‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Weekly Recap: Steffy’s Pregnancy Leaves Carter Scrambling

The week began with Steffy Forrester Finnegan facing the devastating reality that she was pregnant with Carter Walton’s baby. On Monday, Steffy confirmed to Carter that the baby was his and not Finn’s, leaving both of them stunned by the consequences of their night together.
Steffy knew immediately that keeping the truth hidden was not going to make the situation disappear, especially because she was still married to Finn and loved her family. Carter, however, was terrified of what the truth could do to his marriage with Daphne and Steffy’s marriage to Finn, so he urged her to slow down before confessing anything. While Steffy remained determined to tell Finn, he was elsewhere reassuring Li that his family would always come first.
As the week continued, Steffy’s pregnancy became the center of nearly every major storyline. She wanted to tell Finn the truth, but Carter grew increasingly desperate to stop their affair from being exposed. His solution only made things worse: turn Steffy’s pregnancy into a fake surrogacy arrangement for him and Daphne.
Carter and Daphne desperately want to become parents, but Daphne has been uncomfortable with the idea of using an anonymous surrogate. Carter saw an opportunity in Steffy’s pregnancy and began presenting the idea that Steffy could carry their child instead. The biggest problem is that he started talking to Daphne as though Steffy had already agreed, even though Steffy never actually said yes.
That lie puts Steffy in an impossible position. Not only is she dealing with the fact that she is carrying Carter’s baby, but she now has to navigate a story Carter created without her permission. The more he tries to protect himself, the more complicated the situation becomes.
Meanwhile, Steffy’s marriage to Finn is under enormous pressure, even though he has no idea what is really happening. Finn believes Steffy is still struggling emotionally because of everything that happened in Monaco and continues reassuring her that he loves her and their family. Steffy repeatedly gets close to confessing, but each time she stops short of telling him the full truth.
Taylor is also beginning to realize that something is wrong with her daughter. She notices Steffy’s emotional behavior and encourages her to open up, but Steffy refuses to reveal the pregnancy. Taylor’s growing suspicions could become another threat to the secret, especially if Steffy continues having trouble hiding what she is going through.
Daphne, meanwhile, remains completely unaware of what Carter is actually doing. She wants a baby, but she also does not want Steffy to feel pressured into making such a life-changing decision for her. Because Daphne trusts both Carter and Steffy, she believes Steffy willingly offered to help them become parents.
That makes Carter’s deception even more dangerous. Once Daphne discovers that Steffy never agreed to become her surrogate, Carter will have much more to explain than a misunderstanding. His decision to make choices on Steffy’s behalf has created another lie that could easily lead back to the much bigger secret he is trying to hide.
By the end of the week, nearly every storyline was circling back to Steffy’s pregnancy. Finn still needs to learn the truth, Daphne believes Steffy has agreed to carry a baby for her and Carter, Taylor suspects her daughter is hiding something, and Carter is becoming more desperate to keep everyone from discovering what really happened.
At this point, the biggest question is no longer simply whether Steffy will tell Finn. It is how many relationships could fall apart once the truth finally comes out.
