S.W.A.T. Exiles Renewed for Season 2 Before Shemar Moore’s Spinoff Even Premieres

The television industry usually loves a waiting game, but Shemar Moore said, "Not today." In a move that has us doing a collective double-take, S.W.A.T. Exiles is already moving forward with Season 2 and the plot twist here is that Season 1 hasn't even hit our screens yet.

Series star and executive producer Shemar Moore dropped the bombshell update himself, confirming that cameras will start rolling on the sophomore season in a couple of months. The star power of Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson is alive, well and apparently printing money.

A New Batch of Recruits to Whip Into Shape

The premise of the spin-off breathes fresh life into a familiar world. S.W.A.T. Exiles finds Hondo dragged right out of a forced retirement to command an experimental, last-chance unit. Instead of his seasoned, slick elite squad, he is tasked with mentoring a raw, unpredictable group of young misfits who have been cast out of mainstream law enforcement.

The younger cast bringing this fresh energy includes Lucy Barrett, Adain Bradley, Zyra Gorecki, Freddy Miyares, and Ronen Rubinstein. Don't worry about missing your old favorites, though. Original series veterans Jay Harrington (Deacon), David Lim (Tan), and Patrick St. Esprit (Hicks) are already locked in to make guest appearances, ensuring the DNA of the original hit remains fully intact.
