The latest episode, “Goodbye Horses,” gives fans everything they crave from this medical melodrama: awkward romantic run-ins, surgical showdowns, and a good old-fashioned round of heartfelt apologies. It is an hour that reminds viewers why this series continues to thrive after more than two decades, it is all catharsis and a healthy dose of self-realization, Seattle-style. “Goodbye Horses” starts off with tension thick enough to cut with a scalpel. Teddy Altman and Owen Hunt are still navigating their post-breakup blues, and their emotions spill into the hospital halls. Teddy’s new pseudo-girlfriend Cass Beckman becomes the unwitting third wheel in a day filled with awkward encounters and misread signals. When Teddy has to treat Owen’s former flame Nora for chest pains, which turn out to be good old-fashioned indigestion, it is peak Grey’s awkwardness. Meanwhile, Owen is stewing after spotting Teddy and Cass carpooling to work. By the end of the day, both Teddy and Owen offer up their apologies, clearing the air just enough to keep things from exploding again. And no, they do not go home together. Progress, not relapse. Across the hospital, another battle is brewing, this time in the operating room. Jackson Avery makes his return from Boston to perform reconstructive surgery on a breast cancer survivor. The moment he steps into Grey Sloan, you can practically hear the collective gasp from fans. His partnership with Meredith Grey should have been smooth sailing, but this is Grey’s Anatomy, so of course it is not. When Meredith suggests repairing the patient’s hernia during the same surgery, Jackson balks. What follows is a classic surgical standoff, complete with raised eyebrows, clipped dialogue, and surgical masks hiding passive aggression. Predictably, Meredith turns out to be right, forcing Jackson to eat a generous helping of humble pie. The tension between them dissolves into something more nostalgic when Jackson offers Meredith a ride home on his private jet. Their conversation reveals a deeper problem: Meredith’s research has stalled, and Tom Koracick has swooped in to publish Alzheimer’s findings that suspiciously exclude female test subjects. Meredith realizes she has fallen behind in her own work and decides to return to Boston. Richard Webber, ever the father figure, handles her latest goodbye with quiet grace. It is bittersweet but feels right Meredith is still the heartbeat of the show, even when she is flying off into the clouds. Elsewhere, Ben Warren impresses during surgery and gets Bailey’s blessing to pursue a specialty in plastics. The interns provide their usual brand of comic chaos: Benson Kwan fumbles his way out of the Plastics Posse while Kavita Mohanty earns her spot with quick thinking. Jules Millin’s roommate plans a wedding, Simone Griffith misunderstands her motives, and we learn that Jules lives with retirees because they cannot hear her army of alarm clocks. It is weirdly charming in that Grey’s Anatomy way. Meanwhile, Lucas Adams shows unusual interest in a gastric cancer patient, blurring the line between curiosity and crush. “Goodbye Horses” might not have delivered a jaw-dropping cliffhanger, but it nails the emotional beats that keep this long-running series alive. It is about humility, moving forward, and rediscovering purpose themes that feel especially relevant for both the characters and the show itself. Meredith leaving again might sting, but it also sets up fresh stories for the interns to stumble through and the veterans to untangle. Grey’s Anatomy Season 22 Episode 4 proves that even after twenty years of heartbreak and heroics, the doctors of Grey Sloan still know how to keep viewers hooked. It is messy, emotional, occasionally ridiculous, and endlessly entertaining in other words, everything fans have come to expect. If this is the tone for the rest of the season, it looks like Grey Sloan still has plenty of life left in it.

