‘Reacher’ Renewed for Season 6 at Prime Video — Jack Reacher Isn’t Going Anywhere

Jack Reacher might travel light, but Prime Video has no intention of letting him walk away anytime soon.

Reacher has officially been renewed for Season 6, with Prime Video handing the Alan Ritchson-led hit another early renewal before Season 5 has even made it to our screens. The news comes just days after Season 4 wrapped its run, and at this point, Amazon clearly knows what it has on its hands. Reacher keeps showing up, beating people up and pulling in viewers, so why mess with a formula that continues to work?

The numbers certainly make the decision easy to understand. According to Prime Video, Season 4 reached 66 million viewers worldwide during its first 28 days, surpassing Season 3 and ranking among the five most-watched seasons of any Prime Video original series. Amazon also says the series has now reached more than 200 million viewers globally since its 2022 debut. Yeah, Reacher isn't packing that toothbrush and disappearing anytime soon.

Season 6 is still a ways off, especially since Season 5 is currently in the works, but Prime Video has not revealed which of Lee Child's novels will serve as the inspiration for the newly ordered season. The series has jumped around the book collection instead of following the novels in publication order, meaning there are still plenty of Reacher adventures available for the television adaptation to tackle.

Before we get there, Season 5 will adapt Make Me, the 20th novel in Child's Jack Reacher series. The story finds Reacher arriving in the mysterious town of Mother's Rest, where he joins private investigator Michelle Chang in a search for a missing person that leads them into something much bigger and far more dangerous. Alan Ritchson will, of course, return as Reacher, while new additions include Amanda Ip as Michelle Chang, Jay Baruchel as Chief Buck Bauer, Ciara Bravo as Eunice and Kevin Durand as Nokes.

The renewal also continues Prime Video's expansion of the larger Reacher universe. Maria Sten's Frances Neagley already stepped into the spotlight with her own spinoff, while the flagship series continues building toward another two seasons. What began in 2022 as one very large man walking into Margrave has quietly turned into one of Prime Video's biggest franchises.

And after four seasons, Reacher has shown that changing locations, mysteries and supporting casts each season can actually work in its favor. Ritchson remains the constant at the center of it all, while each new story gives the series an opportunity to reset without starting over. With Seasons 5 and 6 now officially on the books, Jack Reacher has plenty more buses to catch and probably quite a few more people to punch along the way.

All four seasons of Reacher are streaming on Prime Video. A premiere date for Season 5 has not yet been announced.
