So much going on in Port Charles this week, which included Sonny’s successful heart surgery, a dreamy visit with his darling Dad, and his friend, Brick, saved his life, Gio battles with Tracy, Tracy makes a deal with a nemesis, Drew, the possible destruction of the Davis Girls bond. Also, there was Kai’s surgery, a plot to bring down said nemesis, Drew, the town spies continue their mission, Gio faces the truth about his uncle, and the new PCU Professor in town goes out on the town. Curtis’ Savoy Club was also the happening place this week in Port Charles. Meetings with a college professor, said professor asked a student’s grandma out, but got his hopes dashed. Two budding romantic couples arrive. One celebrates the last day of fun before a life-changing surgery. The other is out on their first date. Two ex’s meet and affirm their safety is still a concern. A spy tries to influence her class professor into selecting her for a research assistant position, unsuccessfully. A freelance journalist and cowboy meet for drinks and a little fun night out, and the journalist is treated to an unexpected gem of a story! A stressed, blackmailed, plotting wife later arrives for a night out with her husband, the club owner, and gets more than expected. The piece de resistance is a sitting Congressman enters with a ‘friend’ and drunkenly puts on a Very Public and Very Entertaining Show for all patrons, and it is live streamed and pics are captured, and a Beach Party, too. What a GH Week and it’s not even Nurses Ball Time, yet.  GH’s week started with Molly and Kristina confronting their Mom, Alexis. The Davis Girls bond may be irreparably broken after Molly discovers Kristina’s Involuntary Commitment Order.. Alexis says Kristina may need to speak with someone where she can express her feelings. Molly defends her sister. Alexis later receives a family heirloom gift from Sidwell. The dagger that killed her Mom. Brick kills a fake nurse that tampered with Sonny’s IV. She tried to kill him. Carly is grateful for Brick saving Sonny’s life. Jack Brennan comes to comfort Carly and check on Sonny. Trina, Kai and Emma meet at the Savoy to celebrate Kai and his impending surgery. Emma encourages Trina to be optimistic. Kai apologizes to Curtis for not taking his advice. Curtis is impressed by Kai, and his determination to pursue his dream. He wishes him the best and will pray for his successful outcome. Emma introduces Professor Dalton to Trina. Dalton takes a few minutes with Emma and tells her she could get the summer research position.  Later, Kai thanks Trina for supporting him. He also tells her about Drew Cain and a camera crew coming to film him and his surgery in repayment for paying for Kai’s surgery. Sonny’s sedation induced Dream brings him together with his Dad, Mike Corbin, once more. He apologizes to his son for putting him on the criminal path he is currently on. Sonny wants to leave the mob to help his family have a life of peace. His Dad knows he will find a way. Sonny was glad to see his Dad again.  Gio and Tracy Clash over Sonny’s piers and business. Tracy tells Gio what his Uncle Sonny really does. She partnered with Ezra Boyle to expose Sonny. Gio and Emma team up to convince Tracy not to do this. Gio faces the truth about his Uncle Sonny when Jason tells him about his brother’s death. Brad gives Portia all the Drew Cain medical records he could find. She gives him another assignment, to get her ketamine. Portia later calls Nina telling her they have what they need to take down Drew. Curtis and Jordan discuss her change of attitude with Drew Cain. She is more friendly towards Drew to get evidence against Sidwell. Curtis understands, but warns her to be careful. Joss and Vaughn meet to exchange information on Joss’ research assistant progress. Vaughn tells her to do something to make herself standout, so she gets that job. Later, Joss asks Vaughn for his help in sabotaging Emma’s data model extra credit project while she’s at a bonfire party. She will corrupt the thumb drive and her laptop. Hopefully, Joss could improve her chances of getting Dalton’s summer research assistant job. Anna meets Professor Dalton, Emma’s teacher, at the Savoy. They have a friendly chat. He even asks her out, but Anna turns him down. Emma later confesses to Anna why she’s taking Dalton’s class. Not certain it’s the truth. Jacinda, Nina and Portia execute The Take Down Drew Plan and it works better than expected. Drew makes a TOTAL drunk scene at the Savoy. It is streamed live and pics captured by many customers. Lulu’s there streaming and taking notes for a possible top story. The plan worked, and Drew is dealing with the fallout. Willow comes home to find a drunken Drew and his ‘date’ preparing to leave.  