Salem is getting another familiar face from the soap world.
General Hospital and The Young and the Restless alum Brytni Sarpy has officially joined the cast of Days of Our Lives. The Peacock soap announced the casting on August 24, sharing a photo of Sarpy outside her dressing room at the show's Burbank studio.
There's just one rather important detail DAYS isn't sharing yet: who she's playing. For now, Sarpy's character is being kept under wraps, leaving plenty of room for speculation about whether she's bringing someone entirely new to Salem or stepping into a role viewers may already know.
From Port Charles to Genoa City — and Now Salem
Sarpy is certainly no stranger to daytime television. She made her soap debut in 2015 as Valerie Spencer on General Hospital, remaining with the ABC soap until 2019.
She then headed to Genoa City as Dr. Elena Dawson on The Young and the Restless. Elena became involved in major storylines with Devon Hamilton and Nate Hastings, though the character's presence eventually diminished. Sarpy last appeared on Y&R in November 2024.
Interestingly, DAYS isn't entirely new territory for the actress. Before landing her role on General Hospital, Sarpy previously auditioned and screen-tested for Days of Our Lives. More than a decade later, she's finally making her way to Salem.
When Will Brytni Sarpy Debut on Days of Our Lives?
Fans shouldn't expect to see Sarpy immediately.
Because Days of Our Lives films significantly ahead of its streaming schedule, Sarpy isn't expected to make her on-screen debut until around mid-2027.
That gives DAYS plenty of time to keep us guessing about exactly who she'll be playing — and knowing Salem, there are approximately 47 complicated family trees she could somehow be added to.
For now, though, one thing is official: Brytni Sarpy is back in daytime.
