Tom Hollander Joins ‘The Audacity’ Season 2 as Powerful Tech Billionaire

Tom Hollander is officially entering the world of The Audacity, and Season 1 viewers already know exactly why his character matters.

AMC Global Media announced Tuesday that Hollander has joined The Audacity Season 2 in a recurring role as “Big Tim,” the powerful Cupertino executive who was repeatedly referenced throughout the first season but remained something of a mythical presence.

Season 2 is currently in production in Vancouver and is expected to premiere on AMC and AMC+ in 2027. Hollander’s Big Tim is described as a powerful tech billionaire and the CEO of Cupertino whose polished public image hides a much more ruthless side driven by control and revenge. After spending the first season largely existing through other characters’ conversations, Big Tim stepping directly into the story could seriously shake up the Silicon Valley drama.

“We are absurdly fortunate to have Tom Hollander joining our already terrific cast,” creator, writer and showrunner Jonathan Glatzer said in a statement. “He makes everything he’s in smarter, funnier and more dangerous, often at the same time.”

Hollander joins an already stacked ensemble led by Billy Magnussen, Sarah Goldberg, Zach Galifianakis, Lucy Punch, Simon Helberg, Meaghan Rath and Paul Adelstein. The eight-episode second season will also feature previously announced additions Miriam Shor and Usman Ally, while Jess McLeod has been promoted to series regular.

Shor will recur as Randy Flemming, an FBI agent who apparently has no problem going after the powerful players around her. Ally joins as Byron Zandani, a senior Silicon Valley attorney tasked with navigating increasingly questionable decisions, while McLeod returns as Harper, the pink-haired CTO of the newly formed data-mining company P.I.N.A.T.A.

Created by Glatzer, The Audacity takes viewers inside a heightened version of Silicon Valley filled with billionaires, AI labs, bio-hacked tech bros, elite schools and plenty of people convinced they are changing the world, whether anyone actually asked them to or not.

At the center of the series is Magnussen’s Duncan Park, a data-mining CEO attempting to turn information and influence into even more money and power. Hollander’s arrival as the long-teased Big Tim gives Season 2 another major force capable of disrupting that already messy ecosystem.

The first season of The Audacity is currently streaming on AMC+ and is also available through The AMC Collection on Netflix. Season 2 will premiere in 2027 on AMC and AMC+.