Netflix has officially dropped the trailer for Stranger Things  Season 5, and if you thought Hawkins was safe after the events of Season 4, are your crazy? The final season is gearing up to deliver the chaos, scares, and emotional punches the series has become famous for, and the trailer teases a rollercoaster ride that promises no character will escape unscathed. Right from the opening moments, the trailer makes one thing crystal clear: this is not your nostalgic stroll through Hawkins. Eleven is back, more determined than ever, and fully embracing her role as protector of the gang. Meanwhile, Vecna is back in full force, looking more menacing than ever, which immediately signals that the stakes have skyrocketed. The trailer does an excellent job of balancing suspense and spectacle, giving fans just enough glimpses of familiar faces and new threats without spoiling the narrative. What stands out most is the trailer’s tone. It leans darker than anything we have seen before, hinting at a final season that will leave no emotional stone unturned. Hawkins is in turmoil, with militarized zones, chaotic streets, and supernatural disturbances everywhere. The teaser also teases epic confrontations and emotional reunions, suggesting that Season 5 will tie up lingering storylines while delivering the shocking twists that have defined the show. The episode opens with Kevin Atwater getting ready for his day. Instead of wearing his plainclothes he is getting ready in his patrol uniform. Once at the district Ruzek asks why he is dressed this way. Kevin tells him he has to do foot patrol today, inside the district with Trudy Platt coordinating and lays out the plan. The city wants a show of strength downtown because of a spike in teen takeovers. Foot patrols, marine units, mounted cops, the works. Officers Fox and Atwater trade a few sarcastic jabs while everyone gets their assignments.  Platt tells everyone to pair up and move out. Kevin ends up with Fox, and right away you feel the friction, but it’s clear there is something between the two. They know each other from academy days. Fox says she's counting down her last week before transferring to Miami. He teases her about chasing sunshine and a five-thousand-dollar bonus. She fires back that Chicago’s full of charm until it breaks you. They both know the city takes more than it gives. Out on patrol, Kevin and Fox talk with the family. He mentions his brother and sister now living in Texas with relatives. Fox asks about his dad, and he admits he’s still trucking. She opens up a little too, an old relationship that didn’t last. Fox and Atwater are trying to make the best of their day when they are about to cross an intersection when there is a large explosion!! They rush to the scene, smoke, debris, people running. Atwater calls everything in and starts to access the scene. Platt tells the chief the plan to clear the area and find victims. Atwater tells Fox to have his back. Voight arrives, taking charge of crowd control while Ruzek and Burgess coordinate securing the area. Intelligence and IAD are both involved. The target looks political, maybe tied to city redevelopment projects. The first lead is Richard “Ricky” Robbins, a former felon with one old weapons conviction and known ties to the G-Park Lords. His ex-wife works in the bombed building, and there’s a restraining order keeping him a thousand feet away. It’s an obvious lead, maybe too obvious. Ricky swears he’s innocent, just wanted to see her. Kevin presses him hard; Fox tells him to cooperate or risk getting locked up. He insists he ran only because he knew his past would make him a suspect. Back at the district, Platt organizes video feeds while Fox stays behind reviewing footage. Kevin hits the field with Ruzek assisting. They get dash-cam footage from a CTA bus showing a man in a brown hoodie carrying a package into the building minutes before the blast. The guy leaves without it. Fox notices Rickey taking pictures and he possibly took a picture of the offender. The city might have a domestic terrorist on its hands. Fox and Kevin bicker,after a foot chase that Kevin feels she didn’t have his back. He thinks she’s coasting because she’s leaving; she thinks he doubts her skills. Burgess and Kevin go to get or warn the other members of the realtor investment firm that were not accounted for. Once in the neighborhood Burgess notices a similar silver sedan that was downtown. While trying to warn Mahoney the sedan explodes. Kevin gets thrown to the ground, and Burgess screams his name to make sure he is okay and rushes to pull him up. The shock forces them to reset, both realizing this isn’t just another day on the job. The breakthrough comes from the CTA footage. Ricky, camera in hand, accidentally captures the bomber’s face. Kevin and Fox track him to Garfield Park, meeting Kurt, a store owner that knows Rickey, who doesn’t welcome the cops. Fox lets him know we need his help and that he owes her so tell them where they can find Rickey. At the bat Fox and Atwater question Rickey again. Rickey confesses he was downtown because his wife is divorcing him and he found out she is cheating with her boss. He went to her building to take photos to catch her. Atwater says they need these photographs; it could help their case. Eventually Ricky hands over his phone. The photo identifies Judd Larkin. They run Larkin’s record, nothing serious, just a dropout with a growing online presence. They go to do a search of his home. Once searched his manifesto surfaces: videos railing against gentrification, claiming “real Chicago” is being erased so the rich can profit. The bomb wasn’t random; it was a statement.  