell him what really happened. They go to the cemetery and Arthur asks Russell to help him dig up the grave. Arthur hits Russell with a shovel and knocks him out. He takes his phone and removes the foil around it. He throws both it and Russell in a coffin he had in the hearse. Russell is still alive because he starts banging on the inside of the coffin yelling for help.Arthur returns to his office to get information before he takes Russell’s coffin to get cremated. He’s interrupted by Aaron who tells him about a VIP that has just died. They will be getting the bodies, and everything has to be handled discreetly. Arthur quickly hides the coffin he put Russell in in a storeroom. At the police station, a conspiracy theorist, Barb (Jenn Harris), is frantic. She asks LT Connor for help about her missing friend, Russell Greene. She’s sure something happened to him because he missed their usual breakfast meeting. She and Russell share their phone location, and can track each other’s movement. Barb recounts Russell’s movements to LT Connor. Elsbeth overhears her and asks why she and her friend share their phone locations. Barb tells her she and Russell met in an online Media Manipulation and Alternative Thinking group. LT Connor says they are conspiracy theorists. Barb says they share locations to keep tabs on each other, due to possible threats. Elsbeth tells LT Connor it’s a case worth looking into. He refers her to CPT Wagner, who won’t assign a detective to look for an alternative thinker. He does assign Elsbeth her new wingman, Officer Chandler. He tells her he’s a little annoying and wants him out of the office. Officer Chandler is very chatty, and Elsbeth takes him to the funeral home to investigate Russell Greene’s disappearance. They talk to Arthur, who gives them a fabricated story about his last meeting with his nephew. Elsbeth asked if he knew why his nephew visited a cemetery the night before. Arthur tells her no, but that Russell was involved in following online conspiracy theories. Elsbeth tells Arthur his friend who reported him missing thinks something bad happened to him. He explains to Elsbeth a family member like Russell is a disappointment and wasn’t expected to take over the family business. Elsbeth's numerous questions and astute observations annoy Arthur. He shows her out. Officer Chandler stops them and shows her a  video made by Russell Greene. He states if they are viewing his video, he is probably dead. Arthur says nothing. Elsbeth shows CPT Wagner the video, and tells him Russell set the video up to automatically post if he failed to log into his computer in the morning. CPT Wagner asks why a person would assume they would be killed. She says Russell was a very paranoid person. She concluded this after searching his social media. The video showed Russell explaining his tin foil/homemade Faraday cage. CPT Wagner asked what she thought about the case. Elsbeth tells him Russell’s uncle isn’t telling everything. A tip line and missing person’s bulletin was set up to help find Russell. Of course, Detective Kaye Blanke was placed on tip line duty. Detective Buzz Fleming volunteered her for that duty, because he says it’s a rookie detective’s right of passage. He is enjoying her misery. Russell’s conspiracy theorist friend bursts into the squad room and says she knows what happened to him. She says the FED got him. Elsbeth doesn’t think that’s a legitimate theory. She notices his notes on N. D. Longacres, and finds that more realistic. But to satisfy Barb, Elsbeth gets CPT Wagner to contact the FBI. His FBI contact never heard of Russell, but will make some inquiries. 32 Minutes Later, Elsbeth is surprised by a visit from the FBI about Russell Greene. They asked if he was bothering her, and could put a stop to it if needed. They confuse her more by admitting they have a file on him. Why?! The FBI don’t have good things to share about him. They said he was harassing them with his nuisance inquiries. They did keep an eye on him though. They suggest he may be off the grid somewhere living in the woods. Things calmed down at the Arthur Greene and Sons Funeral Home, giving Arthur Jr. a chance to move the coffin he put Russell in. Moments later, the VIP bodies arrive. Arthur rushes out with Russell’s coffin. Elsbeth tells Barb the information she got from the FBI. Russell was harassing the government agency, and that’s why they have a file on him. Detective Blanke walks into Elsbeth’s office with a witness, Jaye, who was probably high on mushrooms,  might have seen Russell Greene. Jaye says he saw Russell get abducted by a spaceship at the cemetery. He was there paying respects to N.D. Longacre. Barb interjects her theories and an Alternate Thinking Battle breaks out in Elsbeth’s Office. Elsbeth pulls up a picture of Arthur Greene, Jr. and the family hearse on her monitor. She asks Jaye if that’s the spaceship he saw, and he confirms it. Elsbeth and Barb go to the cemetery to see N.D. Longacres grave. Barb explains to Elsbeth the theory of N.D. Longacre’s  ‘not dead’ story. Elsbeth collects evidence, and sees tracks that could be a hearse. She theorizes a coffin is a perfect place to hide a body. Elsbeth takes her theory to Wagner. She believes the case is now a murder investigation. Chandler already called crematoriums inquiring if the Author Greene and Sons Funeral Home brought a body for cremation. Wagner tells Elsbeth Barb now claims she’s working with the NYPD, more misinformation. Wagner tells Elsbeth he can’t give her a search warrant, but she can still check out their showroom. Elsbeth assures Wagner she’ll get Barb to take down false posting. Elsbeth and Officer Chandler walk to the funeral home. Chandler is chattering away. Elsbeth and Chandler check every coffin on display. Elsbeth talks to and gives a big hug to a saddened customer, Juniper Dell. She tells her that her sister would be very pleased with the time and great care she’s putting into her burial process. Elsbeth goes to another room and tries to open a coffin. Arthur catches her, and asks her why she’s back. She asks him if she can see inside the casket. He opens it, but there’s no body inside. Arthur insists Elsbeth get inside to test the coffin out. He’s intimidating!  