Portia is gleeful and happily congratulates Nina on their successful plan. Jacinda gets paid by Nina and promises to disappear into the Australian Outback. Jacinda is GREAT! Joss talks to Professor Dalton at the Savoy. She tries to ask him for the summer research assistant position. He tells her she won’t be considered because there are people more qualified and have been in class from the beginning of the course. He told her there were other jobs. Curtis and Laura discuss Drew’s Debacle at her Office. They can’t understand why he would suddenly exhibit such reckless behavior. They are a little happy he did, and Laura decides not to issue any public remarks about Drew. Curtis praises Lulu’s quickness in recording Drew’s behavior at the Savoy. Alexis goes to Drew’s to get Scout and take her home with her. Drew is confused and doesn’t know what’s happening. Alexis shows him the social media feed of Drew’s Debacle. Willow runs home to Nina and is worried for her kids. Nina shows Willow the social media streams on Drew’s actions at the Savoy, shocking Willow. Nina plants the idea that Drew may be an alcoholic. She says his unusual behavior is an indication.  Drew shows up at Nina’s house loudly knocking on the door and yelling for Willow, shocking both Willow and Nina. Drew pleads for Willow to believe him, and asks her to come with him to GH for his blood test. He hopes the test will prove he was drugged. Jack Brennan watches over Sonny until Jason arrives. Carly updates Jason on how Brick saved Sonny. Brennan later gives Jason information on the assassin, and that they have ties to the intelligence community. This type of assassin normally goes after political and military targets, not local mob bosses. Sonny tells Carly to go home and protect their daughter, Donna. Carly hitches a ride back to Port Charles with Jack Brennan on a WSB jet. Jason and Sonny devise a plan to get Sonny home safely.  Kai prepares for his surgery and begins his documentary. Trina meets him at GH, and he tells her about the documentary. He’s anxious to get the surgery done. He tells Trina he already mentioned to Josh, the documentary director, that she was kind of his girlfriend. They Kiss.  Josh meets Trina and asks to interview her as part of the documentary. Trina agrees.  Portia tries to redirect Curtis’ curiosity over Drew’s behavior. She tells him maybe this is finally Drew’s true nature showing now. She tells Curtis about her interview for Kai’s documentary. They go to support Trina and Kai. Lulu interviews her Mom, Laura, for her adoption article. Laura tells her about being switched as a newborn baby at the hospital. She ended up with two families, and a dear and close relationship with her birth Mother. Lulu’s subsequent questions show Laura that there is more to the article for Lulu. Lulu tells Laura about Brook Lynn’s secret without giving names. Laura cautioned her about playing God in other people’s lives. Lulu thanks her Mom for her help. Alexis tells Lulu not to apologize for doing her job. She says she's a journalist, and Drew's a Congressman. His constituents need to know what he's doing. She compliments her. Josh, the documentary director, comes to start filming Kai’s documentary. He interviews Kai and he introduces Trina as his girlfriend. She was fine with that. Emma and Joss come to support Trina and Kai while he has his surgery. They protect Trina from Josh, who wants to interview her while she’s worried over Kai. Tracy and Gio have a talk. She tells him her reason for opposing Sonny, and Gio tells her what Jason told him. She explains she wants to get Sonny and his criminal business out of Port Charles. Dante and Chase reach an impasse. Chase came over to talk to Lulu and stop her from writing her article on adoption. It’s affecting Brook Lynn and she sees it as harassment. Lulu’s not there, but Dante listens. He tells Chase they are overreaching, and recommends they calm down. Brook Lynn shares her pregnancy secret with Tracy . Tracy tells her she made her decision and should not apologize for it. Tracy tells Brook Lynn how much she loves her and that she thinks she is the Best and Strongest Quartermaine. Brook Lynn tells her she hasn’t tried to look for her baby, because she still wants a better life for him. The only way she will find him is if he comes looking for her. Tracy tells Brook Lynn that Lulu doesn’t have a say. She tells Brook Lynn not to ever doubt the love she has for her and gives her a heartfelt hug. Later, Tracy asks Lois where her Great Grandson is. Rocco and Danny go to hang out at a bonfire party when Dante tells them they cancelled