Platt coordinates the operation while Burgess and Ruzek brief the officers heading into the field. Fox notices one of his videos wasn’t done by a phone but by a camera and someone is recording him. The question is who. The team goes back to the district and tries to find known associates of Judd Larkin. They stumble onto Ben Husby.  Ben is brought in for questioning and he keeps saying Judd would not do this. They break it down and show him the destruction Judd has done so far today and they are trying to stop another bombing. Ben said that he always mentioned his old school, Warner Middle, now sitting in escrow with a realty group redeveloping the property. He always said that was the place he’d “make a statement.” Voight orders a full sweep: no radios, two-by-two, bomb squad on standby. Kevin and Fox are first inside. Halls are quiet; sunlight cuts through dust. Kevin and Fox pursue Judd. It’s quiet and dark in the basement. Visibility is bad. Kevin is being shot at through a door and is stuck until he hears other shots. It’s Fox and she has her sites on Judd. Kevin tells everyone to vacate the building because they know bombs were placed, they just don’t know where. Kevin and Fox try to take Judd down together in the shootout Fox is shot in the arm.  Kevin is able to take Judd out with a shot to the head.  At the ambulance Kevin thanks Fox for having his back. She tells him to go back to work. Kevin finishes up the crime scene. At MED Fox is surprised to see Kevin has come to take her home. She asks if he’s okay; he nods. The unspoken respect and bond between them hangs in the air. Fox asks were any more devices found and he lets her know two more were found in the school.  Fox jokes about Miami again; Kevin laughs, admitting he never really thought about leaving. She suggests he should. He proposes a drink first. She smiles and says she has a better idea. Kevin and Fox go back to Kevin’s place and they enjoy the evening together. The next morning Kevin wakes up to an empty bed and feels bad, until he sees the post it note saying to come visit her in Miami any time. Kevin smiles and gets up to start the day.  What did you think? Sound off below!

Sharon Norman goes to see her new next door neighbor to welcome her to the neighborhood with a delicious-looking welcome walnut pie. Sharon is the head of the Neighborhood Welcome Committee. Her neighbor is feeling very welcomed as she accepts the pie. The neighbor is Beryl Nix. Sharon tells her she knows all about her, because she’s also a member of the Garden Club and Social Committee. Sharon tells Beryl she can tell she’ll be fun. Sharon gives her a notebook on the community calendar and the suggested guidelines. They don’t have an HOA. Beryl mentions the Towering Maple on the edge of her drive is blocking all the natural light of her studio. Sharon tells her it’s been grandfathered in, and can’t be cut down. Beryl thanks her for all her guidelines and returns the notebook to Sharon before shutting her front door in her face.  She does take the pie.  The next morning Sharon catches her husband, staring out the window at their new neighbor working in her studio, who's in the nude. Sharon is perturbed with their new neighbor. She calls a friend to get some shades for her new neighbor’s windows. That anxiety grows to straight out anger with the continued infractions Beryl commits next door. She parties many times, completely frustrating Sharon. Her husband and daughter find Beryl interesting and she sends them notes and tasty snacks. Sharon is against all of this bribery.  Beryl’s arrival disrupts Sharon and her husband’s peaceful life. The Towering Maple is a symbolic part of their family.  Later, that very tree is ruled dead and has to be cut down. Beryl consoles Sharon. At the community meeting, Sharon finds that Beryl is becoming a bigger influence. She seems to be undermining her authority with all the ladies in the meeting. Beryl wants to change and spice up the Halloween Maze for this year. All of the ladies are excited and agree, against Sharon’s wishes. Oddly, Sharon volunteers to help Beryl set up the maze. Halloween night, Sharon chops off Beryl’s head after her daughter, Avery, leaves for a party. Beryl recognized Sharon dressed in hospital scrubs and wearing a mask, before she’s murdered. Sharon uses a chainsaw to commit the murder. The next morning, Sharon talks to a maintenance man outside Beryl’s house. Beryl’s not there, so Sharon signs the authorization form for the maintenance crew to  clean up the Halloween props in Beryl’s yard.  