Southern Charm Season 12 Trailer Brings a Secret Baby Rumor, Messy Hookups and an Ex’s Return

Charleston apparently did not use the offseason to calm down.
Bravo has released the trailer for Southern Charm Season 12, and the new episodes are coming with messy hookups, fractured friendships, an old flame resurfacing and one very serious rumor involving a possible secret child.
The series returns Thursday, November 12 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo, with episodes available to stream the following day on Peacock. Much of last season ended with relationships and friendships sitting somewhere between "it's complicated" and "we definitely need to talk," and judging from this trailer, nobody figured much out while the cameras were gone.
Southern Charm Has a Mystery Baby Situation
The biggest bombshell in the trailer arrives during a group trip to Maui when Whitney Sudler-Smith brings up a rumor that someone in the group may have a secret child.
That is not exactly the kind of conversation you casually bring up between cocktails. New cast member Allie Newman appears to have photographic evidence connected to the claim, immediately turning the rumor into something the group can't simply laugh off. Bravo isn't revealing who is at the center of the mystery yet, which means viewers can expect the question to hang over at least part of the season.
Madison LeCroy, naturally, appears more than ready to investigate. If there is gossip floating around Charleston, Madison has rarely been the person to quietly mind her business.
Austen's Love Life Is Somehow Getting Even Messier
Austen Kroll enters another season with a complicated relationship status, which might be the least surprising development in Southern Charm history.
His friends-with-benefits situation with Salley Carson is still in play, but the trailer suggests Austen has also spent time with newcomer Allie. Then things get even messier when Austen admits that he went home with Molly O'Connell, setting up an explosive confrontation between Molly and Salley.
Molly isn't exactly interested in accepting responsibility for Salley's feelings, either. Her argument is essentially that Salley and Austen aren't exclusive, while Salley very clearly feels there are still lines that shouldn't have been crossed.
Somewhere in Charleston, Austen is once again standing in the middle of multiple women wondering how this possibly happened to him.
Shep and Taylor Ann Green Reconnect
Shep Rose is also revisiting his past after receiving an unexpected message from Taylor Ann Green.
The former couple reconnects during the season, and their reunion immediately has the rest of the group questioning what Shep actually wants. Craig Conover appears particularly skeptical, pointing out the contradiction between Shep talking about a future with Taylor while still wanting the freedom to pursue other women. Whether the reunion becomes something romantic again remains to be seen, but Taylor's return to Shep's orbit should be enough to reopen several old conversations the group probably thought were finally finished.
Meet Southern Charm Newcomer Allie Newman
Allie Newman enters Season 12 through Venita Aspen, but she wastes absolutely no time getting tangled into the group's existing relationships.
Beyond her connection to the mysterious baby rumor, Allie has history with Austen and begins exploring something with Whitner Slagsvol. That gets complicated when Whitner also appears interested in Venita, leaving Allie wondering exactly where she stands. For someone entering an established reality cast, Allie seems to have understood the assignment immediately. By the time this trailer is finished, she has connections to multiple cast members and at least a couple of potential fights waiting for her.
Craig and Austen Try to Repair Their Friendship
Season 11 left Craig and Austen's longtime friendship badly damaged, but the new episodes will see them cautiously attempting to find their way back.
Craig also has plenty happening away from Austen. He reveals that he has been working on a children's book about bullying, while another scene shows him getting into an unusually heated argument with Madison.
Madison, meanwhile, enters the season balancing business and life as a mom of two, although motherhood clearly hasn't taken away her ability to jump directly into Charleston's latest mess when necessary.
Venita, Molly, Rodrigo and the rest of the group also have their own relationship problems unfolding, with Rodrigo once again appearing to be one of the few people capable of keeping everyone in the same room.
Southern Charm Season 12 Looks Properly Messy
After 11 seasons, finding new ways to make this group uncomfortable with one another should theoretically be difficult. Yet somehow we have arrived at a season involving a mystery baby, overlapping hookups, an ex returning and multiple love triangles before the premiere has even aired. So, yes, Southern Charm appears to be doing just fine.
Season 12 premieres Thursday, November 12 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo, with new episodes streaming Fridays on Peacock.