Later, Arthur goes to the body storage room and sees that Russell’s body is gone. He later finds it when the temp is wheeling it away.Outside, Elsbeth searches the funeral home’s hearse. She finds aluminum foil inside. Some time later, Elsbeth meets Barb to ask her to take down the post. She agrees, and just wants justice for her friend. Elsbeth talks to Longacre’s sister in her office. She says her sister’s casket was a closed one upon recommendation by Arthur Greene, Jr. Detective Blanke stops by to see Mrs. Henderson, a person from the tip line. She thinks Russell is stealing from her. There’s a noise! It’s a raccoon. Detective Blanke later tells Fleming she solved Mrs. Henderson’s mystery, and is now done with the tip line. Elsbeth goes to see Raymond Greene about Russell. She asked about N.D. Longacre. Raymond says Russell was going to exhume the body. He told Arthur to keep the coffin closed. Elsbeth goes to the Dell Family burial ceremony. Juniper invited her. They begin the cremation process, but Elsbeth asks Juniper to check the casket again. Arthur opens it and Russell’s body is inside with Juniper’s body. Arthur is arrested, but won’t say anything more. Elsbeth later tells Barb that Raymond Greene mistakenly cremated his dog Polly instead of N.D. Longacres’ body, due to early onset dementia. Barb immediately assumes Longacres is still alive.  Elsbeth assures her she’s not. Case Closed. CPT Kershaw calls CPT Wagner with a warning if he’s going after a sitting judge. Elsbeth’s latest episode has a great mix of the macabre, comedic moments and superb investigative detective work. The writers execute excellent character development with Blanke AND Elsbeth. Elsbeth’s taking the lead in more detective work. She also has reduced her bag numbers. Loved how Wonderful David Alan Grier was in this episode. He played the character perfectly. Really like Elsbeth’s new wingman, Ethan Slater/Officer Chandler. The cast delivered another Superbly Entertaining episode.  Let us know your thoughts and vote in our poll below.

A storm is coming. The one thing I enjoy about Found is that it answers your questions along the journey. One question in particular was how will they navigate Sir being held hostage season to season? And I had my theories and thought it would spread out till about season 3 where he would become an asset to the entire team. [SPOILERS] Well, I was right about him becoming an asset, but it’s not to M&A. Well, maybe not only to them. Taken from his cell, Sir disappeared most of the episode and reappeared at his brother’s funeral - with an FBI escort. Sir is now an asset to the FBI, which begs the question - what does Sir know that the FBI wants? How did he make himself valuable? Moving full throttle, we embark into Jamie’s past with Carrie. In a flashback, we see Carrie telling Jamie that Margaret doesn’t want him anymore. It’s a level of cruelty unimaginable, especially for a young child. As we get more insight into their relationship, we slowly see Jamie unravel in the present as he pulls all the pieces together. Trent tells him that Carrie’s son is alive and was taken away from her by Child Protection. How many lies did Carrie tell him? And how does he reconcile his conflicting feelings?  Margaret is furious that Carrie’s son was taken away from her and Jamie still wants to protect her. Carrie took Jamie away from her and lied. How does Jamie not see that Carrie constantly manipulated him? FOUND -- "Missing While a Casualty" Episode 219 -- Pictured: Kelli Williams as Margaret -- (Photo by: Matt Miller/NBC) “All this forgiveness you’re trying to find for her - why can’t you find any of it for me?” Margaret asks. The case of the week has an eager daughter, Allie, searching for a miracle. With her brother dying from kidney failure, Allie needs to find their father, Henry, who is presumed dead. Henry was a financial planner who was in severe debt with a loan shark and under government investigation that was also tied to his boss. As the clues unravel, Allie learns her mother and brother were paying off the debt and that her father is truly alive but stayed away. After the M&A team made a public appeal, Henry raced to the hospital to save Austin. Unfortunately, he died after the procedure. A father’s love has been a constant theme this past season and it was another heartfelt episode about forgiveness and second chances. Realizing Jamie only knows one side of the story, she shares her intimate journals with him. Each page shares all the raw pain and anguish she felt each day he was missing. With this insight, Jamie contacts Carrie.  “Tell me where you are,” Jamie said. “I choose you.” And with those words, Trent and Jamie set a plan in motion to capture Carrie. Will it work? Also, where is Lena? And does she plan to do with the gun she bought under Heather’s name?   Found returns Thursday May 1st, stream next day on Peacock.