At the NYPD’s station, Detective Donnelly is elated when their IT whiz, Julia Wagner, shows her a trick to help improve her use of an app on her cell phone. Detective Rivers isn’t impressed. He tells Julia they need to upgrade all their computer equipment. Elsbeth makes a surprising appearance in the squad room dressed like Eliza on “My Fair Lady”. She even uses a Cockney accent that rivals a real one. Captain Wagner interrupts them with news of a case outside the city. He chastises Elsbeth for showing up dressed in costume and tells her Halloween is over. She tells him her costumes arrived late and now she’s trying them out for a week, calling it “Halloweek”. Elsbeth looks pretty cute in her Eliza costume. Captain Wagner tells Elsbeth she’s going to love this murder mystery. Detective Rivers thinks it’s cool. Guess where the murder took place? Why is Elsbeth going to love this murder? It’s perfect for the place where the murder occurred. Elsbeth’s Halloween episode can’t get any better than this!  The team arrives at Beryl’s house as the maintenance crew clears away all the props in the yard. Elsbeth hasn’t changed, and kinda fits right in. She talks with the maintenance crew leader, Chop. Detective Donnelly asks him who let them in to do all the scooping of the props and Sharon shows up just in time. The leader points at her. Elsbeth introduces them to Sharon, and quietly observes her as she answers Detective Donnelly’s questions. Donnelly explains why they are there doing the investigation. Elsbeth points out to Sharon she didn’t even ask how Beryl died before blaming Chop. This makes her wonder about Sharon's involvement.  Sharon continues to lie to the police, as Elsbeth toys with the wind chimes. They irritate Sharon and she grabs them from Elsbeth to silence them. Another erratic characteristic Elsbeth notices. Annaleigh Ashford’s portrayal of Sharon Norman is perfect. She is so good at playing a nosy, slightly neurotic, know-it-all, annoying neighbor. Beryl Nix is played perfectly by Kate Jennings Grant as the free-spirited, artistic creator, wild child that challenges the norm, brings out Sharon’s antipathetic feelings toward Beryl slowly until they boil over. Love the way this murder is played out, and the sleuthing skills exhibited by Elsbeth, and this week’s investigative team of Detectives Donnelly and Rivers. The rotating of the detectives is also a unique stroke of genius in the Elsbeth show.  They are all great to see, and haven’t found one combination I haven’t enjoyed seeing working together with Elsbeth. Like how Julia and Cameron work together. They are both nerds in their own fields and seem to bond over tech. Julia can tell Cameron how the software works in Beryl’s fitness tracker heart rate monitor, and Cameron is happy it can give him Beryl’s exact time of death. This is an interesting tool that helps with solving the murder mystery, and possibly starts a new romance. One, Captain Wagner is not pleased to see.  Elsbeth plays close attention to Sharon as she begins investigating the murder. It’s interesting to see how Elsbeth’s character is improving her interrogation techniques of closely studying the possible murderer during casual conversation and still seem unassuming. Donnelly and Elsbeth both study the footage of Beryl’s home, back at the station. Elsbeth has also done another costume change, but it doesn’t phase Donnelly at all. Liked them discussing how knowing thy neighbors is different in the city compared to the suburbs and small towns.   What characters add a new puzzle piece to this beheading mystery? Where was Avery Norman on Halloween? What is MFT? Where did they find the murder weapon? Why does Captain Wagner talk to Cameron? Why does Sharon have a meltdown that tells on her? Who and What really killed the Towering Maple Tree?  Elsbeth is determined to prove Sharon Norman killed Beryl. It’s wonderful to see how well she and Detective Donnelly prove it. The recreation was done with fantastic flair, like Elsbeth. Everyone in the community contributed their part that helped show how Beryl was killed.   This was a scary and fun Halloween episode with community involvement and flair.  Loved how the investigation rolled along and interwoven with Elsbeth’s numerous costume changes. She even had a Halloween bag as an accessory. There were also some excellent and surprisingly cute scenes between Julia and Captain Wagner, and Captain Wagner’s exasperation when he finds out who Julia chooses to date.  Julia is a definite scene stealer, and so is Detective Donnelly. The episode’s title was very apropos, and I found myself laughing out loud at some scenes. It was very entertaining and I gave it 4.7 out of 5 Stars .  What did you think? The annual Halloween episode of Ghosts  has become as reliable as pumpkin spice season, and this year’s entry, Halloween 5: The Mummy , doesn’t disappoint. The supernatural comedy once again proves why it’s the perfect mix of charming, spooky, and delightfully ridiculous. The gang at Woodstone Manor faces off against an ancient Egyptian mummy, and the results are as funny as they are freaky. It all starts when Sam and Jay stumble upon a mummy Hetty once had shipped to Woodstone decades ago because, as she proudly reminds everyone, “it was all the rage.” This is Hetty, after all, the woman who thinks cocaine is an acceptable party favor and child labor is just good business sense. Naturally, reading the accompanying scroll was a terrible idea, and sure enough, our favorite