the family time at the Woodchucks game. Danny and Rocco get spiked drinks, grog, to blend in at the PCU Bonfire Party. They meet some girls, and Danny tells them they are freshmen. Rocco is shy, and doesn’t say much. He sips his drink and soon finishes it. Danny goes off with the girls to play volleyball, leaving his cup with Rocco. Rocco drinks it and more. Danny sees Joss and Joss tells him to go and they won’t say anything about him being at a college party. Danny scrams. Rocco is lying alone, passed out on the beach. Dante and Lulu talk about their feelings and Dante blurts out he knows she loves him. Lulu admits she was jealous of Sam, but is glad she took care of both him and Rocco. Lulu’s glad Dante moved on with his life. He tells her he's still in love with her, but also loves Sam. Joss and Vaughn work together to distract Emma. Vaughn distracts everyone with his looks, and gets Emma and Gio to go for a swim. Joss steals and corrupts Emma’s thumb drive. She didn’t replace it before they returned from their swim. Willow and Drew go to GH for Drew’s blood test. They discover he was drugged with ketamine. Willow believes him now and returns to Nina’s to get her things. Drew stays behind to report a crime to Mac and Felicia. Mac asks who’s the last person he remembers, and it’s Tracy. It was a busy week for the folks at Port Charles! Glad to see the Nurses Ball preparations are in full swing, a PCU Bonfire Beach Party is as fun as the Metro Court Pool, Sonny and Kai’s surgeries begin and one is completed, and Drew’s Debacle Fallout is investigated. Couples, family relationships and secrets revealed and changing. Spy activities continue and one family member is in trouble. All this is the norm for Port Charles. That’s it for GH this week!

A Shake-Up for CBS’s Einstein CBS’s highly anticipated new drama, Einstein starring Criminal Minds  favorite Matthew Gray Gubler has hit a roadblock. Rosa Salazar has decided to leave the series and will no longer be the female lead due to CBS’s decision to delay the show’s premiere until the 2026-2027 TV season.  Based on the German hit series, Einstein  was set to be the new breakout show. Now, all these questions are gnawing at our insides: Why did Salazar leave? What does the delay mean for the series’ future? And what should fans expect next? What Is Einstein ? A Smart Twist on the Procedural Genre In a tv world full of procedural dramas, CBS is top notch at putting out quality tv and Einstein  is a new CBS procedural drama adapted from the German series of the same name. The plot follows Lew Einstein, a brilliant but troubled physics professor and the fictional great-grandson of Albert Einstein who uses his intellect to assist law enforcement in solving complex crimes. The American version will star Matthew Gray Gubler in the title role, bringing his signature blend of eccentric genius to the screen, a style reminiscent of his portrayal of Dr. Spencer Reid on Criminal Minds .  The series was initially greenlit with excitement from fans. Now the production delays have everyone biting their nails.  Rosa Salazar’s Role: A Strong Female Lead Who Was She Playing? Rosa Salazar was cast as Detective Paris, a sharp, no-nonsense New Jersey State Police officer tasked with partnering alongside Lew Einstein. Her role was to be the opposite of Gubler’s lead character. Of course, we expect a hint of possibly a romance. Salazar is no stranger to TV with roles in Parenthood and Undone . Why Did Rosa Salazar Exit Einstein ? Scheduling Delays and Creative Shifts Salazar received the news of the production delays and decided to peace out. The delay was reportedly due to a crowded schedule and a decision was made to allow for a more extended pre-production timeline.  However, there is no drama as Salazar’s exit was amicable.. What Does This Mean for the Series? The Need for a New Leading Lady   With Salazar out, CBS is now scrambling to replace her. We have some suggestions of our own of who could take over the role. Talented actresses like Gabrielle Union and Nicole Beharie immediately come to mind. We’ve seen both actresses in police procedurals before so either one would be a perfect fit.  