The game is afoot once again, and by "the game," we mean Millie Bobby Brown running around in Victorian clothing while staring directly into our souls. Netflix just dropped the first teaser trailer for Enola Holmes 3, and it looks like the youngest Holmes sibling is about to face her biggest headache yet. If you thought dealing with high-society matchmaking was tough, try finding a missing world-famous detective.

Here is everything we know from the action-packed Enola Holmes 3 teaser, from shocking plot twists to the official release date.

The Plot Twist: Where in the World is Sherlock?

The teaser starts out like a standard period romance. Lord Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge) finally gets down on one knee to propose to Enola. It is sweet, it is fluffy and it lasts for about five seconds before the rug gets pulled out from under us.

Instead of wedding planning, Enola gets hit with a massive bombshell: her big brother Sherlock (Henry Cavill) has been kidnapped. The happy engagement bubble bursts instantly, sending our favorite teenage sleuth into full rescue mode.

This is not just another trip through the foggy, muddy streets of London. The teaser shows Enola trading her usual magnifying glass for a shotgun, which she fires while wearing a wedding dress. The search for Sherlock takes the cast out of England and straight into Malta. The sunny, rocky backdrop offers a massive visual change for the franchise. It seems the risks are much higher this time around, trading cozy library deductions for international danger.

Thankfully, the main players are all back on the board. Alongside Brown, Cavill, and Partridge, Helena Bonham Carter returns as the eccentric Holmes matriarch. We also get glimpses of Himesh Patel as Dr. John Watson and Sharon Duncan-Brewster as the villainous Moriarty. With Moriarty on the loose and Sherlock gone, Watson and Enola will have to figure out how to work together without driving each other crazy.

If the teaser feels a bit different, that is because there is a new director in charge. Philip Barantini takes over the director's chair from Harry Bradbeer. This change brings a slightly darker, faster tone to the mystery. The movie has earned a PG-13 rating for violence, proving Enola is growing up. Fortunately, the film sits at a tight 1 hour and 45 minutes, making it shorter than the previous films.

Mark your calendars for July 1, 2026. The teaser promises a fun, fast-paced ride that moves the franchise in a fresh direction. What did you think of the new trailer? Do you think Moriarty is behind the kidnapping, or is a new villain pulling the strings?
