đŸ”„ Kendrick, SZA, Doechii & Chris Brown Dominate the 2025 BET Awards — and Yes, Blue Ivy Won. Again.

Man smiling on stage, wearing a black suit and light blue head wrap, holding a star-shaped award, blue background, microphone nearby.

The 2025 BET Awards came, saw, and delivered vibes. From Kendrick Lamar collecting awards like Infinity Stones to Blue Ivy casually adding “award winner” to her school bio, the night was a perfect storm of culture, nostalgia, and well-deserved shade.

Oh — and there was a 106 & Park reunion that sent the crowd straight back to their middle and high school bedrooms and Baby Phat jeans. Buckle up. Here’s everything that went down at the BET Awards last night.

👑 Kendrick Lamar Wasn’t Just Nominated — He Was on a Mission

Kendrick Lamar pulled a full sweep. Let’s break it down:

  • Album of the Year – GNX

  • Best Male Hip Hop Artist – Because who else?

  • Video of the Year – “Not Like Us” (aka the diss track heard around the world)

  • Best Collaboration – “Luther” with SZA, and yes, it absolutely slaps.

Honestly, BET might as well rename these categories “Best Kendrick Thing.”

đŸŽ€ SZA Keeps Winning Without Breaking a Sweat

SZA floated into the night looking unbothered and left with Best Female R&B/Pop Artist. As she should. Also, her collab with Kendrick on “Luther” got Best Collaboration, proving once again that the only thing better than SZA solo is SZA with a West Coast co-sign.

💅 Doechii Is No Longer the Underdog

Surprise, surprise — Doechii came for necks and took Best Female Hip Hop Artist, dethroning giants like Cardi B, Nicki, and Megan Thee Stallion. And this wasn’t a fluke — she was nominated in basically every major category. If Kendrick was the king of the night, Doechii was the scene-stealing queen.

đŸŽ¶ Chris Brown’s Not Leaving — And You’ll Keep Voting for Him

Chris Brown may exist in controversy limbo, but the fans? They ride HARD. He snagged Best Male R&B/Pop Artist and the Viewer’s Choice Award for “Residuals.” You might not admit you voted for him — but we know you did.

🐣 Leon Thomas III Won Best New Artist and All the Millennials Cheered

You probably screamed, “Isn’t that AndrĂ© from Victorious?!” And yes — yes it is. But Leon Thomas III isn’t just a Nickelodeon relic anymore. He’s now Best New Artist, beating out today’s viral faves with actual vocals and zero TikTok dances. Talent won. Who knew?

🎬 Denzel’s Still Denzel, Cynthia’s a Queen, and Luther Is Your New Favorite Movie

Denzel Washington took home Best Actor (because that’s just what legends do), while Cynthia Erivo rightfully snatched Best Actress. The Luther: Never Too Much film won Best Movie, because Idris Elba + dramatic lighting = automatic win.

🏀 Sports Royalty: Angel Reese and Jalen Hurts for the W

Angel Reese took Sportswoman of the Year, serving both buckets and red carpet looks. Meanwhile, Jalen Hurts won Sportsman of the Year, proving again that quarterbacks and charisma are a dangerous combo.

🌍 International Heat: Ajuliacosta Lights Up Brazil

Brazil's Ajuliacosta walked away with Best New International Act, while fan favorites like Ayra Starr, Tyla, and Rema kept the global vibes strong in the international categories. Afrobeat and amapiano still own your playlist, and you know it.

đŸŒ Blue Ivy Carter Adds “BET Award Winner” to Her Eight Grade RĂ©sumĂ©

Blue Ivy Carter — yes, that Blue Ivy — won the YoungStars Award, because being Beyoncé’s daughter isn’t just a title, it’s a lifestyle. Let’s be real: she’s going to EGOT before she’s old enough to vote.

đŸŽ€ Throwback Heaven: The 106 & Park Reunion Slapped HARD

In a move that sent every millennial’s inner child into cardiac arrest, BET dropped the ultimate nostalgia nuke with a 106 & Park reunion segment.

  • Lil Bow Wow returned (sans the “Lil,” but forever baby-faced).

  • Ashanti reminded everyone she never needed auto-tune to crush a high note.

  • B2K hit the stage and yes, Omarion did hit the spin. If you didn’t moonwalk into a time machine back to 2003, were you even watching?

For five glorious minutes, it was all sidekicks, bedazzled jeans, and burned CDs. BET gave the people what they needed — and we’re still recovering.

🏆 And the Rest of the Winners Were

  • Best Group: Future and Metro Boomin — clearly we do trust them.

  • BET Her Award: Summer Walker for “Heart of a Woman” — the queen of sad-girl R&B prevails.

  • Gospel/Inspo: GloRilla, Kirk Franklin, and Maverick City Music — holy trap is now a genre.

  • Video Director of the Year: Dave Free and Kendrick Lamar — again. Kendrick is coming for the behind-the-camera bag, too.

The BET Awards also gave out the Ultimate Icon Award to Jamie Foxx, Kirk Franklin, Snoop Dogg and Mariah Carey.

💅 Kendrick Ate, Doechii Arrived, and the 2000s Took Over

From Kendrick Lamar’s award show domination to Doechii’s rise, Chris Brown’s fan-fueled comeback, and the 106 & Park throwback that absolutely sent us — the 2025 BET Awards delivered everything: drama, nostalgia, and unapologetic Black excellence.

Next year, just let Blue Ivy host. We're ready.
