‘Where’s Wanda?’ Season 2 Premieres Today, and This Family Has a Brand-New Murder Problem

Some television families have disagreements about chores, relationships, or who's picking up dinner. The Klatt family? They apparently prefer their domestic problems with a side of criminal investigations.
Apple TV's German-language dark comedy Where's Wanda? returns for Season 2 on Wednesday, October 21, and just when this family thought their nightmare was finally over, another disaster has landed directly on their doorstep. Actually, this one involves a dead body, because finding your missing daughter apparently isn't enough drama for one household.
Wanda Is Back, but Now There's a Murder to Solve
The first season followed Carlotta and Dedo Klatt, played by Heike Makatsch and Axel Stein, as they launched their own increasingly outrageous investigation into the disappearance of their teenage daughter Wanda (Lea Drinda). Their desperate search led them into the private lives of their neighbors, exposing secrets that probably should have stayed behind closed doors.
But who needs boundaries when your child is missing? The Klatts certainly didn't seem particularly concerned about privacy when they were determined to find Wanda, and that willingness to cross every conceivable line became one of the show's most entertaining qualities.
After all that chaos, the family finally has an opportunity to return to something resembling normal life. Unfortunately, that dream doesn't last very long, because Season 2 finds Wanda standing over a dead body, seemingly caught in
circumstances that make her look extremely suspicious.
Instead of searching for their missing daughter, Carlotta and Dedo must now prove that the daughter they worked so hard to find isn't responsible for a murder. It's quite the parenting challenge, especially for two people whose investigative methods haven't always been particularly conventional.
The Klatts Are About to Make Another Mess
The investigation sends the family into the criminal underbelly of their seemingly peaceful suburban community, where they must uncover the real killer before Wanda's future is destroyed. Of course, anyone familiar with the first season knows the Klatts aren't exactly professional detectives.
They're resourceful, determined, and willing to take enormous risks, but they're also the kind of people whose attempts to fix a problem can create three completely new ones. And when you're dealing with a potential murder investigation, making things worse can have considerably more serious consequences than upsetting the neighbors.
That's part of the show's appeal. Where's Wanda? combines an emotionally complicated family story with dark humor, crime, and the uncomfortable realization that even the quietest neighborhood can be hiding some truly disturbing secrets.
The second season also brings back Leo Simon and introduces Nikeata Thompson to the cast. With the family's original mystery resolved, the series has an opportunity to explore a different kind of danger while maintaining the absurdity that made its first season stand out.
When Do New Episodes of Where's Wanda? Season 2 Air?
Season 2 consists of eight episodes, beginning Wednesday, October 21, on Apple TV. Unlike some of today's other streaming premieres, Where's Wanda? is following a weekly release schedule, with new episodes arriving every Wednesday through December 9, 2026.
That means fans will have plenty of opportunities to develop theories, accuse the wrong people, and wonder how this family keeps finding itself in situations that would send most of us straight to a lawyer. The Klatts wanted normal family life, but they've traded a missing-person investigation for a murder mystery.
At this point, somebody might want to suggest a nice family vacation, preferably somewhere without a crime scene. Then again, with this family's luck, they'd probably stumble across another suspicious situation before they even checked into the hotel.
Where's Wanda? Season 2 is now streaming on Apple TV.
