What to Watch Friday, August 28: Dark Matter, Jeopardy! Masters & Mousetrap

Friday is bringing alternate realities, a brand-new Korean thriller and another round of Jeopardy! Masters. The broadcast networks are still relatively quiet as we wait for fall TV to properly wake up, but streaming is doing most of the heavy lifting today.

The biggest return belongs to Apple TV's Dark Matter, which finally begins its second season after a two-year wait. Meanwhile, Netflix has several new international offerings, and ABC has a fresh Jeopardy! Masters in primetime.

Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly return as Dark Matter begins Season 2 on Apple TV. The interesting wrinkle this time is that the first season exhausted the story told in Blake Crouch's original novel, meaning Season 2 is moving into completely new territory created for television. Even viewers who read the book don't have a roadmap for what's coming.
