First Look at Shrinking Season 3 on Apple TV+ Promises More Chaos, Catharsis, and Harrison Ford’s Grumpy Charm

Two men sit at a table working on a puzzle. The room has a warm ambiance with framed art, lamps, and decor. One man smiles, the other looks thoughtful.

Apple TV+ has dropped the first look at Shrinking season 3 and it appears therapy is still wildly off the rails — just the way we like it. The critically acclaimed comedy series, created by Bill Lawrence, Brett Goldstein, and Jason Segel, returns with an 11-episode third season set to premiere on Wednesday January 28 2026 with a one-hour episode. New episodes will follow weekly every Wednesday until April 8. Yes, that means more midweek existential breakdowns, courtesy of your favorite ethically-questionable therapist.

Season 3 continues the journey of Jimmy Laird, played with lovable dysfunction by Segel, who is still recovering from the loss of his wife while sabotaging his own career by telling clients the brutal truth. The show has always thrived on that balance of emotional gut punches and laugh-out-loud absurdity, and from this early look, it’s clear the team is doubling down.

Returning alongside Segel are Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell, and Ted McGinley.

The always-watchable Harrison Ford is back as Paul, who is still the emotionally unavailable dad-figure we never knew we needed. Also returning are fan-favorite guest stars like Brett Goldstein, Wendie Malick, Cobie Smulders, and Damon Wayans Jr. But the big casting news this season? New additions Jeff Daniels and Michael J. Fox. If that doesn't scream chaos and prestige in equal measure, nothing does.

Produced by Warner Bros. Television and Doozer Productions, Shrinking has become one of Apple TV+’s standout comedies alongside Ted Lasso. While Ted wrapped up with a hopeful bow, Shrinking is still knee-deep in emotional baggage — and we're better for it.

With its signature mix of unfiltered therapy sessions, dysfunctional friendships, and genuine heart, Shrinking season 3 is shaping up to be another cathartic ride. Clear your Wednesday nights. Your therapist might not approve, but your streaming queue will thank you.

Stay tuned to The TV Cave for weekly episode recaps, breakdowns, and interviews once the season kicks off.