living couple accidentally summon the ghost of Amunhotep, a very cranky mummy who’s not thrilled with the Woodstone lineage. The curse comes swiftly and hilariously. Locusts, rats, and even Amunhotep’s mummified body spring to life, sending the manor into chaos. The episode gleefully leans into its obvious inspiration, the Brendan Fraser Mummy  franchise, even name-dropping it, as if to say, “Yes, we know what we’re doing.” Honestly, I expected Fraser himself to pop up with a whip and quip. Meanwhile, Woodstone has been transformed into a haunted house attraction for the locals, meaning the living partygoers are completely oblivious that the “real” mummy walking around isn’t part of the entertainment. It’s a classic Ghosts  setup, chaos for the undead, cluelessness for the living and the comedic timing couldn’t be better. To undo the curse, Sam and the ghosts must help Amunhotep find peace by reuniting him with his long-lost wife back in Egypt. It’s oddly touching amid the absurdity, and it gives Hetty one of her better moments of self-reflection, rare as those are. Elsewhere in Woodstone, Nigel returns, prompting Isaac to come clean about a rather awkward lie involving poor stripper Chris. Isaac admits (after Sam told the truth) he fibbed about Chris being “sucked off” because he didn’t want to upset Nigel, a confession that lands somewhere between sweet and cringe, which is exactly where Ghosts  lives best. It’s a genuinely tender beat that reminds us the show can still find emotional weight even when there’s a walking mummy nearby. One glaring absence? Sass. Every fan knows not every ghost makes the cut for each episode, but his sharp one-liners were sorely missed. With such a large ensemble, it’s understandable but still disappointing for those of us who love his energy. Halloween 5: The Mummy  is another home run for Ghosts ’ annual spooky special. It hits all the marks: clever writing, strong ensemble moments, a bit of heart, and enough slapstick to keep things light. The pacing is quick, the jokes land, and the episode feels like a well-oiled Halloween machine. Sure, the mummy’s backstory could have used a bit more meat, and Nigel’s subplot feels slightly wedged in, but that’s a small price to pay for such a tight, fast-paced half hour. This show knows exactly what it is, a supernatural sitcom that never takes itself too seriously and it leans into that with confidence. Once again, Ghosts  proves that even five seasons in, it hasn’t lost its haunted mojo. Between the biting wit, the running gags, and the ongoing chaos of the afterlife, Halloween 5: The Mummy  earns its place among the show’s best holiday episodes. Just maybe don’t read any mysterious scrolls at your next Halloween party.

Abbott Elementary: Camp Abbott Barb is in her element this week, literally. While the rest of the teachers are dragging through the Halloween season, she’s harmonizing in music class and dreaming up something wholesome: a camping trip for the older kids. Because when the kids talk about vandalizing for fun, Barb hears “outdoor learning opportunity.”  Bless her heart. The Setup Ava is, of course, focused on her own Halloween plans, while the other teachers are running on fumes. Tasha’s got the right idea with a Halloweentown  marathon, but Barb has other plans: she’s already got permission slips, permits, and a campsite reserved. The woman came prepared. The rest of the teachers? Not so much. They want no parts but Melissa, volunteers everyone. They all agree that Barb won’t last an hour in the wilderness. The Campout Cut to Barb thriving like she’s auditioning for Survivor: South Philly Edition . Ava shows up “to make sure there are no casualties,” which, let’s be honest, is a way for her to brag and take credit for the success of the trip, and also, deep down, she truly cares. When attempts to scare Barb into retreating fail, Jacob steps up to tell a spooky story, because of course he does. Then comes Mr. Johnson, draped in a Gladiator cloak, declaring he’s Denzel’s character but quoting lines from Training Day  and Remember the Titans . Pure chaos. The kids scatter like extras in Sleepaway Camp. Gregory and Janine’s Moment While searching for the kids, Gregory and Janine get lost in the woods. They have a romantic moment, talking and leaning on each other, chemistry popping, and reminding us why she shipped them so hard.  Barb eventually finds them, sees what’s happening, and, because she’s Barb and possibly meddling, offers to give them some “peace and quiet” alone. Later, a park ranger stumbles upon the campsite and tells them that they have broken several hundred rules. Barb shows her permit, but it was issued for a different park. No fear, Barb smooths it over by letting him use her deluxe bathroom setup. By morning, the teachers are refreshed; it seems they needed the tip more than they realized… except poor Jacob, who emerges from the woods looking like he fought a swarm of mosquitoes and lost. Badly. Final Thoughts This episode was a 10/10 . Classic Abbott —funny, smart, and grounded in the lovable chaos we’ve come to expect. The comedic timing hit every beat, from Ava’s sarcasm to Barb’s unwavering faith in nature. And that little Gregory–Janine spark? Bonus points for that.
