The Bold and the Beautiful Weekly Recap: Steffy Gets Pulled Deeper Into Carter’s Secret

Secrets, forbidden feelings, family interference and plenty of questionable decision-making made for a very soapy week on The Bold and the Beautiful. Steffy found herself getting pulled deeper into Carter’s deception, Finn struggled to understand his wife’s shocking decision, Sheila reconnected with Deacon, and Katie made it very clear that she was not rolling out the welcome mat for her son’s new romance.

Meanwhile, Zende’s growing frustration at Forrester Creations opened the door for Katie to make a move that could have some major consequences.

Carter’s Lie Gets Bigger

The week began with Steffy struggling under the weight of the secret she was keeping. Carter continued pushing forward with his plan involving Daphne, while Steffy became caught between protecting his deception and dealing with the consequences that could come from it.

Carter encouraged Steffy to go along with the idea that she could become the woman who helps him and Daphne have the family they desperately want. That left Steffy with very little room to tell Daphne what was actually happening.

Taylor could tell something was seriously wrong with her daughter and warned Finn that there was much more happening with Steffy than she was willing to reveal. While Steffy tried to keep everything under control, Sheila and Deacon were revisiting their own complicated history. Sheila reminded Deacon of the connection they once shared, particularly after Taylor rejected his marriage proposal. Their renewed closeness created yet another potential problem for Taylor and Deacon because apparently these people did not have enough going on already.

Steffy’s Shocking Confession

Finn knew Steffy was struggling, and his concerns only grew when he turned to Ridge for advice. He asked Ridge to keep an eye on her while he was away at a medical conference because something about Steffy’s behavior simply did not feel right.

Then Steffy finally revealed what she was considering: becoming Carter and Daphne’s surrogate and potentially donating her eggs as well. Finn was stunned by the magnitude of the decision. He could not understand why his wife would suddenly consider putting herself through something so personal and life-changing.

What Finn did not know was that Steffy’s decision was tied to the much larger secret she and Carter were desperately trying to protect. Carter continued encouraging Steffy to move forward with the plan while Daphne remained completely unaware of the truth behind it. Chile, this lie is getting expensive.

Finn Says No

Finn was not prepared to simply accept Steffy’s decision. After hearing her explanation, he pleaded with her not to go through with becoming the surrogate. He understood that Steffy wanted to help Daphne, but he believed the decision was far too personal and consequential to make under these circumstances. His opposition put Steffy in an increasingly difficult position because backing away from the arrangement could expose the secret she and Carter had been working so hard to conceal.

Carter was also feeling the pressure as Daphne continued imagining their future together. She was excited about becoming a mother, while Carter knew the entire situation was being built around a deception. Meanwhile, Taylor confronted Deacon about his renewed connection with Sheila. With Finn now openly against Steffy’s plan and Taylor asking questions, Carter’s carefully constructed arrangement was already starting to look shaky.

Katie Targets Zende

The drama eventually shifted to Logan and Forrester Creations as Katie began thinking about ways to strengthen her new company. Katie and Hope discussed the problems surrounding Forrester, and Zende quickly emerged as someone Katie believed could be valuable to Logan. With Zende already frustrated by the direction of his career and feeling underappreciated, Katie saw an opening.

At Forrester, Zende and R.J. were working together on the new Electra line, but their collaboration quickly became tense. Zende was already irritated by Hope’s departure and increasingly convinced that his talents were not being respected.

When R.J. criticized some of his designs and pushed for changes, Zende took the comments personally. R.J. tried to explain that they were supposed to be working as a team, but by that point, Zende’s frustration had already reached a boiling point.

Katie, meanwhile, faced a completely different battle at home.

Will made it clear that his relationship with Dylan was becoming serious and referred to her as his girlfriend. Katie immediately voiced her disapproval and insisted that she did not believe Dylan was right for the Spencer family. Will was not about to let his mother dictate who he could love. The harder Katie pushed, the more determined he became to defend his relationship.

