Days of Our Lives Weekly Recap 7-28

A woman in a patterned dress holds a bag while a man in a yellow jacket looks at her in a stylish living room with a fireplace.

Gabi and Tony continue to discuss their plan and take notice of the growing rift between Philip and Xander. They want to ensure the infighting continues. Gabi seeks out Steve to investigate the Kiriakises. At first, he says no — but eventually agrees.

Marlena speaks with Kayla about what she’s feeling. She doesn’t believe it’s physical, but something is definitely off — and it has her worried. She even brings up Stefano.

Julie makes sure Gwen sees that she has the necklace back. They exchange words, and a man named Foster stands up for Julie. They visit his bookstore, which he’s selling. Julie says she’ll see if anyone is interested in buying it.

Tony questions Gwen about Stefan and Dimitri. He may not care personally, but he needs to know what’s going on with his family.

Julie and Marlena talk about everything — the necklace, how things ended with Doug, and the unsettling vibe that seems to be hanging over them all. Roman is called to testify in the case against Johnny. Philip sees his mother, Kate, and quickly figures out that the book is written by Stephanie. Stephanie later confirms it — and that she’s working for EJ because she needed a big client. Jada gets it. Johnny sees Belle, and she tells him she loves him. Susan is also convinced Johnny is innocent.

Johnny tells his father not to bring up Chanel when defending him in court. Belle and EJ present their opening remarks. Soon after, Chad, Jada, and Roman testify. Roman talks about the missing gun at the pub — how he found it, wiped it down, and worried that Johnny might have taken it. Holly and Maggie catch up and discuss Tate, Sophia, and the baby — just as Sarah enters and makes a face. She knows the truth: the baby was a boy. After Holly leaves, Sarah tells Maggie the truth.

Sophia is still reeling from the adoption deception. Her mother, Amy, is deeply concerned and wants her to go to the hospital. Sophia finally agrees. EJ and Belle have words about the case. Sarah confronts Sophia, telling her she knows the baby wasn’t a girl and believes the child may be in danger. Sophia finally confesses everything.

Steve finds out that Alex has an arrest record and discusses it with Justin. Despite this, they both know Stephanie is in love.

Stephanie notices that a passage she wanted removed is still in the book. Alex tries to calm her, but it doesn’t work. He continues trying to soothe her.

Chad sees Cat and Rafe talking and is surprised they know each other. They make excuses. When Cat and Rafe meet again, they question whether Stefano could still be alive — he is, after all, the Phoenix. Both Susan and Marlena have sensed his presence. Xander brings Victoria to see Sarah. At first, Sarah questions his kindness, but she soon realizes his intentions are good. He brings the separation papers, and they seem to part in peace. Susan continues to feel Stefano’s presence.

Chad and Cat get stuck in an elevator together. Rachel and Marlena have a girls’ night. They talk about EJ and Johnny’s case. Rachel admits she doesn’t remember anything else. EJ talks with Sydney, and soon gets a call from Sarah — the elevator needs to be fixed. EJ later speaks with Rita about the possibility of Stefano being alive. He also has a plan of his own — which will be revealed soon. Still stuck, Cat and Chad pass the time by talking about whether Stefano could still be alive. Eventually, they play a game to distract themselves.

Xander and Gwen run into each other and chat about Sarah and how Leo saw them — until Leo exits. Brady and Sarah bond over co-parenting and discuss the end of her marriage. Sydney tells EJ something about her mother. Marlena is pleased — because Sami is coming home tomorrow.
