Prime Video has officially unveiled the first trailer for Ride or Die, its upcoming action-comedy series starring Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham, and the new footage promises plenty of laughs, danger, and one very unexpected friendship reveal.

Along with the trailer release, Prime Video confirmed that all eight episodes of the series will premiere on July 15, exclusively on the streaming service in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

Created by Tessa Coates, Ride or Die follows best friends Debbie Claybourne (Spencer) and Judith Burton (Waddingham), two women who believe they know everything about each other. That assumption quickly falls apart when Debbie discovers that Judith has been hiding a life-changing secret: she's an international assassin.

According to the official synopsis, a mysterious figure from Judith's past resurfaces after a mission goes terribly wrong, forcing the two friends to flee across Europe. As law enforcement, trained assassins, and dangerous criminals close in, Debbie and Judith find themselves in a race against time while navigating a friendship that suddenly looks very different than it did before.

The newly released trailer offers viewers their first glimpse at the action-packed adventure, showcasing explosive chase sequences, international locations, and the comedic chemistry between Spencer and Waddingham. The pairing alone is enough to get our attention, but the series appears to be leaning heavily into the contrast between Debbie's ordinary life and Judith's highly dangerous profession.

In addition to Spencer and Waddingham, Ride or Die features an impressive supporting cast that includes Ed Skrein as Billy, Calam Lynch as Sam, Savannah Steyn as Queenie, Jamie Parker as David, Jacky Ido as Jacques, Sylvia Hoeks as Ana, and Bill Nighy as The Director.

Behind the scenes, the series comes from Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios, with Andy and Barbara Muschietti's Double Dream and Octavia Spencer's Orit Entertainment also producing. Coates serves as creator and executive producer alongside showrunner Matt Miller and director Peyton Reed, who also executive produces.

Action-comedy has become one of television's most popular genres in recent years, but Ride or Die appears ready to carve out its own lane by putting friendship at the center of the story. If the trailer is any indication, viewers can expect a mix of high-stakes action, sharp humor, and plenty of unexpected twists when the series arrives this summer.

Ride or Die premieres July 15 on Prime Video.