What Can Fans Expect Next? Stay Tuned for Updates While Rosa Salazar’s decision is disappointing to her fans, it doesn’t mean that Einstein  is on shaky ground. Actually, the show still boasts a unique concept, a fan-favorite lead in Matthew Gray Gubler, and the support of a major network. As production gears up for the revised timeline, viewers can expect updates on new casting, filming schedules, and behind-the-scenes insights in the months ahead. I know we’ve been MIA for about two weeks, but this week’s Performer of the Week and honestly, probably for the last three weeks running has to be Ambyr Michelle. I was waiting until we finally got to see the big reveal, and let me just say: Miss Ambyr did not disappoint. For the past few weeks, she has been knocking it out of the park, showcasing an impressive range of emotion conflicted, confused, furious, and just plain exhausted as she grapples with the realization that things may not be what they seem when it comes to her mother, Leslie. Or should I say Dana… Sherry… Lulu… Anna? The woman’s got more aliases than a con artist, and Eva is starting to piece together that not everything her mother says is rooted in truth. Eva has had to confront Leslie not just over her web of lies, but over the revenge plot that’s now unraveling. She’s also been faced with seeing Nicole and Ted’s dynamic firsthand, something that makes her question everything she was told about them. And now, Eva is finally coming to her senses, realizing that some of what her mother insisted on was, in fact, a complete fabrication. Leslie tried everything in her power to stop the reveal of a top-tier soap-level twist, by the way but it was all for nothing. The truth exploded out into the open for everyone to see, and it left not just Eva in shambles, but Ted, Nicole, Kat, and Martin as well. Especially Nicole. (And I cannot wait to see how Daphne brings that fallout to life.) But back to Ambyr, she is emerging as the breakout star of Beyond the Gates. Watching her perform truly makes me miss the days when the Daytime Emmys had a Younger Actress category, because there is no doubt in my mind: she would be a top contender. She deserves every bit of recognition. I can’t wait to see more of her emotional depth on display. I’m also eagerly anticipating more confrontations: between Eva and her mother, Eva and Nicole, Ted and Eva and of course, the holy grail: Eva versus Kat. That is prime frenemy material and could rival even Natalie and Jessica from One Life to Live. And I’m seriously hoping they turn out to be twins, not just half-sisters. That would make it all the more deliciously dramatic. Congratulations to Miss Ambyr Michelle for continuing to impress with her range and growth. I am so ready for the next chapter and rest assured, I will be seated.

A Major Shake-Up in Elsbeth : Carra Patterson Steps Back Fans of the hit CBS drama Elsbeth were surprised to learn that Carra Patterson, who has portrayed NYPD Officer Kaya Blanke since the pilot episode, will not return as a series regular in Season 3. Officer Blanke has solved cases in New York City alongside Elsbeth Tascioni (Carrie Preston) since day one. As one of the show’s most grounded and ethical characters, Kaya Blanke served as both a moral compass and a capable partner to Elsbeth. So, what led to Patterson’s departure from the main cast? Still reeling from the last episode of 9-1-1? Well, so are we. Our reviewer and podcast co-host, Ashley Saray has already said on The TV Cave Podcast that she is not watching Bobby’s death play out and we do not blame her. Even though there were spoiler pics galore, the emotional gut punch watching Bobby say his last words to Athena and then take his last breath was just too much for some to handle, including us.  Of course the writers and showrunners at 9-1-1 aren’t done putting us through the ringer. We have to deal with the emotional fallout of his death. Based on the promo for the episode airing this week, Athena is mad as hell that Bobby “left her” and Chimney is blaming himself.  Check out the promo below and see for yourself…. Our favorite show Shōgun is officially coming back. FX announced today their plans to continue to mega hit for season 2, which originally was supposed to be a limited series. However, the show grew in popularity and dominated the Emmys (18 wins) and Golden Globes. Production is set to being in January filming in Vancouver. FX took it a step further and confirmed an additional season.   Shōgun , was hailed as a masterclass in period drama. With meticulous attention to historical detail and emotionally resonant characters, the show stood out as one of 2024’s most compelling TV offerings. Its blend of Eastern and Western storytelling perspectives told through the lens of English navigator John Blackthorne (Cosmo Jarvis) and Japanese warlord Lord Yoshii Toranaga (Hiroyuki Sanada) made it both accessible and profound.   Stars Hiroyuki Sanada is returning as Lord Toranaga (continuing his executive producing work as well). Also set to return is Cosmo Jarvis as John Blackthorne expanding his role as co-executive producer this season. How does Blackthorne move forward with Anna Sawai’s character, we cannot fathom.   