Marshals Season 2 Teaser Reveals Kayce Dutton’s Next Deadly Mission

"No days off for the Dutton family." CBS and Paramount+ decided to drop the highly anticipated Marshals season 2 teaser. Released exclusively via PEOPLE Magazine, the first-look footage confirms our favorite Yellowstone spinoff is officially galloping back to our screens in Fall 2026.

If you thought Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) might get a single moment of peace after the events of last season, the new promo immediately corrects that delusion.

"That's the Dutton Way": Kayce Packs a Punch

The teaser opens in the most dramatic way possible, finding Kayce held at gunpoint inside a remote cabin by a suit-wearing intruder. When the mysterious gunman remarks that he has "heard stories about the Duttons," Kayce delivers a line so beautifully cold it deserves its own belt buckle: "The fact that you’re doing this tells me you haven’t heard them all."

Naturally, a fistfight ensues, because it wouldn't be a Sheridan show if someone didn't get punched in the face before the opening credits. The teaser leans heavily into the violence inherent to the ranching dynasty. We also get an ominous voiceover from Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham), who warns that nobody escapes death and violence unscathed. Kayce’s response? "That's the Dutton way." Yes, sir, it certainly is.

Who is Safe—and Who is Missing?

The footage answers a few massive casting questions that had fans stressing on the internet all hiatus. First up, Andrea Cruz (Ash Santos) is back. After she accepted that fancy Washington D.C. gig at the end of Season 1, we were fully prepared to mourn her absence, only to see her pop up in full uniform in the very first teaser. Praise be. We also catch quick glimpses of Miles (Tatanka Means) and Rainwater looking as stoic as ever.

However, the editors knew exactly what they were doing by withholding any footage of Cal (Logan Marshall-Green) and Belle (Arielle Kebbel). Last season ended on a brutal ambush cliffhanger that left both of their fates completely up in the air. While behind-the-scenes reports suggest the actors are returning to the set, the trailer intentionally plays coy about whether they actually survive the aftermath.

More Horsepower and More Episodes

Visually, the teaser promises plenty of the cinematic flair that made the first season a broadcast hit. We see Kayce navigating treacherous terrains on horseback, heavy gunfire, and an intense sequence where he shoots at a moving vehicle until it flips over. It is fast, loud, and exactly what broadcast audiences want on a Sunday night.

The biggest win for fans, though, is the sheer scale of the upcoming season. Luke Grimes recently revealed that Season 2 will be significantly longer than its 13-episode predecessor, expanding into a massive 18 to 20-episode run. While an exact calendar date is still under wraps, the "Fall 2026" stamp means we have a lengthy, action-packed ride ahead of us.

What did you think of the new footage? Are you relieved to see Andrea back, or are you too busy stressing over Cal and Belle's absence? Drop your theories in the comments below!
