Mark goes to Art’s tailor shop and confesses that he did something terrible. He tells Art he killed someone and insists he had no choice because the person was possessed and the infection would have spread. He admits he almost did it again without thinking and wanted to kill another man, only stopping because of Oliver. Believing he’s crossed a line, Mark hands over his costume and says he doesn’t deserve to wear it anymore. Art pushes back, telling him that the guilt eating at him proves he isn’t like his father. He reveals he even made Mark a new suit in his original colors, but Mark insists nothing is going to change and gives it back. When Eve calls with a job, Mark reluctantly agrees.
In the Under Realm, Domina declares that the Vile will not be freed and that their reign is over. She rallies her people, claiming they have been forged in flame and must fight with everything they have against Volcanikka. Damien watches, suggesting they should have waited and attempted a conjuring spell, but Domina accuses him of cowardice and charges into battle. Volcanikka boasts that the magmanites are endless and that her power rises from the deepest chasms. The fight is brutal and relentless. Damien manages to wound her, but she quickly regenerates, grabs him by the throat, and drives her hand into his chest, seemingly killing him. Domina intervenes, forcing Volcanikka to drop him, and Damien recovers long enough to strike again. It isn’t enough. Volcanikka ultimately kills Domina and declares herself the new Great Beast, sending a message for Satan. Damien retreats with the bodies of his fallen allies.
Back with Satan and Clan Darkblood, Damien argues that repeating the same strategy is futile and proposes another plan. He attempts a spell meant to summon Omni-Man but instead brings Invincible into the Under Realm. Mark is stunned, having just been helping Riley fight Ka-Hor, who was searching for a suitable host. The possession storyline is abruptly left behind as Mark finds himself in Hell.
Damien introduces Invincible to Satan, and Mark initially assumes he’s there to fight him. Damien stops him and instead shows him the Under Realm, explaining the ongoing power struggle between Satan and Volcanikka. He reveals that humanity’s existence is tied to Satan’s past actions and that the current world is the sixth age, with previous ages lost to history. The Vile, originating from the fourth age, once ruled both the surface and the depths in a time of constant violence. They cannot be killed and were ultimately imprisoned in the Under Realm through the sacrifice of demons led by Satan. Mark is skeptical but listens as Damien explains that Volcanikka plans to release the Vile, which would destroy the world above.
Mark refuses to help at first, insisting he won’t hurt anyone, but Satan asks him to retrieve his molten crown from the bottomless pit, where Volcanikka cast it. No demon can retrieve it due to the dangers below, which is why Damien originally sought Omni-Man. Mark reveals his father may already be dead, sentenced by the Viltrumites, and questions why Damien thought Omni-Man would help at all. Damien suggests even a man like Omni-Man might act in his own interests.
They descend into the pit, where Damien explains it isn’t truly bottomless but is home to a powerful creature. Along the way, Mark questions him about Heaven and morality, learning there is no higher force judging good or evil. Damien reflects on his past work with Omni-Man, noting how different Mark is in comparison. At the bottom, they encounter Cerberus, who had been banished there after failing to stop Volcanikka. Mark manages to outmaneuver the creature, retrieve the crown, and save Damien, carrying him back to the surface of the Under Realm.
With the crown restored, Satan regains his strength. Damien bows, but Mark refuses. Damien tries to show Mark that choosing to do good is difficult but meaningful, urging him to help stop Volcanikka. As the battle resumes, Volcanikka unleashes the Vile and prepares to bring destruction to the surface world. Mark clears a path for Satan, ultimately decapitating Volcanikka before she can kill Damien, but her regenerative abilities make the victory short-lived. Realizing she cannot win outright, she retreats into the rock, and her forces withdraw. The Vile begin to rise, but Satan orders his demons to contain them, maintaining balance between the realms.
Afterward, Domina recovers, and Damien prepares to send Mark home. Satan and Domina decide it’s also time for Damien to return to the surface. Before leaving, Satan thanks Mark and acknowledges his strength, surprised to learn he is part Viltrumite.
Back on Earth, William learns that Eve is pregnant and reacts with excitement, imagining a powerful and beautiful baby. Eve, however, is overwhelmed and unsure she wants a child, admitting she isn’t ready. William reassures her that he will support her no matter what and encourages her to talk to Mark.
Mark returns to Art and accepts the new suit, which reflects his original colors. At home, Debbie tells Mark and Oliver that she and Paul are selling the family house to move in together. Oliver is unimpressed, calling Paul boring but nice, while Mark struggles with the timing but ultimately supports his mother’s decision. Seeking space, he retreats to the roof, where Eve joins him. Mark quietly shares that Hell is real and admits he isn’t okay, though he hopes he’s getting there. Eve is about to tell him about the pregnancy when they are interrupted by Omni-Man and Allen, who arrive with a warning that a war is coming.
Meanwhile, Damien reaches the surface and hears from Satan that Volcanikka now intends to wage war above ground. Satan himself plans to rise and see the sun, confirming Damien’s fears that the conflict is far from over.
This episode takes a more measured approach, reintroducing the Under Realm while focusing on its lore and power dynamics. Much of the runtime follows Damien guiding Mark through this world and restoring Satan’s strength, leading to a temporary victory over Volcanikka and the Vile. At the same time, multiple storylines on the surface continue to build, including Eve’s pregnancy, Debbie’s major life decision, and the looming Viltrumite conflict. Riley’s possession by Ka-Hor is notably left unresolved, despite being the catalyst for Mark’s involvement at the start.
While it feels like a transitional episode, it sets up several major conflicts moving forward. The final moments, with multiple threats converging at once, create strong anticipation for what comes next. I liked the episode and gave it 4.7 out of 5 stars.
