Genoa City is making another trip to Fairmont Crest, and this time, two familiar faces are bringing a whole lot of Winters family history with them.

The Young and the Restless stars Bryton James and Christel Khalil will cross over to CBS's Beyond the Gates as Devon and Lily Winters on Wednesday, November 4. And while daytime crossovers are always a reason to get excited, this one comes with an emotional connection that longtime soap fans will appreciate.

The Winters Family Meets the Duprees

Devon is heading to Fairmont Crest to work with the Articulettes on their new album, bringing his music industry experience into the Dupree family's orbit. Lily will accompany him, and it turns out she's a fan of the group, especially its lead singer, Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie).

The visit will also bring Devon and Lily into contact with Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis), setting the stage for a meaningful conversation about their late father, Neil Winters.

For longtime Y&R fans, Neil remains one of the soap's most important characters. Portrayed by the late Kristoff St. John, Neil was a central figure in Genoa City for decades, and his legacy continues to influence the Winters family. Connecting that history to Beyond the Gates gives the crossover something more substantial than a quick guest appearance. It's an opportunity to celebrate a beloved character while strengthening the ties between the two CBS dramas.

Devon Returns, but Lily Makes Her Debut

While this will be Lily's first appearance on Beyond the Gates, Devon is already familiar with Fairmont Crest. James has previously crossed over to the series, making his upcoming appearance his third.

Khalil's arrival adds another layer to the growing relationship between the two soap worlds. And with the Articulettes recording new music, the crossover offers plenty of possibilities for both family connections and musical drama.

CBS has continued building bridges between its daytime dramas, and fans have responded enthusiastically to seeing established characters interact with the newer residents of Fairmont Crest.

The biggest draw here, however, is the chance to revisit Neil Winters' legacy through the people who knew and loved him. It's a meaningful way to bring the two series together without losing sight of the characters who made The Young and the Restless such a daytime fixture.

Bryton James and Christel Khalil appear on Beyond the Gates Wednesday, November 4, on CBS. Episodes are also available on Paramount+.
