Susan Flannery Returns to ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Set, and There's Another Familiar Face Coming Back!

Five smiling adults pose together in a bright home foyer near a staircase, wearing casual and dressy clothes.

Well, look who decided to pay the Forresters a visit! Susan Flannery, the legendary actress who brought Stephanie Forrester to life on The Bold and the Beautiful for 25 years, made a special return to the show's set on Tuesday, October 20, and longtime soap fans are understandably losing their minds.

And she didn't make the trip alone! Flannery was joined by fellow B&B alum Ian Buchanan, who portrayed Dr. James Warwick, for a nostalgic reunion with familiar faces from the CBS daytime drama. While the visit doesn't mean Stephanie is suddenly rising from the dead, there's another familiar Forrester family member who actually is heading back to our screens.

Susan Flannery Reunites With Her Bold and Beautiful Family

According to Soap Opera Digest, Flannery visited the show's production home at Sunset Las Palmas Studios in Hollywood, where she reconnected with Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan), Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy Forrester), Jennifer Gareis (Donna Logan), and Alley Mills (Pam Douglas).

The reunion was particularly special because The Bold and the Beautiful moved from its longtime home at CBS Television City to Sunset Las Palmas Studios in August 2025. Although the surroundings have changed, Flannery made it clear that seeing her former colleagues brought back plenty of memories.

Speaking with Soap Opera Digest, Flannery described the experience as feeling like a homecoming, even in a different studio.

She also recalled the long production days and those famously uncomfortable high heels, proving that being the queen of Forrester Creations wasn't always glamorous. Executive producer Casey Kasprzyk also shared a glimpse of Flannery and Buchanan's visit on social media, giving fans a reason to celebrate the reunion.

Could Stephanie Forrester Return?

Now, before everybody starts clearing their schedules for Stephanie's big comeback, there's one very important detail: Flannery's visit has not been announced as an official acting return.

Still, we can't blame fans for getting excited. Stephanie Forrester was the backbone of The Bold and the Beautiful for decades, and her legendary battles with Brooke Logan remain some of the show's most memorable moments.

Stephanie could deliver an insult, destroy somebody's romantic plans, and defend her family in the same conversation without so much as messing up her hair. And let's not pretend the current generation of Forresters couldn't use a lecture or two from the original family matriarch.

Flannery retired from the series in 2012, when Stephanie died following a battle with lung cancer. Her heartbreaking final scenes with Brooke marked the end of an era, although the character has made occasional appearances through visions and memories since then. Could another such appearance happen someday? It's possible, but nothing has been confirmed.

Alley Mills Is Returning as Pam Douglas!

While Flannery and Buchanan's visits have sparked plenty of speculation, there is one confirmed casting development. Soap Opera Digest reports that Alley Mills will reprise her role as Pam Douglas in an upcoming episode of The Bold and the Beautiful.

Mills last appeared on the soap in 2024, and her return gives longtime fans another connection to the Forrester family's earlier days. Pam, Stephanie's younger sister, has delivered plenty of memorable moments over the years, often bringing a little humor to the family's never-ending drama.

And considering the state of the Forrester and Logan families, Pam certainly won't be returning to a peaceful household. These people could turn a disagreement over breakfast into a six-month storyline, so there's no shortage of material waiting for her.

Two Soap Legends Revisit Their Old Stomping Grounds

Buchanan's appearance was another welcome surprise for fans who remember Dr. James Warwick, a character whose history includes one particularly complicated relationship with Sheila Carter.

Buchanan played James beginning in 1993 and made several subsequent returns, most recently in 2017. His friendship with Flannery has continued long after their time working together regularly, making their joint visit an especially sweet moment.

For longtime The Bold and the Beautiful fans, seeing Flannery and Buchanan back among their former colleagues is a reminder of the characters and performers who helped build the soap into a daytime institution.

There's no confirmation that either actor is returning to the series, but with Pam officially coming back, the nostalgia is already running high. And if the writers ever decide that Stephanie Forrester needs to make another heavenly appearance to straighten out her family, we certainly wouldn't complain.

Because one thing is for sure: Stephanie would have PLENTY to say about the mess these people have gotten themselves into.
