General Hospital: Drew Frames Nina for Jack Brennan’s Disappearance

Just when it seemed Drew couldn’t possibly make the Jack Brennan situation messier, he found a way. On the September 3 episode of General Hospital, Drew took his revenge against Nina to an entirely different level by planting evidence that could connect her directly to Brennan’s disappearance.

Drew broke into Nina’s car with a very specific plan in mind. A flashback revealed that he had secretly taken Brennan’s wallet before he and Ava disposed of the WSB chief’s body, and Drew decided Nina was the perfect person to take the fall. He planted the wallet underneath the seat of her car, potentially giving investigators a very convenient piece of evidence if they begin looking into Brennan’s whereabouts.

As for why Drew chose Nina, General Hospital made that pretty clear. Before carrying out his plan, he remembered Nina pushing his wheelchair into the lake. Apparently, Drew isn't the forgive-and-forget type, not that anyone in Port Charles should be surprised by that at this point. Instead of simply getting even, however, Drew has escalated their feud by potentially implicating Nina in the disappearance of a WSB station chief.

The timing couldn't be worse for Nina because questions about Brennan are already being asked. Josslyn reported him missing to the WSB and expressed her belief that foul play could be involved. Carly and Valentin are also trying to understand why Brennan suddenly vanished, meaning it may only be a matter of time before investigators start digging deeper into his final movements.

Viewers, of course, know Brennan isn't off somewhere carrying out another secret WSB operation. Drew and Ava discovered him dead and ultimately disposed of his body near the Quartermaine crypt. Ava is already tied to the cover-up, but Drew planting Brennan's wallet creates another dangerous variable that neither of them may be able to control.

That's where Drew may have gotten a little too clever for his own good. Planting evidence could successfully steer suspicion toward Nina, but it also creates a physical connection to Brennan that investigators can potentially trace. If anyone figures out how that wallet actually ended up inside Nina's car, Drew's attempt to protect himself could become the very thing that exposes him.

Nina may have pushed Drew into a lake, but framing her for something connected to Brennan's death is an entirely different level of revenge. Drew seems pretty pleased with himself for now, but in Port Charles, elaborate cover-ups have a habit of unraveling at the worst possible moment.

And Drew just added another loose thread.
