What to Watch Monday, September 7: The Librarians Finale, WWE Raw & Fan Level Midnight

Labor Day television is not exactly taking the holiday off. The Librarians: The Next Chapter wraps its second season tonight just 24 hours after airing its penultimate episode, while WWE brings Monday Night Raw to Birmingham with a Women's World Championship match and the beginning of the road to Money in the Bank. Peacock also has something specifically designed for people who can identify every employee of Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch: the new six-part documentary Fan Level Midnight: Devoted to The Office.

Sports are doing a lot of the heavy lifting during the daytime hours. The U.S. Open continues its Round of 16 from Flushing Meadows, Labor Day college football closes Week 1 with No. 19 SMU visiting Florida State, and NBC/Peacock gets an afternoon MLB matchup. Once primetime arrives, All American, 90 Day: The Last Resort, Below Deck Mediterranean and Beat Shazam join the mix.

TV Cave Top Pick: The Librarians: The Next Chapter Ends Season 2

TNT really made The Librarians fans work this weekend.

After Episode 11 aired Sunday night, The Librarians: The Next Chapter returns tonight at 9 PM ET for its Season 2 finale, “And the Camelot Conundrum.” The 12-episode season has been using Sunday-Monday pairings for the back half of its run, and tonight finally brings that unusual schedule to an end.

The finale sends the team after another magical artifact when Merlin's distress call leads them to a town whose entire population has mysteriously fallen asleep. Finding the object responsible means confronting nightmares that become considerably more real than anyone would like. Coming directly after Sunday's Camelot story, it's another reminder that this season stopped messing around as it approached the finish line.

That makes The Librarians: The Next Chapter our TV Cave Top Pick. TNT has spent the past several weeks making viewers remember whether a new episode was airing Sunday, Monday or both, so anybody who successfully kept up deserves to see how this thing ends.

The Office Fans Get Their Own Documentary

If you have ever visited Scranton specifically because of The Office, quoted “Dinner Party” more times than any reasonable person should or somehow still have opinions about whether Jim and Pam were actually good coworkers, Peacock has found you.

Fan Level Midnight: Devoted to The Office premieres today on Peacock, with all six episodes available to stream. The documentary turns the camera away from Michael, Dwight, Jim and Pam and toward the viewers who helped turn The Office into something much bigger than the NBC comedy that ended its original run in 2013.

The series looks at the show's lasting fandom, including the real-world places and communities that have grown around it. That includes Scranton itself as well as the Van Nuys studio where the series was produced. Nearly two decades after The Office premiered, Peacock is basically asking why people are still this obsessed with a regional paper company whose management practices should have resulted in approximately 700 HR investigations.

WWE Raw Starts the Road to Money in the Bank

Monday Night Raw streams live at 8 PM ET on Netflix from Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama, and WWE has already confirmed a significant championship match for tonight.

Women's World Champion Liv Morgan defends against Stephanie Vaquer, while the first qualifying matches for Money in the Bank also begin. The show follows Sunday's Sunday Night's Main Event, so several storylines from Atlanta are carrying directly into tonight.

With Money in the Bank scheduled for October 10 in New Orleans, tonight is where the next major WWE cycle begins. That briefcase has ruined enough friendships, alliances and perfectly good championship celebrations over the years that nobody should be excited to see it return, yet here we are.

SMU and Florida State Get Labor Day to Themselves

College football's first full weekend ends tonight with No. 19 SMU visiting Florida State at 7:30 PM ET on ESPN.

Florida State already has a game under its belt after beating New Mexico State 34-17 during Week 0, while SMU makes its 2026 debut tonight. This is only the second meeting between the programs; SMU won their first matchup 42-16 in Dallas during the 2024 season.

More importantly for college football fans, there isn't a wall of 15 games competing for attention tonight. After Saturday required multiple televisions, several remotes and perhaps an air-traffic controller, Labor Day gives SMU-Florida State the national stage to itself.

All American Has a Baker Family Problem

All American continues Season 8 at 8 PM ET on The CW with Episode 10, “All That I Got Is You.” The Baker family crisis that has been building through the season gets worse tonight, leaving Cassius caught between his immediate family and the Bakers while the football showcase approaches. Coop also goes looking for Spencer as she continues trying to help Preach, while Layla's effort to keep Jordan calm doesn't exactly produce the intended result.

Season 8 still has three episodes remaining after tonight, including the September 28 finale, so we're entering the stretch where those separate storylines need to start converging. And if there is one thing All American has taught us over eight seasons, it is that a Baker family crisis is rarely solved by everyone calmly sitting down and communicating.

The U.S. Open Owns Labor Day Afternoon

Before primetime gets busy, ESPN has seven straight hours of U.S. Open coverage beginning at 11 AM ET as the Round of 16 continues from the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York. The daytime session runs until 6 PM, when ESPN2 takes over with U.S. Open Match Point. Primetime play begins at 7 PM on ESPN2 and continues through 11 PM. The men's and women's quarterfinals begin Tuesday.

So Monday offers a pretty clean holiday menu: tennis throughout the afternoon, one nationally televised college-football game at night, wrestling on Netflix, reality TV across Bravo and TLC, All American on The CW and one last magical emergency for the Librarians.

After making us remember that there was a new episode last night AND tonight, TNT owes us a good finale.
