Friends laugh at a party in a cozy living room with balloons, a snack table, and a blindfolded woman on the sofa.

Salem has never been a place where family secrets stay buried, but this week on Days of Our Lives, the past came knocking with a vengeance. Between Johnny DiMera turning against his father, the Kiriakis family resorting to some questionable real estate tactics, and Marlena Evans confronting a potentially devastating revelation, there was plenty of drama to go around.

Fortunately, the week wasn't all heartbreak and betrayal. Chanel reached an emotional milestone in her recovery, Roman and Kate shared a romantic moment, and Maggie reminded everyone that she wasn't about to surrender the family mansion without a fight.

Johnny Makes a Decision That Could Destroy EJ

Johnny DiMera finally decided he'd had enough of protecting EJ's questionable behavior. With the DiMera Pharmaceuticals scandal threatening to bring down the company, Johnny provided Belle Black and Jada Hunter with evidence of wrongdoing, putting his own father directly in the authorities' sights.

It wasn't an easy decision. Johnny still loves EJ, but there's a difference between supporting family and helping them escape accountability. Chanel stood beside her husband as he made his choice, even knowing it could create lasting damage within the DiMera family. Meanwhile, Theo Carver also expressed an interest in exposing EJ's actions, giving Gabi Hernandez another potential ally.

EJ had additional problems involving Rita Lesley and Dominic Marino. He pressed Rita for answers about Dominic's connection to the DiMeras, but her reluctance to share information only fueled his suspicions. By Thursday, Jada was questioning EJ about contaminated Coriseal, and the evidence Johnny had provided was making his situation increasingly difficult.

Maggie and Kate Turn the Kiriakis Mansion Into a Disaster Zone

Losing the Kiriakis mansion was never going to sit well with Maggie, especially after everything the family had already sacrificed to save Titan. With Dominic Marino preparing to purchase the property, Kate helped Maggie organize a plan to make the mansion look like a potential buyer's worst nightmare.

Fake mold, plumbing problems, vermin, and electrical hazards became part of the family's carefully staged disaster. Xander, Philip, Brady, and Sarah joined the effort, although Sarah had understandable concerns about the legality of the whole operation. When you're trying to save the family home, Salem's idea of acceptable behavior can get a little creative.

Roman also surprised Kate by getting involved. His concerns about Dominic's possible connection to Stefano gave him a reason to participate, but his real motivation was more personal. When Roman admitted he was doing it for Kate, the two shared a kiss, bringing a little romance into an otherwise outrageous scheme.

Elsewhere, Philip resisted an invitation to a high-stakes poker game, while Sarah and Xander shared a meaningful conversation about their family. Sarah admitted she wanted to see their family together again, especially with Victoria asking when she could live with her father.

Joy Moves In, and Rachel Faces a Medical Emergency

Joy Curtis found herself needing somewhere to stay after leaving the hospital, and Alex Kiriakis became the answer to her housing problem. Joy requested a room in the home Alex shares with Stephanie, creating an arrangement Stephanie wasn't exactly thrilled about.

Although Stephanie eventually agreed, the situation already had trouble written all over it. Sarah and Tate also threatened to complicate Joy's plans, leaving her struggling to keep her circumstances under control.

Meanwhile, Brady faced a frightening situation when Rachel's stomachache turned out to be appendicitis. Rachel required emergency surgery and desperately wanted her mother, Kristen, during the ordeal. Brady had to put aside the adults' complicated history and focus on what his daughter needed.

Leo Stark also landed in trouble after an investigation involving counterfeit Gabi Chic merchandise led to his arrest. Shawn Brady took him into custody, although Shawn did manage to find a happier moment during the week through his growing connection with Jada.

Marlena Faces a Horrifying Possibility

The week's most unsettling revelation belonged to Marlena Evans, who finally told Belle about a birth certificate identifying her as Dominic Marino's mother and Stefano DiMera as his father.

Marlena was horrified. She insisted she had never been intimate with Stefano and struggled to understand how the information could possibly be true. Given Stefano's history of controlling and tormenting her, she feared he might have done something to her while she was in a coma.

Belle promised they would seek DNA confirmation once Dominic arrived, recognizing that a birth certificate alone couldn't prove such a disturbing claim. For now, Marlena wanted the information kept private, even as the possibility threatened to reopen some of her most painful memories.

The mystery deepened when Dante arrived in Salem with a message connected to Dominic, surprising Sydney DiMera. With questions already surrounding Dominic's identity and his interest in the Kiriakis mansion, the DiMera family may be facing a revelation none of them is prepared to handle.

Chanel Celebrates a Major Victory

Amid the scandals and secrets, Chanel experienced one of the week's most uplifting moments when she completed chemotherapy and rang the hospital's victory bell. Johnny stood beside his wife as she celebrated with loved ones, marking a milestone after an incredibly difficult chapter. Still, Chanel understood that their future would require more than surviving her medical ordeal.

She urged Johnny to put their family first as he navigated the consequences of exposing EJ. Johnny may love his father, but Chanel wants them to build a life that isn't constantly threatened by the DiMera family's destructive decisions.

My Thoughts

Johnny finally standing up to EJ was satisfying, even if I understand why the decision was so difficult. EJ is still his father, and loving someone doesn't mean you automatically stop loving them when they do terrible things. But Johnny needs to stand firm now that he's made his decision, even when the consequences become uncomfortable.

Chanel ringing that victory bell was genuinely moving! After everything she's endured, it was wonderful seeing her celebrate completing chemotherapy. I'm rooting for Chanel and Johnny, and I hope they come through these challenges stronger together.

Now, Joy moving into Alex and Stephanie's home? That is a disaster waiting to happen! I cannot imagine Stephanie being comfortable with this arrangement for long, especially when Joy seems determined to keep certain things under wraps. The closer everyone gets, the harder it's going to be to keep those secrets from coming out.

I also enjoyed the Kiriakis mansion story. Maggie, Kate, and the family turning their own home into a fake disaster zone was ridiculous in the best soap opera way. Roman participating was a surprise, but that kiss with Kate was a romantic moment I didn't know I needed!

But Marlena's storyline has my attention more than anything else. The possibility that Stefano somehow fathered a child with her is horrifying, considering their history. I need to know whether Dominic's birth certificate is genuine and what Stefano might have done without Marlena's knowledge.

In Salem, one shocking revelation usually leads to five more, and I have a feeling this mystery is far from over!
