Reasonable Doubt Season 4 Trailer Reveals Jax’s Fate After Shocking Cliffhanger

Reasonable Doubt is wasting absolutely no time answering one of the biggest questions left hanging after Season 3. The official Season 4 trailer has arrived, and Jax Stewart is once again dealing with trouble inside and outside of the courtroom although this time, surviving long enough to get back to work might be the first order of business.

The new season picks up after the shooting at The Stewart Firm that ended Season 3 on a major cliffhanger. Monica pulled the trigger during her confrontation with Jax and the team, but viewers were left wondering who had actually been hit. Well, the trailer has officially provided that answer: Jax was shot, and things are looking very serious as she fights for her life in the hospital.

Of course, anyone who knows Jax knows it will take a whole lot more than this to keep her down permanently. While her family deals with the aftermath of the attack, The Stewart Firm is also facing a crisis of its own. Jax's absence leaves the newly formed firm vulnerable at exactly the wrong time, with Corey Cash stepping in while everything around them threatens to fall apart.

And chile, because apparently nearly dying wasn't enough stress, there is already another messy client waiting in the wings.

Season 4 introduces Durrell “Tank” Babbs as Eric Cropper, a wealthy R&B artist and longtime Jax client who becomes the center of a rapidly escalating media nightmare. According to Hulu, the case puts The Stewart Firm into a high-stakes fight where every decision could determine whether the business survives or completely collapses.

Babbs is one of several additions joining the show this season. Meagan Good comes aboard as Regina Harris, while La La Anthony plays Eric's first wife, Melina Cropper. Rutina Wesley joins as entertainment journalist Desiree Grant, Taylor Polidore Williams plays Eric's second wife, Brooke Cropper, DeVaughn Nixon appears as Eric's younger brother and A&R manager Tyger Cropper, and Alexxis Lemire plays singer Layla Love.

Emayatzy Corinealdi returns as Jax alongside McKinley Freeman, Tim Jo and Angela Grovey. Morris Chestnut, Joseph Sikora and Brandee Evans are also returning in recurring roles, so there are plenty of familiar faces mixed into all the new drama headed Jax's way.

The official Season 4 synopsis promises that the attack will leave Jax's family and her new firm shaken while grief, pressure and the Eric Cropper situation continue building. The central question appears to be whether everyone can rebuild after what happened or whether trying to move forward before they're ready will cost them even more. And considering Reasonable Doubt has never met a personal problem it couldn't somehow make collide with a legal one, something tells us Jax's recovery is only the beginning.

Reasonable Doubt Season 4 premieres Tuesday, October 6, with three episodes on Disney+ and Hulu. New episodes will then debut every Tuesday through November 24.
