This was FUEGO!  Lex and Andy have a strong electrifying connection that cannot be broken. No matter what gets thrown their way.  Book two was packed with secrets, lies and betrayal and the ending was another heart stopping, pearl clutching cliff hanger leaving me wishing I had a time machine so I can go to the future and see how this story ends. Two books, both with ghost pepper spice levels, enough geeky banter to rival The Big Bang Theory and lots of heart.  If you’re looking for love, laughs, geeks railing geeks and enough twists and turns to rival a Six Flags roller coaster, then The Binary Hearts series is a must read.  Quotes:  “You’re like a feral raccoon-always hungry.” -Lex “We’re never doing that again, Lex. The finale gave us everything we needed to close out the series and set us up for an even better Season 4. Let’s get into the major plot points, the character decisions that had us cheering, thematic undercurrents, and what the ending might mean for the future of this fan favorite neo-noir series.   Why the Dark Winds Season 3 Finale Matters Since the beginning, Dark Winds has been given its flowers for its authentic portrayal of Navajo culture, gripping storytelling and multifaceted characters. Season 3 heightened these themes to a new lever with the slow burn mystery at the heart of the season that balanced the culture and added in the crime-thriller suspense. The finale is important especially because we get those emotional payoffs but the finale also leaves us invested even more in Joe and Jim’s journey, leaving us craving more for the next season.   The Fall of Dr. Reynolds: Justice Served or Too Simple? One of the baddie’s this season was Dr. Reynolds. The satisfaction when he gets back the energy he put out when Chee shoots him in a dramatic standoff was everything. His downfall ties back to Spenser Ranch while the climax lacked the emotional weight of previous showdowns (we are talking about Leaphorn’s Season 2 fight with Vines), the ending still felt earned and fulfilling. The finale reinforces that justice on the reservation doesn’t always come clean or easy and we do not want it to.   Bernadette’s Stand: A Victory in the Desert We have to shout out Bernadette Manuelito who comes through as a standout in the Season 3 finale. After rising through the ashes like a phoenix, surviving a murder attempt setup by Deputy Budge, she exposes a drug operation at Spenser Ranch and arrests Ed Henry and Eleanda. She did that but the episode leaves the door open on Muños who escapes punishment.   Joe Leaphorn’s Reckoning: Grief, Guilt, and the Ghost of Vines Season 3 had Joe Leaphorn going through it as his personal journey had him continuing to grapple with his decision to unalive Vines in the previous season. The finale features Joe listening to a tape from Emma going through all the emotions and feeling the weight of his actions and how it causes their strained relationship. Rather than ending with a nice, neat, tidy bow on a redemption arc, the finale presents Joe as a man at a crossroads. Dealing with his grief, especially following Emma death, continues to drive him and his pursuit of justice but causes isolation from those around him. This emotional through line gives further life to the series' noir aesthetic, which often trades easy answers for painful truths.   What’s Left Unanswered: Threads for Season 4 Speaking of tidy bows, many plotlines or stories do find closure but the Season 3 finale deliberately leaves us with lingering questions  like who killed Halsey , and was it really linked to the Spenser operation? Will Joe and Emma’s relationship  find a posthumous resolution? Is Spenser  truly out of the picture or is he laying low, waiting to resurface? The writing is so smart here but leaving us with these unanswered, we have a setup for storylines for season 4 but still get the sense of a completed finale.     Thematic Underpinnings: Culture, Corruption, and Moral Ambiguity What sets Dark Winds apart from many crime dramas out right now, the show flourishes by combining Navajo traditions into its storytelling. The title of the finale, “Béésh Łį́į́”  (Iron Horse), refers not only to the train central to the drug operation but also to industrial invasion on sacred land. These stories enhance the show’s commentary on the connection of modern crime, colonial legacy, and Indigenous identity making it more than just a procedural, but a cultural exploration.   Final Verdict: A Solid, Thoughtful Close to a Powerful Season The Dark Winds  Season 3 finale delivers a satisfying meal of closure and suspense. In this latest episode of NBC Universal’s new law drama, we finally get to witness the meat of what the “Suits L.A.” series could be — an intense exploration of the ethics of law, friendship, and ambition.  