‘General Hospital’ Alum Tajh Bellow Temporarily Takes Over as Theo on ‘Days of Our Lives’

Salem is getting a familiar soap face for one day only, and daytime fans are definitely going to recognize him.

Former General Hospital star Tajh Bellow is temporarily stepping into the role of Theo Carver on Days of Our Lives, filling in for

Tyler Joseph Andrews for a single episode airing Tuesday, October 6 on Peacock. Andrews was unavailable when the episode was filmed, leading to the brief recast rather than any permanent change behind the scenes.

Soap fans know Bellow best from his years as TJ Ashford on General Hospital, where he became a major part of the Port Charles canvas. His move to Salem may be brief, but it still gives viewers the fun kind of soap crossover moment daytime audiences love, especially when an actor associated so strongly with one show suddenly pops up on another.

Bellow’s Theo will share scenes with Gabi Hernandez during the episode, giving him something substantial to do during his short stay. Still, before anyone starts wondering whether Days is making another long-term switch with Theo, this is strictly a temporary situation. Tyler Joseph Andrews will continue in the role going forward.

Because Days of Our Lives films so far in advance, short-term recasts like this can happen when scheduling conflicts come up. In this case, it gives the show a chance to bring in a recognizable actor who already knows the pace and demands of daytime television, which should make the transition feel a little smoother for viewers.

And honestly, this is exactly the kind of casting news soap fans eat up. Going from TJ Ashford on General Hospital to Theo Carver on Days of Our Lives may only last one episode, but it is still enough to get people talking before the episode even streams.

Bellow’s temporary appearance also adds another interesting connection between the current crop of daytime dramas, where actors moving from one soap to another continues to be part of the fun. Whether fans know him from General Hospital or are seeing him for the first time in Salem, his one-day stint should make the October 6 episode worth watching.

Fans can catch Tajh Bellow’s temporary turn as Theo Carver when Days of Our Lives streams Tuesday, October 6 on Peacock.