Zende Reaches His Limit

By Friday, the tension between Zende and R.J. had reached another level. Their work on the Electra line was supposed to be an opportunity for the two designers to collaborate, but Zende increasingly felt as though his voice was being dismissed. With R.J. taking a prominent role in the project and Katie already considering recruiting Zende for Logan, Forrester could be setting itself up to lose one of its designers.

Katie’s problems with Will and Dylan were not disappearing either. Dylan worried about Katie’s reaction to their relationship, but Darcy encouraged her daughter not to allow Katie’s disapproval to determine their future. Will had already made his feelings clear. He was not letting his mother decide whether Dylan belonged in his life.

My Thoughts

I am really liking this Steffy and Carter secret! This story is so good and SO SOAPY! What I especially love is that Carter is the lead in this story. He is not standing around on the sidelines waiting for Steffy to make every decision. Carter is driving the conflict, pushing the situation forward and making choices that keep creating bigger problems.

That is exactly what I want to see from this character. Lawrence Saint-Victor is getting some fantastic material, and I am glad the show is finally giving Carter something substantial to do. Then there is Steffy coming to terms with the possibility of giving up a child she conceived. That is such an emotionally complicated situation for her, and I love that the story is allowing us to actually watch her wrestle with what that means.

Steffy is not simply making a decision and moving on. She has to confront the emotional consequences of what she is considering while simultaneously keeping this enormous secret from Finn. Jacqueline MacInnes Wood is getting the kind of material that allows Steffy to be vulnerable, conflicted and messy, and I am here for it.

And speaking of Jacqueline, she is getting nominated! Lawrence is getting nominated too! I am so happy to see both of them getting this airtime because this storyline is giving them material that deserves to be recognized. Now, WILL SPENCER, you do not know THEE STEPHANIE FORRESTER! She was BEFORE YOUR TIME! 😂

Will may think he understands what his mother is doing, but he is talking about a Forrester family history he did not experience firsthand. That said, I love Katie, but she is NO Stephanie Forrester. At best, Katie is giving me big-sister Brooke energy right now, especially in the way she is handling Will’s love life and her feelings about Melissa Dylan. She reminds me of the way Brooke would treat Amber Moore when it came to Rick. Katie may not have Stephanie’s particular brand of intimidation, but she is giving us a little taste of that family meddling, and I am enjoying every minute of it.

I also absolutely LOVE Katie being all up in Will’s love life and not liking Dylan. There is something deliciously soapy about Katie being completely convinced this girl is not right for her son while Will is basically saying, “Mom, this is MY relationship!” 😂 And let’s talk about Will and Dylan because those two have some damn good chemistry. Will definitely moved fast calling her his girlfriend, but there is clearly something working between Crew Morrow and Sydney Bullock. Their scenes have a natural spark, and I like that Will is not simply folding because his mother disapproves.

Finally, I really enjoyed the drama between Zende and R.J. Personally, I do not think R.J. actually said anything wrong to Zende, but I DO think the way he said it was all wrong. There is a difference between giving constructive criticism and making somebody feel like their work is not good enough. R.J. is still learning, and he is dealing with a very experienced designer in Zende. He needed to approach that situation with a little more awareness of the dynamic.

I also think Deke recognizes exactly what is happening with R.J. He is a newbie who is slightly overwhelmed and needs some help. That does not mean R.J. is not talented, but there is a learning curve when you are dealing with the Forrester fashion world. And I would not be surprised if Zende eventually follows in the footsteps of his mother, Kristen Forrester, and ends up working for another fashion house. Kristen famously worked for Spectra, so there would be something fitting about Zende stepping outside Forrester Creations and establishing himself somewhere else.

Overall, this week gave me exactly what I want from The Bold and the Beautiful: secrets, family interference, romantic conflict, professional rivalries and people making questionable decisions that are absolutely going to cause bigger problems later. The Steffy and Carter story is the standout for me because it feels genuinely SOAPY, and having Carter at the center of the conflict makes it even better. Add Katie meddling in Will’s love life and the growing tension between Zende and R.J., and there is plenty here to keep me watching.

Now give me MORE of this Carter and Steffy mess because I am INVESTED!