Ted Black, played by Stephen Amell, is former federal prosecutor-turned Hollywood entertainment attorney who continues to run headlong into the complex personal and professional relationships that shape his myopic world. Though, the NYC Pelligrini mob case that dominated the season’s backstories was put to rest with a conviction in the penultimate episode, the series continues to employ flashbacks to reconcile Ted’s past with his present. However, this go-round, the trip down memory “lane” focuses squarely on Ted’s long-time best friend and former law partner, Stuart — all puns very much intended. For the first time this season, this episode delves deeper into the former law partners’ shared history as they are pitted against each other in a mock trial during their final days in law school, for, of things, to determine who truly has bragging rights to being top-of-the-class. The scenario mirrors the high-stakes drama of Stuart Lane’s present-day case involving a non-musical David Bowie, whom Stuart now has growing doubts about, on trial for murdering a movie studio whistleblower.  SUITS LA -- "Slugfest" Episode 110 -- Pictured: (l-r) Josh McDermitt as Stuart Lane, Stephen Amell as Ted Black -- (Photo by: Nicole Weingart/NBC) The episode opens with a series of flashbacks that take us back to the days when Ted and Stuart were overly confident law students sharing the same dreams of professional dominance. This setup provides a fascinating look at their camaraderie, ripe with competition. The mock trial serves as a litmus test for determining not just their academic prowess, but who will ultimately come out on top in their personal and professional lives. It quickly becomes clear that the stakes are higher than just grades; their friendship and integrity are on the line, we find, at times, more so for Stuart than Ted. What makes this episode one of the more palatable this season is the more effective use of the timeline volley to understand the dynamics of this particular relationship for Ted, transforming of the mock trial into an arena where personal battles unfold.  As Ted and Stuart adopt their roles for their final school assignment — one as prosecutor and the other as defense attorney—their strategies reveal deep-seated insecurities and rivalries, even from the standpoint of what side of the law each chose to sit on. Dragging their respective social circles into the fray, using their friends and family as fodder for ruthless cross-examinations, the real-to-life assignment takes a rather personal turn. Stuart, embodying a looser interpretation of win-at-all-costs approach to arguing the law, begins to weaponize personal vulnerabilities, turning the fictitious trial into a vicious contest rather than an exercise in legal acumen. This dynamic hits a tense nerve that resonates with viewers, especially as Ted grapples with the realization that his moral compass, particularly, as it relates to his most precious relationship is at odds with the cutthroat tactics Stuart employs. Fast forward to present day, and we see Stuart using similar strategies to defend Bowie in his murder trial, resorting to leveraging a key witness's personal privacy and vulnerabilities to sway the judge. In doing so, Stuart also goes back on a promise he made to fellow attorney Erica Rollins (Lex Scott Davis), another friend who becomes a sacrifice to his to be right. The parallels between Stuart’s past and present actions create a rich narrative thread, illustrating how the lessons learned in law school still influence the attorney’s current life, but more importantly, how he, like so many of us flawed humans can find ourselves mired in the trauma of our younger selves. Nevertheless, the episode successfully brings forth questions about the ethics of lawyering in a system that often rewards manipulation over truth, and it does so by returning to the foundation of the characters' motivations. That point is unexpectedly punctuated by a final conversation Stuart has with his current partner and, ironically Ted’s ex-girlfriend, Samantha Railsback, at the close of the murder case.  Despite the episode's unusually compelling narrative, it suffers from a few pitfalls that while not undermining the positives of the episode, do hinder the series’ overall impact for its debut season. Coming late in the season, “Slugfest,” the episode, cannot fully escape the baggage of earlier episodes that struggled with pacing and character development, outside of Amell’s Ted “It’s my world and we are all living in it” Black.  While the flashback sequences are engaging, they have up until this point distracted from the urgency of the present-day narrative, leaving viewers yearning for more depth in the ongoing B plotlines and character arcs in this timeline. Stuart's unyielding desire to win becomes almost cartoonish at times, diluting the moral superiority that he initially lauded over Ted at the start of the season.  