Opening the episode with Annabeth having a vision of Marie on the ground with blood dropping on her face. She goes to look for her in Jordan’s room and she’s gone. Annabeth starts to explain her vision/dream to Jordan, Sam, and Emma.
Cate and Marie are arguing about how to move onto the next step of their mission. Cate pleads for Marie to help “fix” her and regain her powers. Cate admits that she has realized the error in her ways and Marie is not buying it at all. I really enjoyed the dynamic in all of this, and don’t see it all that often. I think it’s going to be very interesting to see what happens with Cate potentially regaining her powers and Marie’s strengthening. Speaking of unlikely pairs, which seems to be the theme of this season; we see Annabeth and Jordan connecting on their drive to find Marie. They discuss their powers and how they discovered them.
It was a really beautiful scene and I really hope Annabeth sticks around. She asks Jordan if Marie and them are together and Jordan says they “thought they were.” Which absolutely broke my heart. They’re scared of her abandoning them again and this did not help that at all. On top of the already new information with Marie’s powers, they feel very shut out and worried.
Cipher and who we presume to be Thomas Godolkin are in the confinement that Cipher is holding him hostage in. Meanwhile, Cate, Marie, and Polarity are connecting about what their next move should be and how to take down Cipher and get to Godolkin. Polarity begins to have a seizure and Marie is able to stop it and heal him completely. This is crazy to see because she did save Annabeth, but we have never seen it go this far before. And it has an effect on Cate, I’m wondering if any supe within range of her would feel the impacts of her pushing herself to the limit.
Sam and Enma are back at the God U campus and they’re trying to figure out where Marie is. She is able to get Greg to find her and everyone is trying to look for her. Emma, Annabeth, Jordan, and Sam show up at the same time to stop Marie. We find out that Annabeth knew what was going to happen to their parents and she wasn’t able to stop it, now she wants to stop it from happening again with Marie. We finally see some connecting between them and it was nice to see some more of that and less of the angst (even if it was understandable.)
Jordan tries to stop Marie after Annabeth’s speech and Marie says that she can’t do that and she has to save them and stop Cipher. When Jordan tries to stop her, she uses her powers and lifts them off the ground and does the same with the rest of the crew. I am so nervous to see where the powers are going to take her. I know that she will always stay true to who she is, but she is becoming something that she has never seen or been before.
Polarity goes to stop Cipher and it doesn’t work and Jordan, Greg, and Sam show up to stand guard and make sure Cipher can’t leave the room. As he figures out what Polarity is doing and how he’s able to stop him, he begins to use Jordan, Sam, and Greg as puppets to beat Polarity up.
Marie saves Thomas and brings him back to full health. Polarity realizes just as he’s about to kill “Cipher” that Cipher was never real and just Thomas Godolkin using him as a meat puppet. Now that he’s back to life, what is he going to do? Who is he going after? This was such a good build-up and now there’s only one episode left. I’m excited to see where things go in the Season Finale, but I’m going to hate to see this season end. I would give this episode a 5/5 rating!
