Rob Rausch and Maura Higgins Are Teaming Up Again — This Time to Host Peacock’s ‘Get Me Out of Here’

Apparently one reality show together just wasn’t enough for Rob Rausch and Maura Higgins.

Fresh off their memorable run together on The Traitors Season 4, Rausch and Higgins are teaming up again, this time as co-hosts of Peacock’s upcoming reality competition Get Me Out of Here. The working-title series is an updated U.S. take on the long-running international format I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and is expected to premiere sometime in 2027.

And considering how things ended between these two on The Traitors, putting them together again feels like a pretty easy decision.

Rausch ultimately won Season 4 after revealing himself as a Traitor in the finale, leaving Higgins, the last remaining Faithful, stunned by the betrayal. The two had developed a close friendship throughout the season, making that final reveal sting even more. Rausch later softened the blow by following through on a promise to buy Higgins a Birkin bag with some of his winnings.

Now they’ll be leaving the Scottish castle behind for the jungle. Get Me Out of Here will put a new spin on the familiar I’m a Celebrity setup. Rather than sending celebrities into the wilderness by themselves, each celebrity will enter the competition alongside a non-famous friend or family member.

The pairs will be stripped of the comforts that normally come with celebrity life and thrown into a series of physical and psychological challenges. Their performance will help them earn rewards and avoid elimination, but surviving the competition will require the celebrity and their partner to actually work together. The last team standing will take home a $100,000 grand prize.

The pairing twist could be exactly what gives this version its own identity. Watching celebrities struggle without their usual luxuries is one thing. Watching them do it while a best friend, sibling, parent or other loved one is right there to call them out? That has potential.

Peacock is also keeping this one very much in the Love Island family behind the scenes. The series comes from ITV America, the producer of Love Island USA, with David George, David Eilenberg and Jordana Hochman serving as executive producers. The original international format was created by Lifted Entertainment and is distributed by ITV Studios.

Both new hosts have plenty of history in that world as well. Rausch became a breakout favorite after appearing on Love Island USA, while Higgins first became known to audiences through Love Island UK before eventually becoming a host for Peacock’s Love Island USA: Aftersun and Love Island Games: Aftersun. Their appearances together on The Traitors only expanded their U.S. profiles.

For Higgins, the new hosting job comes during an especially busy stretch. She is also competing on Season 35 of Dancing With the Stars, where she is paired with fellow Traitors alum Mark Ballas.

This won’t actually be America’s first trip into the I’m a Celebrity jungle, either. ABC attempted a U.S. version in 2003, while NBC gave the format another shot in 2009. Neither adaptation returned for a second season. More than 17 years later, Peacock is ready to see whether the third time is the charm.

The streamer certainly has two hosts who already know how to make reality TV interesting, although after what Rob did to Maura on The Traitors, she might want to think twice before trusting him with directions through the jungle.

Get Me Out of Here is expected to premiere on Peacock in 2027. An exact premiere date and celebrity cast have not yet been announced.