Josh McDermitt, as the overly sensitive criminal defense attorney, adeptly balances Stuart’s self-serving traits with moments of vulnerability and growth. And, while there are other moments where Stuart is unbelievably petty and whiney, given his stature as a high-profile defense attorney, McDermitt has a knack for portraying the character with complex motivations and emotional depth. Outside of Ted, Stuart is the only other character we get to see a full range of those emotions — from fear and courage to hope and despair in a manner that is both humble and relatable. Additionally, while the exploration of Ted and Stuart's friendship adds layers to their characters, why did we have to wait until nearly the end to understand what exactly we have been missing? The episode hints at a larger commentary on friendship and ambition in the cutthroat world of Hollywood, yet it does not capitalize on this potential fully. Just think of the stories that could have been told through the dynamic entertainment industry and its lens of moral ambiguity. What will remain the greatest disappointment for the series is the treatment of its intertwining narratives and supporting storylines. Throughout the run so far, audiences were teased with learning more about the other attorneys on canvas — often dropped in as one-off lines in the script and even onscreen elephant-in-the-room tensions, such as the past, nearly-rekindled, romance between former colleagues Erica and Rick Dodsen (Bryan Greenberg), only to leave us desperately on read and a calvacade of thoughts and prayers for a continuation of their story. While I am all for cliffhangers, the fact that most of the potential for these two characters, in particular, came in minuscule minutes in just three viable episodes, the angst for more comes not in what could be, but more in what could have been. And, as the curtain begins to fall on the debut season for Suits L.A., it remains to be seen if the series will be renewed for a sophomore season. No announcements have been made, as of yet, from the network, though I firmly believe there is still a lot of compelling story that could be told from the perspective of entertainment law. Sit back and relax. It’s time for a new medical mystery. Watson Season 1 Episode 11, involves a disabled veteran experiencing severe delusions and PTSD behavioral episodes. Watson admits he's responsible for his fellow soldier's mental and physical problems. This episode begins with a flashback flipping in and out of the past and present for a military soldier, Sergeant Dean Kett. He's in a hospital room, thinking he's still at war. His wife, Hazel, asks for Watson when her husband’s latest episode causes him to barricade himself in his hospital room. Her husband's episodes usually last about 20 minutes, but this one hasn't ended. Watson's out with Mary discussing his day. He ignores his cell, but his secondary phone gets his immediate attention. Moriarty's Agent arrives at the clinic and accuses Shinwell of giving her fake DNA samples.. She's there to collect them herself. Shinwell mentions the name Ashleigh, which stops Moriarty’s Agent in her tracks. She gives him all of her attention. Shinwell offers to help her with her daughter. She continues down the hall to the Fellows Team Office. Shinwell follows and threatens to kill her if she tries to harm anyone. Adam surprises them, as he returns to his desk, working late. Shinwell and the Agent pretend to be lovers, and ask Adam to be discreet. He agrees and returns to his desk. Moriarty’s Agent leaves with some of what she came for. She later collects more DNA samples and a delivery vector, Lauren. Watson gets to UHOP to see Kett. He, some staff members and security push their way into Dean Kett 's room. Watson tries to talk to him, but he attacks him. Security restrains Dean. He's mumbling something about a devil as he looks down at his prosthetic leg. This triggers Watson's own battlefield memories he and Kett shared. John Watson tells Hazel he's responsible for Kett's amputated leg and his delusional episodes. Watson’s flashback reveals the whole story of Sergeant  Kett, Major Watson's military escort in a civilian village. Watson was treating a female patient with a rare genetic disorder. Dean urged him to leave, when an IED went off. Two soldiers died, Dean was critically injured. Watson recounts all the specifics to his Team, because he needs their help to treat Dean. Watson believes Dean is suffering from something else other than PTS. He states the extended periods of delusions are an indication. He lists all his observations, and the Team theorizes. Stephens asks about the woman Watson treated in Afghanistan. She had a genetic disorder called FCS, Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome, where the body is unable to break down fats consumed in the diet. It's extremely rare. That treatment would have yielded game changing treatment for heart disease and strokes. Her name was Ramiza. She disappeared after the attack.  