Ready for even more good news? We have the official season 2 description/logline! Per the show, season 2 “is set ten years after the events of the first season and continues the historically-inspired saga of these two men from different worlds whose fates are inextricably entwined.”   The show is based on James Clavell’s novel of the same name. According to FX, showrunners Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks “recently wrapped a writers’ room devoted to creating a wholly original new chapter to the first season.” So, its great news that the same showrunners are returning for next season and answering some unresolved storylines.   Kondo and Marks also know how they want the story to end. The question remains will fans agree with their choices.   Some cool show stats to know: Shōgun scored a 99% critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes. I’ve loved the journey and learned so much but it's time to grow in a different direction…very grateful for all of the Y&R fans who have supported me <3.”  Many actors use the daytime drama world as a teaching ground. After a brief break, Found returns with another high-impact emotional episode. We have a lot to unpack so let us begin.  [SPOILERS] Lena’s wrath for vengeance has extended beyond Gabi. By using poison in food to attack M&A clients, Lena demands that Gabi recant what Sir did to her or people will die. Dhan secures extra security for their past clients through the FBI, but it comes with a price. Sir wants to see Gabi. In hopes to find Lena, Gabi goes to Sir for insight on his unhinged sister. But Sir becomes impressed by his sister's tactics to demonstrate her intellect towards him. Regardless, Sir only has one focus. And humanity is not it. “Redemption is your assumption. It was all in service in one thing…to keep me close to you,” said Sir. "Come back when you're ready to give me what I want and I will give you Lena." One thing about Sir, he is consistent about what he desires. Jamie, Margaret and Trent continue their pursuit for Carrie and lay a trap for her at the bus station. Unfortunately Carrie caught on and sent Jamie a cup of coffee with the word JUDAS on it. Fearful for his family, Jamie said it’s time to call Dad. Hesitant, Margaret thinks their family is not on Carrie’s radar, but Jamie wonders if Margaret is afraid to deal with the pain his disappearance inflicted on everyone.  For Jamie, reading Margaret’s journal helped him understand what she endured over the years. This provided a safe space for Jamie to share how he coped with the separation by cutting himself to feel relief. You can feel the sadness and urgency in this scene as Margaret tries to reassure Jamie the pain of losing him was not his fault. "You are not the cause of any of our pain," she tells him. It’s at this moment she realizes maybe it is time to connect with her ex-husband.  Case of the week is a missing neurodivergent fiancé named Diane. Ren, who is also neurodivergent, is looking for her with M&A’s help. In a twist of events, Ren’s brother is the one who helps get Diane pregnant, but his fiancé, Sadie, is not thrilled. Why should Diane have a baby that should be hers? Also, how could Diane and Ren take care of a child? It’s a concern Diane’s parents also have. This was another compassionate and thoughtful episode which showcased that anything is possible if you believe in yourself. Once rescued from Sadie, Diane reassured her parents that she is strong enough to get married and have a baby. A new family is formed, filled with joy and possibility.  In a twist I was not expecting, Margaret holds a press conference at the bus station with Nicholas, Carrie's biological son. He too feels responsible for what happened to Margaret’s family and apologizes. Margaret tells him it’s not his fault, but will he ever believe that? So much damage was done by Carrie, who was also in pain for losing her son to protective services.  As Carrie arrives at the  station, a magnitude of emotions radiate off the screen. Carrie’s joy seeing Nicholas, closure for Margaret as the police arrested her and the anguish for all those years of separation each mother felt for their child. A powerful moment captured by all performers. As the episode closes, we get hit with another unexpected hammer drop delivered by Dhan at the prison. “Lena got to Gabi!” Dhan tells Sir. "If she dies,  I will follow you to hell and make sure you burn." With Sir screaming Gabrielle's name, you have to wonder is it true? Or a ploy to get closer to Lena? This show knows how to keep us on the edge of our seats. Found airs Thursday nights, stream next day on Peacock.

