Tires Renewed for Season 4 at Netflix: Everything We Know

Some Netflix shows get renewed and you think, “Okay, that makes sense.” Then there’s Tires, where the bigger question is how Valley Forge Automotive Center has managed to stay in business this long.

Apparently, Netflix is not asking that question either. The streamer has renewed Shane Gillis’ Tires for Season 4, giving the comedy another trip to the garage. And this is more than a one-season victory lap. The Season 4 order is part of a two-year renewal for the series, meaning Netflix is clearly betting that audiences are not done hanging around with Will, Shane and the rest of the crew.

The timing of the announcement is also pretty telling. Tires Season 3 premiered earlier this month and has already delivered the series’ strongest performance on Netflix’s Top 10 chart. The latest season reached No. 5 globally, proving that the show has managed to turn its very specific brand of workplace dysfunction into a legitimate Netflix hit.

For the uninitiated, Tires centers on Will, played by Steve Gerben, who is trying to keep his family’s struggling auto repair business alive. His biggest headache may be his cousin Shane, played by Gillis, who also happens to work at the shop.

Because apparently family businesses were not stressful enough already.

The series was created by Gillis, Gerben and John McKeever, and the cast also includes Chris O’Connor, Kilah Fox and Stavros Halkias. Thomas Haden Church joined the series as Phil, adding another memorable personality to the Valley Forge crew. Season 3 found Will and Shane dealing with the future of the business and their increasingly strained friendship. The official Season 3 setup promised plenty of trouble as the two looked to their past while trying to figure out what comes next for the shop.

Now we know there will be a Season 4. Netflix’s Tracey Pakosta credited the show’s unapologetic comedy and distinct point of view while pointing to the Season 3 Top 10 performance as evidence that its audience continues to grow. Gillis and McKeever have also expressed their excitement about making more episodes. There is no Season 4 premiere date yet, so we will have to wait to find out exactly what the next disaster at Valley Forge looks like.

One thing is already clear: whatever these people are doing to keep the business running, Netflix is happy with the results. The garage stays open.