Watson goes to see Dean. Dean doesn't want him there. Watson tries to apologize to him, but Dean asks him to leave. Watson gets Sasha to help Dean. Sasha checks Dean after he complains of a stomach problem. Dean suddenly starts hallucinating, and hurts Sasha. He takes off down the hall. Watson gives the Team assignments. These could help them find Dean. Ingrid and Sasha discuss her revelation about her Father's death. Sasha tells Ingrid she's uncomfortable about showing her vulnerable side. Ingrid doesn't answer, as she looks through Dean's old trunk. Mary and Watson talk about Dean, and how it affected their relationship. Watson is distracted, and notices Dean's footprint. They find Dean at the heliport. Watson apologizes to Dean again. Dean recognizes him again and asks for his help, because he can't feel his legs. Moriarty's Agent is visiting her daughter. She gets a message from Moriarty, and he emphasizes no mistakes this time.  In Dean's hospital room, Watson sees something's affecting his motor nerves. It's a symptom of something else. Adam and Lauren are flirting in the Team's Office. She is the delivery vector to harm one of Watson's Team with her lipstick, Adam.  Dean is losing the ability to breathe. Dean tells Watson he could have stopped the bombing, but he couldn't shoot the kid who delivered the bomb. He is unable to say more, before he is intubated. Later, Watson checks Dean's urine collection bag and finds blood. He goes to the Team's office and finds his quirky crew also pulled an all-nighter. He reviews their theories and requests lots of hemin for porphyria. Porphyria was triggered by Dean's intense workout regimen. Watson prescribed hemin, which worked! Dean improves. He and Watson’s easy camaraderie replaces the anger as they talk in his room. Dean reveals he knew Ramiza. He gave Watson her location. Watson’s speechless as Dean tells him to change the world. Sasha asks Ingrid if she only killed one person. Ingrid says it's just the one. Sasha vows to help Ingrid with her stalker. Mary comes to see Watson, and tells him something amazing is about to happen. He gets a video call from Ramiza, his ‘white whale’. Mary leaves as she sees his enthusiasm and smile return. Laura applies tainted lipstick to her lips. At that moment, Shinwell meets with Moriarty's Agent, who tells him his services are no longer needed. She cautions him to be careful. Lauren comes to see Adam, at the Team's office. They kiss! Vector delivery is activated, target acquired. This was a very great episode! Dean's mysterious illness was interesting. It was also good to see a bit of  Watson's past military history. We got a glimpse of Moriarty's agent’s personal side, Ingrid’s really changing and becoming more vulnerable. Wonder what happens to Adam?? Is Shinwell free of Moriarty? Will Ramiza become a new Team member? The medical mystery and intrigue mixed with the Team's personal interactions worked well.

The drag world is mourning the loss of Jiggly Caliente, a RuPaul’s Drag Race  veteran, who passed away at the age of 44. Born as Bianca Castro-Arabejo, Jiggly was more than a reality TV personality to those that knew her, she was a trailblazing icon, a powerful trans advocate, and a radiant force in the LGBTQ+ community. Jiggly Caliente became known to many as a contestant on Season 4 of RuPaul’s Drag Race  in 2012 and quickly became a fan favorite. Though she didn’t take home the crown that season, she later returned to the show in All Stars  Season 6 to the delight of her fans. Her performances were filled with heart and humor, and she was never afraid to show her struggles which are of course a personal issue. After she transitioned in 2016, Jiggly used her platform to advocate for trans rights and visibility. She used her platform to speak about issues like healthcare access, representation, and the challenges faced by trans women of color. She also became a judge on Drag Race Philippines . As a proud Filipina-American, her work inspired countless young LGBTQ+ people from similar backgrounds to embrace their identity boldly. The news of her passing came as a shock to fans. The outpouring of love has been nothing but amazing.  Jiggly Caliente may have left this world too soon, but her influence will live on. She was a force of nature, fierce, fabulous, and full of heart. Whether you knew her from her runway looks, her fierce lip syncs, or just watched her deeply personal interviews, one thing’s for sure you left feeling like you knew her better. Her life is a reminder that representation matters, advocacy matters, and most of all being your authentic self is the fiercest act of all. Our thoughts go out to her family, friends and loved ones.