I guess 9-1-1 felt two weeks was enough time to wipe our tears and mourn the loss of Captain Robert “Bobby” Nash. I do not know who told them that because I am still reeling from the loss of the best fire captain in Los Angeles. It has also been two weeks of time on the show as well and Athena is me, not processing the loss of her husband and has not made any funeral arrangements. I believe we got a two week time jump so the show hammers in that this is real and Bobby is not coming back. Chimney has decided to take that on behind Athena’s back and she goes off on him in the way only Athena (Angela Bassett) can. I felt bad for Chimney but understood both sides of the argument. I hate when the Team are at each other’s throats but it adds realism to the story. You are not always going to get along with your friends all the time. 9-1-1 is good at that. I also hate to praise them when they have destroyed me like this but Angela Bassett’s acting (along with the other cast members) is always so excellent, you forget and get engrossed in the storyline. If she does not get an Emmy for this, we riot.  During the argument a man comes in searching for Bobby. Apparently, years ago Bobby saved his sister from a fire but was unable to save her baby. The sister is now in trouble because she kidnapped a little boy convinced the boy was her baby who survived the fire. The sister, Leah, is serving time in jail for the kidnapping.  The brother believes since Bobby is gone (ugh) Athena can help Leah. When she agrees and starts to investigate she finds clues that Leah may be on to something. There is a birthmark that is questionable and his mother is someone from Leah’s pre-birthing class so Athena starts believing the baby survived.  There is a DNA test that proves the mother and the boy are related and Leah’s husband and brother lied to Leah about the burial of the baby (the casket was empty). Leah’s family lying to her finally causes Athena to come to terms with the sacrifice Bobby made and she releases her emotions and says to Hen that Bobby just left her.  When Athena tells Leah the truth we get a flashback of Bobby visiting her in the hospital after the fire. So great to see Bobby in new scenes. Not sure how many we are getting for the rest of the season or in future seasons. The flashbacks prove once again that Bobby is or was the heart of 9-1-1. When the funeral finally arrives we are treated to another heartbreaking scene, this time Athena talking to Bobby’s portrait. Chimney is questioning his role in Bobby’s death and after a beautiful service we see Athena, May and Harry crying by Bobby’s casket and it's all too much. Truly this episode was the Last Alarm.  Fans are upset and declaring they can’t even continue the show and I completely understand, so if you did watch, what did you think? Another Simple Favor review Earlier this year, I had a great time checking out A Simple Favor for the first time. Thanks to its twist-filled story and the strong performances from Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively, I was hooked from start to finish. The mystery was genuinely engaging, and it quickly became my favorite film directed by Paul Feig. Although I'd wanted to see it for years, I finally watched it to prepare for its sequel, Another Simple Favor, which sees Kendrick, Lively, and Feig all returning. Once it dropped on Amazon Prime, I gave it a watch and here’s what I thought. Unlike the first film, which felt carefully crafted and stylish, this sequel feels more like the live-action equivalent of a straight-to-DVD Disney sequel. The quality noticeably drops: the visuals often look overly artificial, as if the film was mostly shot on green screen, and you can definitely tell. Where the original struck a strong balance between dark thriller and sharp comedy, this sequel leans hard into parody. It plays like a comedy about thrillers, rather than a thriller with a comedic edge. The gripping mystery element is gone, replaced by silly one-liners that undercut the suspense and intrigue that made the first so compelling. Kendrick and Lively still deliver enjoyable performances, but their characters aren’t given anything new or dynamic to work with. Both actors fall more into their familiar typecasts, which work fine, but don't allow them to explore or surprise the way they did in the first film. As for the supporting cast, it’s nice to see some familiar faces return, Andrew Rannells and Henry Golding, for instance but the impact isn’t as strong this time around. The new cast members, unfortunately, don’t leave much of an impression and feel largely forgettable. Overall, Another Simple Favor is the live-action equivalent of a straight-to-DVD sequel: it’s entertaining enough, but feels like a huge step down from its predecessor. The tone, plot, and characters just don’t click the same way. While I didn’t hate it, I definitely came away disappointed. I’m giving Another Simple Favor a rating of 3 out of 5 stars and 6 out of 10.
