Thursday television is bringing relationship complications, volcanic disasters, medical emergencies and enough family drama to make everyone reconsider answering their phones. Netflix welcomes Kristen Bell and Adam Brody back for Season 3 of Nobody Wants This, while ABC continues its three-hour drama lineup with 9-1-1, 9-1-1: Nashville and Grey's Anatomy.

CBS also has a busy evening, with Elsbeth investigating a murder involving a former pop star while dealing with an unexpected visit from her mother. Meanwhile, American Horror Story: 13 delivers two more episodes, NBC continues The Traitors and Law & Order, and the Billboard Latin Music Awards celebrate another year of Latin music.

Between all the murder investigations, complicated relationships and reality television disagreements, Thursday has plenty of entertainment. Apparently, nobody on television is interested in having a peaceful evening.

TV Cave Top Pick: Nobody Wants This

Our Top Pick goes to Nobody Wants This, returning for Season 3 today on Netflix. Kristen Bell and Adam Brody reprise their roles as Joanne and Noah, whose unconventional romance has already survived enough complications to make most couples consider taking an extended vacation from each other.

With all 10 episodes available today, Netflix is giving fans plenty of time to become emotionally invested in everyone else's problems before the weekend even begins.

‘9-1-1’ Continues Its Volcanic Nightmare

ABC begins its Thursday drama lineup with 9-1-1 at 8 PM ET, and Los Angeles is still dealing with the aftermath of last week's catastrophic events.

Tonight's episode, “Fire in the Hole,” finds the 118 attempting to rescue residents as lava spreads across the city. Because an earthquake apparently wasn't enough, Los Angeles now has to contend with the possibility of being swallowed by molten rock. Meanwhile, Athena encounters someone familiar while searching for an escape from a collapsed tunnel. Maddie also faces an impossible decision, adding another emotional complication to an already dangerous situation.

9-1-1 has never been particularly interested in keeping its disasters small, but the opening storyline of Season 10 is taking that philosophy to another level. Between the collapsing infrastructure, dangerous rescues and personal crises, the 118 has barely had an opportunity to recover from the premiere. At this rate, someone should probably check whether the city has anything left standing.

‘9-1-1: Nashville’ Brings More Bizarre Emergencies

At 9 PM, 9-1-1: Nashville continues Season 2 with “Boys and Boils.” The 113 responds to a series of unusual emergencies involving mysterious sounds coming from apartment walls and dangerous beauty products. Meanwhile, Nashville's newest criminal continues terrorizing the city with increasingly disturbing threats.

Cammie receives a direct call from the mysterious figure, while Don and Ryan find themselves clashing. Blythe also remains determined to maintain some distance in her marriage, proving that the personal problems aren't going anywhere simply because everyone has more pressing emergencies to handle. The season is leaning heavily into strange cases and escalating family tension, giving the spinoff a distinctive personality alongside the original series. And considering last week's premiere involved murder hornets, we're almost afraid to ask what Nashville has planned next.

‘Grey's Anatomy’ Brings More Trouble to Grey Sloan

ABC closes its evening with Grey's Anatomy at 10 PM ET. Tonight's episode, “Slippin' and Slidin',” finds Bailey adjusting to life as a student while working alongside Blue on a medical emergency involving fraternity hazing. Yes, Bailey is back in a classroom, and anyone familiar with her personality knows she's probably not going to enjoy being treated like someone who doesn't know what she's doing.

Meanwhile, Meredith continues dividing her attention between Boston and Seattle as she advocates for a young patient. Amelia and Toni also offer support to Jo, whose personal and professional responsibilities remain complicated.

After last week's chaotic season premiere, Grey Sloan is attempting to settle into its new normal. Unfortunately, this hospital has never been particularly good at keeping things normal for very long. Between Bailey's latest career challenge, Meredith's ongoing responsibilities and the changing dynamics among the doctors, Season 23 is already giving fans plenty to discuss.

‘Elsbeth’ Welcomes Her Mother While ‘Cupertino’ Tackles Another Case

CBS continues its Thursday lineup with Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage at 8 PM, followed by Eternally Yours at 8:31 PM.

In Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage, Georgie and Mandy struggle with CeeCee beginning preschool. The milestone brings another adjustment for the young parents, who are discovering that raising a child involves a seemingly endless collection of new worries.

Meanwhile, Eternally Yours continues with “The Mistake,” as the vampire coven organizes an initiation celebration for a newcomer. Inviting the community into vampire business sounds like a perfectly reasonable idea, assuming nobody has learned anything from decades of supernatural television.

At 9:01 PM, Elsbeth returns with “Consciously Unsistered.” Carrie Preston's unconventional investigator looks into the murder of a former pop star, with suspicion surrounding the victim's strained relationship with her successful lifestyle-brand entrepreneur sister.

Jemima Kirke guest stars as Winter Redgrave, while Christine Ebersole makes her appearance as Elsbeth's mother, Lydia.

As if investigating a murder involving family rivalry weren't complicated enough, Elsbeth now has her own mother visiting. Something tells us she's about to discover that solving crimes might be easier than managing her personal life.

CBS closes the night with Cupertino at 10 PM, as Michael Price and his team encounter another troubling case involving technology. In “Juno,” a grieving mother believes a companion chatbot contributed to her son's decision to kill his father. The case raises difficult questions about artificial intelligence, responsibility and what happens when technology becomes deeply involved in people's personal lives.

‘American Horror Story: 13’ Moves Closer to Its Finale

FX delivers two new episodes of American Horror Story: 13 beginning at 9 PM ET. The installments, “Madison's Happy Ending” and “Sisters in Arms,” continue the season's supernatural storyline as the Coven faces another dangerous threat. Madison becomes involved with a mysterious newcomer, while Fiona confronts a troubling family secret. The witches are also preparing for an enemy that could prove more dangerous than anything they've encountered so far.

With the season finale scheduled for October 29, tonight's episodes are setting the stage for the final confrontation.

The return of familiar characters has given Season 13 plenty of nostalgic appeal, but the story still needs to deliver a satisfying conclusion. Bringing everyone back is fun; giving them something worthwhile to do is even better.

‘The Traitors,’ ‘Law & Order’ and More Thursday Favorites

NBC begins its evening with The Traitors: New Blood at 8 PM, as the remaining contestants continue attempting to identify the people secretly working against them.

Tonight's competition introduces another opportunity for a player to gain an advantage, potentially changing the balance of power inside the castle.

The problem with a game built around deception is that everyone eventually starts treating even the most innocent conversation like evidence of a criminal conspiracy. At this point, simply asking someone to pass the salt could probably start an argument.

At 9 PM, Law & Order: SVU continues with “Anonymity,” as Benson's team investigates a disturbing online exploitation network. The investigation becomes more complicated when an internal conflict threatens the case. The original Law & Order follows at 10 PM with “Bad News,” involving the murder of a newspaper editor and secrets surrounding the victim's professional life.

Meanwhile, FOX continues Hell's Kitchen and Special Forces: World's Toughest Test, while Bravo has another new episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County.