Finn, Dr. Buckingham, and Bridget review Liam’s diagnosis. There is nothing that can be done. They worry about how Kelly and Beth will handle the loss.  Kelly and Liam continue to spend time together. His sickness is affecting him, and he tries not to make it noticeable to Kelly. Steffy becomes emotional after reading Finn’s text about Liam and takes a picture of Kelly and Liam. Kelly asks for another dance, but Liam doesn’t have the strength and needs a moment. Steffy tells Kelly it’s bedtime. Finn is home. Once Liam goes to put Kelly to bed, Finn talks to Steffy about Liam’s prognosis. She is still in shock and wants to know if he’ll be okay. Finn explains that the illness has been growing and Liam needs to get back to the hospital. Steffy is in disbelief when Finn confirms that Liam is dying. Finn also tells her that the mass has been growing for a while. Steffy struggles with the idea of all the things Liam will miss with his daughters. Liam struggles while putting Kelly to bed, getting dizzy and experiencing blurry vision. He plays it off for Kelly’s sake and reminds her how much both he and her mother love her. Taylor and Ridge discuss the upcoming fashion show and reflect on how much Liam loves his children. They also talk about the co-parenting relationship between Steffy and Liam. At Forrester Creations, Eric and Brooke talk about her relationship with Ridge. Eric believes Brooke and Ridge should be together. They reminisce about her wedding dress in Portofino and that special moment when Ridge comes in. Brooke leaves, and Eric and Ridge talk about that moment and Ridge’s anger when she accepted the CEO position. They are interrupted, and Ridge stares at a photo. Liam interrupts Finn and Steffy. Finn leaves to check on Kelly, and Steffy tells Liam about his diagnosis — that he is dying. Finn talks with Kelly, assuring her that she will always have a bond with her daddy. He is honored to be her stepfather but knows he could never replace her father. Liam struggles to accept the news. He emphasizes that he has two daughters and so much to live for. When Finn comes back in, Liam questions if it’s really true. Liam stays in denial, determined not to give up without a fight. Deacon and Sheila talk about Carter, Hope, and how Hope was betrayed. Deacon brings up Liam and how good he was. Meanwhile, Carter and Hope are together. Carter asks for another chance, but Hope reflects on all her past relationships, especially Liam. The fashion show starts! Eric and Brooke have a surprise planned. There’s a lot of hustle and bustle as they greet people like Christine Blair and Heidi and Spencer Pratt. Daphne continues to work with Carter. Taylor arrives, making Steffy happy — but not so much the Logans — as Taylor is invited backstage. Will and Electra meet influencers, and Carter, Zende, and Daphne work to keep the couture dresses safe. Eric gives a pivotal speech about leadership and teamwork, boosting morale for the show. Taylor asks Ridge not to call Brooke “Logan” anymore, and he agrees. Brooke tells Taylor she shouldn’t be backstage. Taylor complains to Eric, but Brooke pulls him away, saying they don’t have time for drama. The Logan sisters complain about Taylor, but Eric reminds them that today is about the show, not personal issues. He admits he admires Taylor, but still thinks Brooke and Ridge belong together. As the show begins, Ridge thanks everyone and gives a special spotlight to Carter, which means a lot to him. Backstage, Brooke is alone when Taylor corners her to talk about Brooke trying to kick her out of the show. Taylor reminds Brooke that she and Ridge were once together. (Yes — we are back to the 30-year-old Brooke/Ridge/Taylor drama. So tired.) They argue, and Taylor slams the door, locking them both inside. No one can hear them. Meanwhile, Donna and Katie tell Ridge that Brooke is getting ready for the showstopper. Brooke and Taylor continue arguing. Brooke insists Taylor has no right to be at Forrester Creations and stresses how important this moment is. The fashion show continues. The models are reminded to promote the fragrance line. The audience is loving it. Zende and Eric share a touching moment as Eric congratulates his grandson. People start to notice that Brooke and Taylor are missing. They realize they’re locked in and get Charlie to assist. Brooke finally runs out just in time to get ready for the final showstopper. They are about to end the show without the finale when Brooke rushes onto the stage. Ridge is at a loss for words. Steffy and Taylor look hurt as they see Ridge’s reaction to Brooke.
