Nikki Glaser Returns to Host the 2027 Golden Globes as CBS Locks in the Comedian for a Third Year

The Golden Globe Awards are doubling down on a host who knows how to keep Hollywood laughing and occasionally squirming. Nikki Glaser will officially return to emcee the 84th Annual Golden Globes, airing live Sunday, January 10, 2027 on CBS and streaming on Paramount+ in the United States. After two well-received turns leading the ceremony, the sharp-tongued comedian is back for a third round of roasting the industry while celebrating the year’s biggest achievements in film, television, and podcasting.

For an awards show that has spent the past several years rebuilding its reputation and trying to keep viewers engaged, consistency helps. Glaser has proven to be a reliable ringmaster for the chaos that defines the Globes balancing the glitzy, champagne-fueled party atmosphere with the kind of fearless jokes that make celebrities laugh… and occasionally glance nervously at the teleprompter.

Glaser first made history as the first woman to host the Golden Globes solo, and her opening monologues in 2025 and 2026 quickly became one of the ceremony’s most talked-about moments. Known for her brutally honest stand-up style, the comedian leaned into the Globes’ reputation as Hollywood’s most relaxed awards show, delivering punchlines that felt just edgy enough to trend online without completely derailing the evening.

The Golden Globes organization seems more than happy to keep that momentum going. Golden Globes President Helen Hoehne praised Glaser’s return, highlighting her “comedic precision” and ability to command a room full of A-listers. In other words, she can roast the audience and still keep the party going no small feat when that audience includes half of Hollywood.

Glaser, naturally, responded with a joke. “I’m thrilled to host the Golden Globes for a third time,” she said, adding that the achievement finally puts her on equal footing with her sister who has three kids in the eyes of their parents and, apparently, the Lord.

The hosting gig caps off a major stretch for the comedian. Following a breakout year that included recognition from The New York Times and a spot on TIME’s 100 most influential list, Glaser has continued to expand her presence across entertainment. She recently hosted Saturday Night Live, continues to tour internationally, and is building a growing slate of film and TV projects including an upcoming Netflix comedy with Kim Kardashian directed by Eva Longoria.

Before the 2027 Golden Globes arrive, fans will also see more of Glaser on the stand-up stage. Her next special, “Good Girl,” premieres April 24, 2026 on Hulu.

As for the Globes themselves, the ceremony remains one of the biggest awards events of the year, reaching audiences in more than 185 countries. Last year’s combined broadcasts including red carpet coverage and the Golden Eve special pulled in 21.77 million viewers, a sign that the show’s recent revival is resonating.

With Glaser back at the podium, the 2027 ceremony is shaping up to deliver exactly what the Golden Globes do best: star power, unpredictable moments, and a host who isn’t afraid to remind Hollywood that yes, the internet is absolutely watching. And if the past two years are any indication, the jokes will land just as sharply as the gowns and probably age better, too.