Black Mirror Season 7 Review Episode One  - Common People Subscription-based healthcare is a real scare as technology evolves. This episode introduces Mike (Chris O'Dowd) and Amanda (Rashida Jones) as a couple who went through a crisis when Amanda goes into a coma due to a neurological illness. A new technology, Rivermind, can save her. The surgery is free, but there is a monthly subscription fee.  Her husband, Mike, is willing to do anything to save her, so he agrees to the procedure and subsequent monthly fee. Amanda's life depends on Rivermind Technologies' plan, which, at the basic fee level, subjects her to prolonged sleep. Eventually, as technology advances and updates, Amanda begins to sleep more and even has her consciousness taken over by random ads that she recites at any time.  Of course, Rivermind has a new, premium package, and the existing package is now labeled “Common”.   It becomes a continuous grab at money and is a critique of the commodification of the healthcare system. Instead of providing a cure, just selling a treatment plan that patients must continually pay for even when they can barely afford it. Episode 2 - Bête Noire A culinary researcher, Maria, portrayed by Siena Kelly, has her world turned upside down when a former classmate participates in a focus group at her job. Verity, portrayed by Rosy McEwen, was bullied in high school, and she has a bone to pick with Maria.  She is out for revenge and effortlessly infiltrates Maria's workplace. She is able to easily gaslight Maria and see she has something on her side that can shift reality with a click of a button. Things are not as they seem. It keeps you locked in until the end of the episode and ends with a twist I was hoping for. Episode 3 - Hotel Reverie Hotel Reverie blends romance with science fiction and looks at AI and virtual reality differently. Similar in some ways to "Common People". It is a different technology that saves Hollywood millions on remakes. It allows an actor or actress to submerge themselves in the fictional world that the filmmaker creates with equipment that takes them into a virtual environment. This environment is captured and able to be broadcast. Actress Brandy Friday, portrayed by Issa Rae, participates in a virtual remake of a 1940s film. The characters are all AI recreations of original characters.  One AI begins to form a consciousness as her connection with Brandy deepens. Clara, portrayed by Emma Corrin, and Brandy challenge and shape their reality, AI Consciousness, and its relation to feelings of love and independence.  It explores the emotional consequences of immersive technologies as we see today with the emergence of AI girlfriends and boyfriends and how it can impact the human psyche. Episode 4 -  Plaything A former game programmer is interrogated for a murder that happened decades before. To recount this murder, he has to go back to the nineties when he was given the opportunity to work on a new game by a developer he respected. The game, along with acid, led to the descent into madness of someone who was already mentally unstable. This one is too good to give away. I will leave this quote here and talk more about it in conclusion.  "Humans somehow consider other forms of life less than them. Inherently dispensable, ask the Dodo if you don’t believe me. Artificial lifeforms are the lowest of the low. Just playthings to us.” Episode 5 - Eulogy Eulogy is a company that collects recollections for memorial services. Phillip, portrayed by Paul Giamatti, receives a call from the company to eulogize a woman with whom he has a romantic history. They send him the kit, a small disk that is placed on the temple to calibrate the system. Then he has to think of Carol, his ex. He is having trouble with those memories, so the representative that he is connected with via the disc. talks him through it. He finds physical photos, and the technology allows him to draw memories from them by transporting him into the image by looking at it. He is virtually transported back in time via the picture; his guide shows up in the flesh to walk him through the photo to help trigger his memory. This is an emotional and touching episode. This episode has a twist that I was not expecting. Episode 6 -  USS Callister: Into Infinity This is the sequel to the acclaimed "USS Callister" episode; if I am honest, it does not compare to that. It lost me early on and never managed to quite pull me in. Overall Review Season 7 of Black Mirror is far better than the previous season. It honors the series tradition of dark intersections of technology and the nature of man. Each episode deals with groundbreaking technology and asks, “How far can we take technology, and how far is too far?”  Overall, it's a series tradition for Black Mirror. The performances were stellar: Paul Giamatti (Eulogy), Peter Capaldi (Plaything), Rashida Jones/Chris O’Dowd (Common People), and Emma Corrin (Reverie) gave standout performances to me. Issa Rae, a favorite of mine who has made questionable acting choices, has been heavily criticized, but I am not sure if it is fair here. I feel that “Reverie” has a certain intentionality in highlighting an AI film versus something authentic so those acting choices could be intentional. She is the human player of a white male character, which some viewers were unhappy with; I saw it as a look at how deepfakes can work and how AI can be dangerous. AI seemed to be the theme of the season. I was entertained by all of the episodes except the last. Reverie was a bit slow in the middle; it was my second least favorite. Common People, Bete Noire, and Plaything are the best episodes in the six-part series. Overall, I graded the season a B, which is very good, very Black Mirror.
