STARZ Unleashes First Trailer for Spartacus: House of Ashur — The Treacherous Gladiator Rises Again

Four warriors in ancient armor stand confidently in a sandy, rustic setting. They're wearing detailed, colorful costumes, exuding strength.

The gods of Rome aren’t done with Spartacus just yet. STARZ has dropped the official trailer and key art for Spartacus: House of Ashur, a brand-new chapter in the blood-soaked universe that made the network a cult favorite. The series will debut with a two-episode premiere on Friday, December 5, streaming on the STARZ app and all STARZ platforms, followed by weekly episodes every Friday.

Ashur Lives and He’s Done Playing the Servant

In a bold twist on the classic saga, House of Ashur resurrects fan-favorite villain Ashur (Nick E. Tarabay) the scheming former slave and gladiator who now returns as Dominus, master of his own ludus. Fueled by vengeance and a lust for power, Ashur’s rise from betrayal to dominance sets the stage for a new era of blood, ambition, and twisted loyalty in Ancient Rome.

New Faces, New Battles

The NSFW trailer teases a deadly new lineup of warriors and rivals, including:

  • Graham McTavish (The Witcher, House of the Dragon) as Korris, a hardened gladiator trainer

  • Tenika Davis (Jupiter’s Legacy) as Achillia, a fierce gladiatrix determined to prove herself

  • Jordi Webber (Choose Love) as Tarchon, a cunning up-and-comer with his own ambitions

The Roman political stage expands with Julius Caesar (Jackson Gallagher) and Cornelia (Jaime Slater) joining the mix, promising a blend of power games, betrayal, and bloodsport worthy of the Spartacus name.

The Legacy Continues

Original Spartacus creator Steven S. DeKnight (Daredevil) returns as showrunner and executive producer, alongside Rick Jacobson (Ash vs Evil Dead) and Aaron Helbing (The Flash). The series is produced by Lionsgate Television for STARZ.

The trailer promises everything longtime fans crave, outrageous spectacle, erotic tension, and gladiatorial carnage with a new, darker spin: What if Ashur had lived, and the Romans rewarded his treachery?

All previous Spartacus chapters, including Blood and Sand, Gods of the Arena, Vengeance, and War of the Damned, are now streaming on the STARZ app.
